Hi everyone. I'm a Mechanical engineer, im hoping to have an invitation by November with the new rules in immigration. It's either visa 189 or 190. In skill select, what are the states that you could recommend for me as an engineer to have greater chance of nomination? Thank you

@sal19515 I am also a ME and migrated here in Perth WA since October 2016. In my opinion, it depends on your preference, family status and job opportunities. Here are my say as follows:

1. Go to Sydney or Melbourne if you prefer a fast paced metro lifestyle as it is an old city with huge population. Work is there in the construction sector, buildings and design. You can also have a better go for better manufacturing companies there.

2. Go to Brisbane if you look for a trade in mechanical fitting and even manufacturing. Just make sure you invest in trade tickets, licenses and certificates in forklift, etc.

3. Go to WA if you wanted to pursue mining jobs and FIFO work. Northern Territory in Darwin applies except its regional area.

4. I seldom heard Southern Australia a good pick state for ME as Adelaide focus on medical field opportunities.

I'm a mechanical engineer too. 65 pointer. Is there a chance I will be invited in the next fiscal year?

@donyx personally, automation goes into field of CNC machine here in Australia. Meron din certificate gained thru TAFE school which depends on your depth skill needed for a certain job requirement. Others goes into mechanical fitter. Sadly, if Engineer tayo Sa Pinas, you will have to earn your title here as you will crawl your way up. Prayers lang and wag susuko Sa opportunities

@cacophony try to increase more visa points by taking English test with a higher band score. Nowadays, it’s competitive in the invite process as they prioritise 85 in queue

Sa mga nkapag PDOS na sa pinas! May mga questions lang po ako regards dun sa mga documents na inaadvice nla at kung inaaply nyo po b sya before leaving pinas:

1. Kailngn pba ired ribbon ung mga following documents below as per advice ng PDOS: Xe po ung Academic qualifications ko plang npa redribbon ko. Gnu ktgal and cost inabot nyo sa process n ito?
a. Birth certificate from NSO
b. Academic qualifications (diploma, school report cards, TOR)
c. Employment Certificate and references from previous employers
d. Health and medical records
e. Financial documents (bank statement)

2. Ung PRC license b dpat irenew ko pa sa pinas pra kpag ngapply ng job? may bearing ba sya?
3. Ung driver's license kailngan b ikuha ng certification sa LTO at ipa red ribbon din pra daw mdali mkakuha ng license sa sydney xe hindi kna daw pageexamin ng iba nla requirement if kuha ka ng license dun? Gnu ktgal and cost inabot nyo sa process n ito?

@cacophony check the latest update for your points. I'm struggling to have 7777 in IELTS. There are additional points for single ang Stem applicants.

@datch29 eastern states has more manufacturing plants. But Australia has less manufacturing jobs as labor for them is expensive for investors. They much rely on local manpower.
