Changes for 491 visa points

State Sponsorship: 15 points from 10 points
Additional 10 points if you are single, 5 points for partner with competent english( 6) - 10 points if partner have a positive skills assessment in an occupation on the applicable occupations list
The rest are the same..

The visa is valid for 5 years...489(old) visa is only valid for 4 years
Can apply for PR visa after 3 years after complying the residency and work requirements...unlike 489 visa, PR application can be done after 2 years of living and working in a regional area

New point system takes effect on 16 November.

Eligible to apply pa din ba ang ict analyst programmer or developer programmer? O ung skills under DAMA n lang? Napansin ko din na nawala Melbourne or Sydney kung san located relatives ko.. meaning to get nomination ba under this visa kelangan ang skills mo under DAMA? Salamat po

@MsFaith There are only 7 DAMAs currently in place so di lang skills under dama ang kasama...491is just the old 489 with some changes..your nominated occupation should be in the state occupations list and you should apply for state nomination

Wow thats good news... maraming salamat, yun nga lang nawala na ang melbourne sa option na available under 489, tama ba ako? Or can my family from Melbourne still be able to sponsor me under 491?

@MsFaith 489 was never ever available for Melbourne. 489 is for regional areas only and Melbourne isn’t a regional area. It would be the daw case with 491.

Hi... ask ko lang sa bagong visa na 491. I-sponsor kasi ako ng brother ko from a regional area. Any idea regarding sa kailangan na paper works ng brother ko to sponsor me? Para ma-ready na daw niya before November 16... and another question, I'm a software engineer for 7 years, nakita ko sa NSW available daw sa Far South Coast ang Softwqre Engineer. Ibig ba sabihin walang issue kahit sa regional ako ng NSW kasi nasa occupation list pa din ako ee? Thanks!
