dadalhin mo sya dun physically for registration...
paano kapag nag-initial entry lang kami..tapos babalik after 6 months or 1 year? kunwari..initial entry April 2013..tapos uwi na kami end of April 2013.Pwede ko ba iregister baby sa April 2013 tapos may makukuha na kami?
I have no idea about this scenarion... better ask centrelink once you register...
    pero I doubt it..

last year nung nag migrate kami, 10K baon namin. nag survive naman, i have 2 kids and my centerlink benefit is 440/fortnight including na dun yung rent assistance. btw, kung permanent resident ka na entitled ka na kaagad sa centerlink benefit.

    rental namin s 375/wk (3 bedroom house)
    grocery - 150 to 200/wk
    gas/transpo - 100/wk
utilities - water 130/quarter / electric 500/quarter nag increase due to carbon tax
    miscellaneous - 500/month

Kasi if iisipin mo din it's not much, pero syempre mas okay pa din kaysa wala. Hindi pa nga ako nagre register with Centrelink ever after 5 months. Sa Medicare lang kami nag register. Tapos to follow pa yun Child Immunization register kasi hindi namin nadala yun baby book ng anak ko last time. If meron may alam ng details nito na facts, please do share. Kasi last year din ako dumating dito and alam ko nga meron 2 year wait for new migrants.

Eto yun statement from Centrelink, pwede ka magclaim if in "severe financial hardship" ka.

    http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/centrelink/special-benefit

"Waiting period exemptions for Special Benefit

Generally, newly arrived migrants are required to serve a waiting period of two years called the newly arrived resident’s waiting period. The two-year waiting period does not apply to Australian citizens, refugees and other people who meet the criteria.

You do not have to serve the two year waiting period if you:

arrived in Australia as a refugee, are a former refugee, or are the partner or dependent child of a refugee or former refugee
    are an Australian citizen
have already been a permanent resident of Australia for a continuous period of at least two years at any time
hold a temporary protection visa or certain other visas
are the partner or dependent child of a person who is:
    an Australian citizen or
a permanent resident of two yearsor
have had a substantial change of circumstances beyond your control and are in hardship

Note: These are not applicable to provisional partner visa holders."

Here's more about the Newstart Allowance.
    http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/centrelink/newstart-allowance

    @barloval
Pa-explain naman ng circumstances niyo and ano ginawa niyo pagpunta niyo sa Centrelink like ano mga tinanong sa inyo, ano documents na you submitted, etc. Thanks.

Yun newstart allowance, after 2 years pa talaga pwede pati yun parenting payment. Pero at the moment, nagc-claim ako ng Family Tax Benefit. I'll see how it goes. Online ko ginagawa eh. Inform ko kayo if meron makuha. Meron ako anak dito, 2 years old.

So eto ang naresearch ko, if I read the requirements of these two benefits, walang nakalagay na residency requirements... but of course my mga other criteria, and these are income-tested.. so kung hindi nagwork ang isa, at kalilipat pa lang sa AU, malamang pasado nga sa income test..

These 2 types ng benefits na pwede ang new migrants na walang residency requirements..

    1) RENT ASSISTANCE -
    - $141.82 (max payment per fortnight) for Couple, one or two children (if your fortnightly rent is more than $398.39)

    http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/centrelink/rent-assistance

    2) FAMILY TAX BENEFIT
    - $169.68 per child (ages 0-9), $220.64 per child (ages 13-15). $220.64 (secondary student 16-19)

    http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/services/centrelink/family-tax-benefit-part-a-part-b

    -------

"Generally, newly arrived migrants are required to serve a waiting period of two years.. may word na generally.. as long as ma-meet mo ang mga criteria..

ayos sge balitaan mo kami dyan..

so i guess (im not sure) ang income test is for current financial year July 2012-June 2013, dahil July ang start ng filing ng income tax sa AU..

So meron ipapadala rent certificate. Tapos 21 days ang processing if meron ka makukuha so medyo matagal din pala sana dati ko pa ginawa. Stay tuned. :D

nope.. wala akong proof/reference... im just assuming.. that after one year, even if only 1 is working in your household, you can make more than 47k aud per year.. which means you wont pass the income test..

    @LakiMasel
Natawa ko sa pangalan mo. Haha.

Yun sa income test, pwede ka pumasa if like me, hindi naman ako nag-start ng work for this financial year last June 2012. So sa tingin ko pasok ako ngayon. Hehe. Yun Rent Assistance, pagkakaintindi ko pwede ka magclaim basta nagre-rent kayo AND meron kayo other payments nakukuha from Centrelink. So ibig sabihin, if wala ka nakukuha.. hindi ka pwede claim Rent Assistance by itself.

"The first test reduces the maximum rate of Family Tax Benefit Part A by 20 cents for each dollar above $47,815 until your payment reaches the base rate of Family Tax Benefit Part A.

The second test reduces the base rate of Family Tax Benefit Part A by 30 cents for each dollar above $94,316 (plus $3,796 for each Family Tax Benefit child after the first) until your payment reaches nil."

Ako Family Tax Benefit A & B ang try ko claim.

    http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/enablers/centrelink/rent-assistance/eligibility
meron po sa payment rates, merong single/couple with no children..
so i guess pwede kahit walang anak.. try mo hehe..

    http://www.humanservices.gov.au/customer/enablers/centrelink/rent-assistance/payment-rates

You may be able to get Rent Assistance if you:

•receive a pension (special rules apply if you are aged under 21 and receive Disability Support Pension[1])
•have dependent children and get more than the base rate of Family Tax Benefit[2]
•have care of a child between 14 and 35 per cent of the time and are not eligible for Family Tax Benefit but do meet other Family Tax Benefit requirements or both
•receive an allowance or benefit (but don't have dependent children) and:
    ◦are over 25
    ◦have a partner or
◦are under 25 and living permanently or indefinitely apart from your parents or guardians
