Saan area ka po ba? Ako nag-google lang ng driving instructor, tapos nagbasa ng reviews sa driving school. Yun nakuha ko before, A$45 / hour. Okay na din dami ko natutunan. Kumuha ako kasi bagsak ako nun una ko take ng driving test. Hahaha. Parang ni-strikethrough yun fail items. Speeding, not following traffic signs, mistakes sa dashboard controls daw, not doing frequent observation checks, etc. Haha. Pero after ko mag 3 x 1 hour session ng driving lessons, naipasa ko na yun 2nd take ko ng driving test with flying colors pa. Hehehe.

Hehe hindi po pwede, I think from what I've gathered, lahat talaga ng galing Pinas is dadaan sa knowledge test saka actual driving test. Depende na lang if meron ka licence na sa Pinas, hindi ka na dadaan ng P.

Kung sa may campbelltown ka try Ibay driving school, c edgar yung instructor, pinoy sya and mabait and magaling na instructor. Naka 1 take lang ako. Post ko yung number nya later.

@arch_jeffmattjust wanted to make sure kaya nagpa request ako ng LTO cert. ang info sa akin kasi para malaman ng RTA since when ako unang nagkaroon ng license. eh 19kopong-kopong pa un. my present one is expiring on august, so that makes 3 yrs from the time it was renewed. full license yata is based after 3 yrs of having one. so since january pa lang ngayon wala pa akong 3 yrs nagda-drive (sa paniniwala ng RTA un). now, hindi ko alam kung tama nga ba itong info na ito kasi sa previous reads ko, may salungat sa premise na 'to. para wala ng marami pang kyaw-kyaw bago ako pumunta sa agency, kumpleto na ako. gets mo? ako hindi!

@jaero, pls refresh my memory...bakit L ang licence mo? di ba may PH non-prof ka?

ok...here's what i am doing now. mejo urgent na ang review ko kasi magti-3 months na pala ako sa syd. last monday ko lang na realize. i asked my sister in manila to request for an LTO certificate to be sent ASAP. now reviewing the handbook, will take the online mock test, take the road lesson for 1 or 2 hours & schedule my RTA test online. are all these in order?

need to take all test before feb 5. hayyyyz...kapos na ako sa oras since i am also planning to attend a class by 1st week of feb. ay sows! nagpatong-patong ang urgent matters. X(

Sorry guys late reply. Actually, hindi po kailangan nun certificate from LTO kung kailan ka nagka-licence. Kapag pinakita mo po yun driver's licence mo, alam na agad nila kailan ka nagka-licence sa Phils based sa licence number nyo. Ganun po ginawa ko at meron kami family friend for many years na nagttrabaho sa RTA Castle Hill NSW. Siya po yun nakakwentuhan ko and ito po ang na-confirm ko din based on my own experience.

Hehehe. In my case N01- ang umpisa ng # ko meaning 2001 ako nagka-licence. Nag-knowledge test lang ako, then driving test = full licence agad. Tapos bayad ako A$165 (yata) for validity of 5 years.

@jae, probably, kung hindi na galit si haring araw sa tuesday, between 20-30°C, go ako sa RTA macqua at the same time sa univ for the badminton event. by then, okay na ako sa review...siguro. b-( expedite ko kaya review ko para mag exam na rin sa monday na lang? nakakalito.

Actually meron na din case na ganyan, dunno nabasa ko din ata yun dito sa forum. Ang gagawin mo if ganyan, sabihin mo dun sa officer please confirm with your superior. Kasi yun mga baguhan hindi alam yan at sasabihin na lang sayo hindi pwede. Pero kapag natapat ka naman sa masipag and experienced, alam na nila agad yan. Isa din sigurong factor is yun suburb namin is madami Pinoy. So madalas meron mag-upgrade ng Phils licence sa kanila.

Explain to them lang, insist mo din actually na you know people here na nagrenew, and they can even phone RTA Castle Hill NSW if hindi talaga sila sure. Hindi na kasi talaga kailangan nun certificate na yun.

Yun computer based exam (DKT) sa RTA, parehong pareho lang sa reviewer nila online. Hehehe. Ilan beses ako nagpraktis dun, nun confident na ako saka ako nag-exam. 1 lang mistake ko. Meron lumabas na wala sa reviewer kasi saka nalito ako.

@bryann, maraming salamat sa iyong tinuran. tanong lang; pwede ko ba kunin ang comp-based exam next week & then practical after feb 8? may problema ba pag ang practical exam ko after my 3rd month but comp-based is before feb 8? inulit lang ang tanong. heheh! muli, salamat!

@jae, actually, may whole day affair sana ako bukas. pero di na lang me go para mag review. kundi lang magte-3rd month ako sa feb 8 (bale), di ako magka cram now.

@Bryann ang alam kophil license starts with the agency code like N01-99-999999 mukhang yung 99 after nung agency ang year dahil sa kin is 08for 2008.

Ay opo ata basta po andun sa licence yun year na first ka na-issue-han ng licence. Hindi ko kasi hawak yun Phils licence ko ngaun kaya hindi ko na-check, hehe. Pero basta andun po yun sa licence #. Thanks po sa correction.

Opo wala po problema kahit po after ng 3rd, or kahit after 1 year ka po mag-attempt ng driving test. Ang mawawala lang naman po after ng 3rd month mo here is yun privilege mo na makapag-drive dito sa NSW. Ako kasi lagpas 4 months pa kasi nga po bumagsak ako sa 1st take ko sa driving test.

Ang nadale ako sa observation checks, dapat po talaga basahin yun manual. Always check blind spots, kapag meron pedestrian lane, and crossing traffic lights, and leaving the kerb, etc. After I failed the first time, nag-enroll ako sa driving instructor.

NOTE: After mo mag-attempt the first time ng driving test and bumagsak ka, bibigyan ka L licence. Bibigyan ka din nun L sign na ilalagay sa kotse, makakapag-drive ka pa din pero dapat accompanied ng meron full licence. Tapos papapirmahan ka ng document na inaalis yun rights mo na gamitin yun Phils licence mo. Ilalagay din nila sa records nila yun. Next time mag-attempt ka at pumasa ka na, full licence agad.

Badtrip lang dyan, doble bayad mo so A$50++ times 2. Hehe. Also, pwede ka magpa-schedule ng driving test ng Sabado, para sa mga hindi nakakaalam. Yun nga lang 2 months ahead fully booked na, so if hindi ka nagmamadali and ayaw mo mag-leave ng weekdays pwede ka dun.

Tip again.. for driving test. Sasabihin ni inspector ang papagawa sayo na driving skill, 2 ito from the following.
a) Kerb side parking
b) Reverse kerb side parking
c) Angle reverse parking
d) 3-point turn

So review lang kayo, hehe. If kukuha kayo driving instructor, kuha kayo dun sa malapit sa RTA na pag-exam-an niyo. More often than not, alam nila yun test route. So mabibigyan nya kayo ng tips. Kagaya nun instructor ko, sabi niya Blacktown daw and Castle Hill walang angle park. Madalas Kerb Side saka Reverse Parking. Yun 2 take ko ganito lang pinagawa.

@bryann, thanks for heaps of tips. ang sinabi naman sa akin ng instructor ko need ko raw matapos lahat before my 3rd month. feeling ko tuloy minamadali lang ako mag enrol. anyway, ask ko yan next week before or after exam. hindi naman siguro fully booked ung comp-based exam, di ba? thanx.

anyone who has taken a test in ryde? instructor told me my practice will be in ryde. to sched next week my comp-based test. good luck sa akin kasi may pagka impatient ako. need to relax & read Qs thoroughly. bahala na si batman, process of elimination na lang siguro pag nahilo o kaya mini-mini mina moe... hahahah!

@ kenkoy pagpasa mo sa dkt pa schedule ka na kaagad para sa actual driving test kasi nung sa akin it took me 3 weeks. Mahaba talaga ang pila, kaya pa schedule ka na kaagad after mo pumasa sa dkt.

Driver Knowledge Test (DKT) - a computer based knowledge test of the road rules that must be passed before obtaining or upgrading a NSW licence.

and then book for my:

Driving Test - a practical driving test that must be passed to progress to a provisional P1 licence. Bookings must be made at least two days prior to the test.

while waiting for my sked for DT, road driving lesson muna.

@barloval, thank u po! went around on net for some remarks on driving tests at ryde. meron palang peanut roundabout dun. mwehehe! pero sige, go! kaya ko yan. quezon memorial circle nga na sali-saliwa ang daloy ng traffic nuong araw nakayanan ko, what more ito. mani!?

oo nga, mahirap magpa sked. gusto ko sana sa tues AM na for comp-based. got the fri slot, hapon pa.

Good luck po!

Hindi po totoo yun sinasabi ng instructor, siguro para lang tuloy tuloy na pwede ka magdrive. Pero wala masama kahit lumagpas 3 months trust me.

Yun sa booking ng driving test, sabi nun taga-RTA hindi mo daw ito pwede gawin online sa MYRTA. Sa office ka lang nila pwede pa-book, tapos mag-change sched na lang online.

TIP #1:
If wala makita na gusto mo na schedule (date and time) para sa driving test, magpa-book ka na lang ng kahit ano sa kanila pagpunta mo. Mabilis kasi talaga mapuno ang slots. After mo pa-book, pag-uwi mo at meron ka naman internet sa bahay.. mag-change sched ka na lang dun. Wala bayad ang change sched at kahit ilan beses pwede, basta 1-2 weeks ahead.

TIP #2:
Para mabawasan ang aalalahanin, magpa-book outside the school zone time. (morning and afternoon). Tricky kasi yun iba location ng school zones, mabilis minsan sabay magugulat ka dapat 40 km/h na ang speed limit. Sa speed limit signs, magbabago lang yun speed pagkalagpas ng sign ha.. hindi pagkakita pwede ka na let's say mag increase ng speed. Mapapansin mo yun sa inspector sinusubukan ka titingin bigla sa speed gauge mo. Hehe.

TIP #3:
Sa observation checks/blind spot checks, inline yun ulo sa shoulder pag-lingon. Medyo oa pero importante makita nun nagte-test sayo na ginagawa mo yun. Meron sample test paper sa RTA site para makita nyo yun mga instant fail items. Para iwasan nyo.

@bryann, maraming salamat sa bonggang-bongga mong mga tips. i appreciate that. my 3rd month will be over, technically, on feb 8. i arrived on nov 11, so being 9&10 are weekends, giving myself a date to beat feb 8. i plan to take the practical test sometime 2nd week of march. sa dami ng eksplanasyon ko,

ang tanong ko po, pwede ba magpa sked ng 2nd SATURDAY ng march right after ng comp exam kung may slot pa? may sabado ba? para iwas lang sa school days. blaming myself i was not able to take advantage of the school vacation.

& then being a (manual) driver back in manila in 19kopong-kopong pa, how many hours do u think i should acquire for an automatic driving lesson? instructor said that depends on my ability, i think so too. aware naman ako na mas madali ang automatic kesa sa manual, pero kayo ba, ano ang experience nyo?

okay...to set things straight,

i had my DKT last friday at ryde RTA. when i submitted all my dox, lady asked me since when i've been driving.

me: would u have in any way get to find out from my license since when i've been driving?
lady: no.

just because i did not want to waste her time finding out or engage her in a "lecture" how to find out, i instead brought out my LTO cert that says all my details & added to that "HOLDER OF LIC SINCE: 19kopong-kopong."

if i were u guys u better bring an LTO cert para wala na lang maraming kyaw-kyaw. P100 lang naman sa LTO main office, east ave & only 2 days processing. ung mga nasa provinces, ask ur sub agencies how to. i had mine requested last week, monday; uploaded to me & printed out wednesay PM, bingo!

btw, since gaya-gaya ako kay @jaero, heheheh! perfect! sisiw lang. of course, that was coupled with reading the handbook seriously & online practice exam. for me not to get mixed-up w/ street signs & paikot-ikot, paulit-ulit & some tricky questions, keywords ang formula.

soon to practice the RHD & practical test. sana malusutan ko lahat.

btw, much thanks to bryann, barloval & jaero. i highly appreciate ur inputs.

@lock_code2004, thank u po. like what i posted earlier, i asked my sister to go to my LTO district office pero she was instructed to go to LTO main ofc, east ave, QC. actually, before i left for AU, i left behind an authorization letter & govt IDs for her in case i need something from the bank, BIR, pagibig, etc. ok back, i scanned/uploaded my license card & receipt kasi requested ng LTO main. she had it printed & proceeded to LTO main submitting my
1) license/receipt downloaded copy
2) photocopy of my authorization letter(she showed the original)
3) 100 pesoses

she was asked to go back 2 days later. she uploaded/emailed & i printed it. ewan ba naman sa printer bakit ayaw mag colour print kaya B/W. at any rate, the same copy na rin ang sinabmit ko. maghanap man ang RTA ng coloured i knew i can easily open my yahoo mail & show it. pero hindi na ako hinanapan ng coloured copy. walang naging argument & hindi naging mabusisi. smooth naman ang submission ko ng dox. ang akala ko lang para silang DIAC na lahat kailangan coloured scanned copies. nanigurado lang ako.

so there u go. re authorization letter, if u make one, make sure u sign in blue ink para wala na rin question on its authenticity (for the coloured ink kasi). about ur ID, payag naman siguro LTO kung photocopy lang. wala naman risk siguro sa intention.
