Hi guys, I'm in the middle of something here. Before everything else, I want to lay down all the info of my case.
June 2012 - Started my engineering experience with position 'Engineer 1' at Company A
June 2017 - My 5th year at Company A with position 'Unit Leader'
August 2017 - Applied for CDR+RSEA on Engineers Australia
September 2017 - Got a positive outcome letter from EA with acknowledged overseas employment written as 'June 2012 to September 2017'
March 2020 - Still waiting for ITA. Still in the current position as Unit Leader at Company A.
June 2020 - My 8th year as Unit Leader at Company A.
September 2020 - Original outcome letter would be 3 years old.
After my 5th year at Company A as a Unit Leader, I applied for CDR + RSEA on Engineers Australia (EA) way back August 2017 and got the outcome letter in September 2017. To date, I haven't been invited yet and fear that my outcome letter would deem invalid should I get the invite past September 2020. I asked EA about updating my outcome letter to further the validity of it for another 3 years. They replied and suggested to apply for a duplicate letter for $121.00 (incl. GST) and they would produce the EXACT same letter except with the most recent date, retaining my overseas employment up until September 2017.
BUT I just figured that I can claim for another 5 points for my overseas job experience since it'll be my 8th year at Company A at exactly the same position (Unit Leader) as when I applied my CDR+RSEA three years ago.
Question, do you think it would be wise for me to further my relevant skilled employment assessment from 'June 2012-September 2017' to 'June 2012-June 2020' so I can claim for additional 5 points on my EOI? This is possible via EA portal but would cost me more $$$ on top of the duplicate letter ($121). And had I not applied for it and asked only for a duplicate letter, do you think DOHA would still consider it valid since I still hold the EXACT same position as when I applied my CDR+RSEA three years ago?
