May mom-in-law's visitor visa will be expiring soon on the 23rd of May. I will be applying her again now in advance with the same type visitor visa 600, but this time it will be 12months.
Question: What if the new visa application gets denied? Will this void the current active visitor visa she is holding?

    eto exact words

When does my Bridging visa end?
If your application is granted, your Bridging visa will end and your new visa will become
    active.
If your application is invalid, refused, withdrawn or has an outcome from a merits review
decision, your Bridging visa will end after a specified period of time. To understand more
about when a bridging visa ends, refer to www.homeaffairs.gov.au/bridging-visas

Thanks @Captain_A for the response. I appreciate it.
I'm a bit worried if I apply her too close to the expiration since I'm planning to have the visitor visa 600 12months and this will definitely require medicals.

bridging visa gives you rights to stay until visa decision arrives.

we were given bridging visa when the applicant is on australia and still has a valid visitor visa. this is our experience, more likely ganyan din sa in law mo..

to be 100% sure you may call immig.

@Captain_A I called them and yes you are correct. Thanks!

Other thing immig mentioned that she should not stay for more that 12 consecutive months. So if my mom-in-law was here Aug 2019 and if she gets extended by the new visitor visa that I will be applying, it will most likely be approved for only until Aug 2020.

But I told immig that mom-in-law went home Jan 2020 for just a week and asked I asked them if will it reset the 12 consecutive months. Immig said yes it should reset but it will depend now on the case officer. What was your case in this scenario?

hindi ko pala tlga sya na try sa parent.
pero afaik, 12 months always starts from the entry date.
so if january 2020 pumasok sa Australia, she may stay until January 2021, given na 12months ang binigay ni case officer.

i suggest apply as planned, then sa grant notice, it will mention until when she may stay, if unclear sa nakasulat sa grant notice or to decide when to book her plane tickets, you may call immig again to be sure na hindi sya lumampas sa allowed stay nya.

Hi, need lang po ng advise about applying tourist visa - on shore. I have tried to apply a tourist visa for my mom - Visitor visa (subclass 600) - Tourist stream (apply in Australia). Kaya lang sa payment $145 pa din lumalabas instead na 365aud. What I did is click yung apply link dun sa page ng Visitor visa (subclass 600) - Tourist stream (apply in Australia). Then I was redirected sa immiaccount, then next, then yung option ko is standart "Tourist stream (tourism/visit family or friends)". Hindi nakalagay na apply in australia. Thanks in advance.

Hi Everyone, It's the time of the year again to renew again my mom-in-law's visa. Anyone here applied tourist visa for their parent/s lately? Just need to know if it got approved and how long did it take. I'll be lodging it for 12months. My mom-in-law has been here for 1yr and 8months already.

Check the website for list of requirements. No approval is being issued this time. My sister's application is still pending and was ready to be approved since March 2020. Usually, medical exam is required for stays longer than 3 mos or depending on the applicant's age. You can immediately see if medical exam is required once you submit the application.

Hello po! Anyone who has done TV application for their parents recently? I'm planning to get both my parents to visit next year ang prob lang is they don't have much to show for like finances etc. Me and my partner along with my auntie and uncle will be sponsoring and shouldering their travel expenses while they are here. Is this enough? Any tips to get a successful application po? Thank you

    washout
