Hi, I am planning to apply for visa 189 and nominate my skill as a civil engineer, however, my fear is that I will not be qualified for it and it would be difficult to write my CDR. I only have 2 years experience in PH as site engineer fo road works and 2 years as a commercial engineer in Dubai. My agent advise me to nominate another skill but it does not fall under subclass 189. Please advise. Thank you

Hi! In my case, I only had 17 months work experience and only 8 months of that is related to my major (EE). MSA --Positive Outcome. For your CDR, you can write about your thesis and projects in uni for your career episodes as long as you're demonstrating the competency elements stated in the summary statement. Check you're ANZCO too and see if your job description agrees with what is described in the ANZCO description.

I don't think this is always true. Yung "within 36 months" is generally used for all the acceptable English tests, be it IELTS, PTE, etc.

Sakin lang naman to, it's always better to be on the safe side. Kung expired na yung document mo as prescribed by the organization who released it, follow that.

I agree with you erring on the side of caution. However, upon further research, 3 years valid ang PTE sa DoHA even if 2 years lang validity nya..

Hi Ms. Rhea, thank you for this clarification. Would like to clarify further: isn't the license required for engineering professions that can be licensed in the Philippines? From what you mentioned, the license helps for those with qualifications under section 2 to be upgraded to section 1. But as what @jakibantiles mentioned, I think if you're claiming points for engineering experience in the Philippines for a profession that can be licensed, I think the license is required to submit to EA also since it is required by Philippine law to have it in order to practice your profession. Thus, it is possible that EA will not count your engineering experience in the Philippines if you do not have a valid license because it can be deemed illegal.

Just my thought though. Please correct me if I'm wrong. Thank you!

PRC (may be) a requirement to recognize the experience but not the requirement to recognize the school as AQF bachelors equivalent. I think the confusion is there. If I'm not mistaken, may separate service kasi ang EA for each for some circumstances.

But I have to comment with regard to your assertion that it is illegal to "practice" without a licence. Could only be true if you're self employed practicing engineer but if you work for a company, it is not illegal to be employed as a non-licensed engineer to do the works for your company unless you sign engineering documents. Because if that's the case, no engineer from the PH can be employed in SG and Dubai for example without taking licensing exams in those countries, if you follow that licensing logic. Technically this should still be assessed as engineering experience though.

This isn’t correct. PRC isn’t a requirement to recognise work experience. You need to have a positive skills assessment outcome in order for your work experience to be recognised. As mentioned previously, not PRC is only required if the applicant obtained the qualification from an institution listed under section 2.

Hello po, alamin nyo po if yung description ng Civil Engineer ANZSCO ay related sa ginawa nyo po. Medyo broad po kasi ang commercial engineer. Yung PRC license ayon po sabi nung iba sa forum is may advantage lang if experience mo is pinas. Since Dubai naman po experience nyo walang bearing and PRC license.

Check nyo po yung ANZSCO description, para po malaman nyo anu ang mas pasok.

Hello po. I'm planning to apply for visa 189 next year (since next year pa ako mag-3 years sa current job ko). Hopefully palarin. Sa ngayon nagbabasa-basa muna ako dito sa forum and naghahanda para sa mga magiging requirements. Kaya po, manghihingi po sana ako ng sample CDR para sa mga kapwa ko chemical engineer dito. Guys, I applied for a duplicate letter this morning. Two hours later I got the outcome. Quick as lightning.

It usually takes 4-5 weeks to get the outcome but mine took hours. Kudos to EA.

Just a few notes:
1. If you've applied for RSEA when you did on your original CDR, make sure to do the same when applying for your duplicate letter. Duplicate letter costs 121 AUD (incl. GST)
2. Upload all documents. Per EA, "If you do not have all of the original documents, you can upload a scanned copy of the original outcome letter in place of the documents you no longer have access to."
3. Pay in full (CDR + RSEA). No need to tick the fast track button as your application will be expedited at NO COST. If EA sees it as a duplicate letter application, the difference will be refunded to you after the completion of your duplicate letter.
4. Email EA ([email protected]) upfront after you've submitted and paid for your duplicate letter with subject in the format: "EA ID: XXXXXXX | Application ID: XXXXXX | Duplicate Letter"
5. Application ID can be seen on the upper right hand of the TAX INVOICE/RECEIPT.
6. Attach your original outcome letter and degree certificate in your email before hitting that send button. Upon receipt, your application will then be fast tracked by an assessor.
7. It is imperative that the details of your universities and degrees are typed in correctly.

Note that this is a DUPLICATE letter. Everything is exactly the same as your original outcome letter, only with the most recent date. If you want more experience acknowledged, you have to apply for a secondary application for further RSEA, which means added $$$.

Good Morning po mga kabayan! Bago lang po ako dito. Kakatanggap ko lang po ng email from EA about my assessment kaso hinihingan po ako ng mga additional docs.Lahat po ng secondary docs hinihingi sakin. Meron po ba sa inyo dito na same case ko na walang prc at hiningan din? Sabi di daw iccredit yung bachelors degree ko pag wala ako maprovide na prc license or card at yung qualification ko sa school ay equivalent lng daw ng advanced diploma nila pero pag nakapagsubmit daw ako ng prc dun lng nila ihhonor ang bachelors degeree ko. I am applying po pala under engineering technologist tska hinihingan din pala ako ng BIR 2316 sa lahat ng year ng employment ko, meron po b dito na nakahingi sa bir at kung nakakuha po kayo gano po katagal bago nyo nakuha? Pasensya po napakahaba ng message ko hehehe..Maraming salamat po..:)

Wala akong experience sa BIR 2316 kasi yung samin ni hubby pinasa lang namin is proof ng SSS contributions, isang payslip at COE. Umokey naman.

@ Captain_A, @juju06, @ RheaMARN1171933, @jakibantiles Thank you sa mga information na nashare you. actually ang school ko ay under section 3 kaya need ko talaga magsubmit ng PRC. medyo nagiisip din ako if ipursue ko ang Electronics Engineer na nomination or magelectronics trade worker nalang ako under TRA. sabi nila mas madali daw ang requirements sa TRA. any comments on this?
