Hi, meron po bang Civil Engineer here na sa VETASSESS nagpaassess? Nominated skill is Construction Project Manager ANZSCO 133111? Based kase sa job description, mas matched yung work experience ko dun. Thank you in advance.

You based it on the nominated occupation. If you think you’re better suited as Construction Project Manager then you need to go via VETASSESS. It’s all about what you do for work and how it matches the Anzsco definition of tasks.

Better ba chances ng Construction Project Manager vs Civil Engineer this time? Wala sa priority list ung Civil Engineer e, pero yung Construction Project Manager meron. Though wala pa ako nababasa na nagka invite na Construction Project Manager.

I think the best approach is you choose the occupation related to what you do the most and this will dictate which pathway you need to go. All the best.

I received a positive assessment from Engineers Australia for Civil Engineer, however, based on the current priority list, Civil Engineer isn't available while Construction Project Manager is available. Construction Project Management is a branch of Civil Engineering and I happen to practice this so I believe I would be able to get a positive assessment here as well. I have 90 pts for 189. Would you recommend getting VETASSESS assessment for Construction Project Manager or should I just wait it out?

You need to check if construction project manager tasks match yours and if you’re able to meet the eligibility requirements. If yes then I don’t see why it’s not worth a try.

Copy that. Thank you very much for your reply.

    onshore or offshore?

    Offshore ako chief.

For those in the construction industry pero office-based (estimating/QS/bid prep), anong skilled occupation nilagay niyo? Kasi closer to construction yung experience natin pero baka di naman qualified for Construction Project Manager. If Civil Engineer naman, nababasa ko dito yung Civil Engineer parang towards design experience yung hinahanap.

sa vetasses siguro sir, most likely technical lagi hnhanap ng EA which is nakkta tlga sya consultancy firms.

Hello po, puede mag tanong. If current position mo is project manager and kaka promote mo lang year. Puede ba ba mag pa assess sa vetasses? Bale 8 years working in SG. 6 years as project coordinator. Then 2 years project management. Saan po kaya mas okay ang assessment?

Hello everyone! I just wanna gather insights on my case since I just started my research on immigrating to Aus. I am a Civil Engineer working as a QC engineer for horizontal projects for more than 4 years now. I'm not confident if I can pass the skilled assessment sa Engineers Australia since I've been doing more paper works and not so much on the technical on-field work. So I was thinking of getting a VET or an associate degree but the education agent told me it would be risky and masters is the safer route. I'm quite confused why mas risky po yung VET and associate degree? Also, I'm quite hesitant to get masters since it's quite expensive. Would love to hear from everyone. Thank you!

i think your work rights is same as student visa holder has, double check mo to.

yes, CDR is not a requirement for jobs here as long as you fit the job description.

yes, CDR is not a requirement for jobs here as long as you fit the job description.

All depends on what the partner is studying. If masters, you’ll have full work rights.

That’s right, CDR is a requirement for skills assessment for migration purposes and not employment purposes.

Licence doesn’t have any bearing at all unless you studied from a university which isn’t listed under section 1.

It’s your preference in the end. Student visa will get you there faster but there’s no assurance you’ll get your PR. It’s an expensive pathway to PR that’s for sure. When you get there, likely you won’t get a job in your profession. You need to be prepared mentally and emotionally for this as coming to terms with doing odd jobs over there was a struggle my end when I was a student over there knowing the fact that I could get a proper job if I would be back in the Philippines.

With GSM pathway, things are slow at the moment but we’re anticipating news around May regarding migration plans for the new financial year (July 2022 to June 2023). This pathway won’t get you sooner to Australia compared to a student visa but once you’re there, Your future is more secured as you’ll be entering the country on either a PR or Provisional visa. And would be much easier to land a job within your profession. Not to mention the fact that whilst you wait for your application to progress, you’re still working back home, gaining more experience and saving money in preparation for your big move. In short, it may be a slower to step into Australia but you’re preparing for a much smoother transition.

We’ve had a number of cases where clients don’t have licence so shouldn’t be an issue as long as your degree is equivalent to an AQF bachelor degree.

    Hope this helps
