question ko lang po sa vaccination certificate. if coming from PH enough na yun vaxcert from DOH or hahanapin nila yun sa BOQ yun yellow card? my friend kasi ako kakaalis lang for Canada at yun BOQ yellow card ang nirequire sa kanila. so naka think lang ako na baka same din ang required for AUS?
Thanks in advance po.
Iupload mo yung vax cert sa Passenger Declaration Form. Syempre pagnagkaproblem ang technology, bring the hard copy of vax cert.
Kaya ayun. Nakaenclosed parenthesis. No problem. Just upload the vax cert. All good yan. Basta dapat may print out karin. Naupload mo yung vax cert, 3 days before ang earliest.
Buti nalang nandun na siya 4 hours before the departure time.
noted po. thank you!
Pero based from my experience yun DPD printout lang ang hinanap.
Basta galing sa DOH and merong QR Code ba yun. Yung VAX CERT mo naman pakicheck, dapat nakaindicate yung Passport ID Number.
thank you sa reply. my nabasa akong recent post. no need na yata ang DPD
good news po ito para sa amin na coming pa lang. so pagdating sa Aus, yun visa nlang namin ang need ipresent right? and mga vaccination certificcates? nabasa ko din sa NSW na no need na kami magpcr upon arrival. cguru yun 7 days isolation nlang.
another question po,
Yung 189, 190, no need kasi permanent visa yun. Yung 491 based sa experience di ako hinanapan.
example: 491 State Sponsored Stream (Merong state), 482 visa
OEC is for OFWs, technically you are already a resident of another country so I don't think you need OEC. I am not PR yet so cannot confirm.
Thanks for the reply!

Thanks @tigerlance for the reply. So need pa din pla, kahit Permanent Residency na ung visa, employer nomination nga lng sya. When visa grant is received, sinasabi ba ung mga requirements (e.g. CFO, OEC) na need pa ayusin prior to traveling to AU?
hello sir,
ang OEC requirements is hindi nka mention sa Visa grant since sa PH immigration lang cya na requirement. you can check on this blog for the steps on how to acquire OEC for direct hire Filipinos.

Thank you so much po sa reply.

Steps. Assuming Qantas.
1. First inspection regarding your carryon, checkin, and laptop bags. You can bring your relatives up to this point.
2. Pay your travel tax at TIEZA amounting to 1620. Present your visa, passport.
3. Check in your bags. Maximum allowed bags depends on you travel class. Laptop bags and carry-on bags were not subjected to weight. Qantas will issue your ticket and baggage ticket. Present your passport, DPD, and flight itinenary, vaccination certificate to Qantas.
4. Fill up your departure card. Present your passport, visa, departure card, and receipt of travel tax at immigation officer.
5. Proceed for the inspection. Inspection on your carry on and laptop bags. Each laptop will be separated for inspection.
6. Another inspection again for your boarding gate for your carryon and laptop bags.
7. Board to your airline.
8. Fill up your incoming passenger card, 1 hour before. This will be easy if you have a list on the contents of your bags. Ready carefully. Declare food always. It is understood that you have read the border customs do's and dont's.
9. Upon arrival at Sydney Terminal 1, present your incoming passenger card, passport to immigration.
10. Pick-up your check in bags.
11. Present your incoming passenger card to border control.
12. Proceed to another security to show your bag containing the item if it is allowed. If you are not sure, just tick YES.
13. Close your bags. Welcome Sydney.
14. If not, go to Qantas again for domestic to check in your bags.
14.Ride a free bus fare that will head you to Terminal 3.
15.Upon arrival to Terminal 3, another inspection to your carry on and laptop bags.
16.Proceed to your boarding gate.
17.Upon arrival to your domestic destination. Just pick up your check in bags. You are good to go. Sometimes they do charge for the usage of trolley. ($2 AUD coin)
Hi! I would just like to verify. For #10 and 14, does this mean Qantas doesn't do this automatically even if you booked your flight directly from Qantas? We have to get our check in baggages from the first Qantas flight to Sydney and then transfer it ourselves to the next Qantas flight to Adelaide?
Like for us, we're planning to book to Adelaide. And sa Qantas, automatic may layover to Sydney before going to Adelaide.

Yes, after picking-up your luggage, ibag drop mo ulit sa domestic bag drop. Lahat ng states other than sydney, iisa lang pila.

Few years back pre-pandemic ngtravel kmi to Au as tourist my family flew in from the PHL to AU via qantas (kmi nman from Sydney since nauna kmi ng 1wk) yung flight nila PHL-Brisbane-Gladstone (regional qld) yung baggages nila sa Gladstone na nila napick-up pero sa next flight na ng Gladstone na nila nakuha since nsa 1-2hrs lang ang pagitan ng connecting flight nila. Thou i don’t know if this is still the case.

Thanks a lot.

Sa mga 491, 189, or 190 visa holders po dito na nag apply na for a job prior to BIG MOVE at may employer na agad while andito pa sa Pinas, pa share naman po ng experience nyo mga kapatid kung anong mga documents ang kelangan to prepare, baka kasi on this condition, mag hahanap na yung Immigration Officer ng documents from POEA or CFO... Not sure ako dito, sana may makapag share din ng recent experiences.
I would appreciate any inputs you can provide.

IMO, parang hindi na need ng ibang documents other than CFO (for 189 and 190), since immigrant visas na sila, not working visas. Hindi na dapat sila mg.hanap ng ibang docs from you.
But yeah, baka may ibang experiences from others.

Thank you @badblockz for sharing your thoughts 😊 Yan nga din ang inisip ko for 190 & 189, CFO's PDOS lang ang kelangan...kahit na ma direct hire while andito pa sa pinas kasi PR na.
But, for 491 baka may ibang requirements kapag na hire while offshore 🤔 Let's wait for others baka may ganitong experience... 🙂

Hi. For solo big movers out there, may queries lang po ako:
Ilang months po kayo nagprepare?
May checklist kayo ng lahat ng dinala nyo sa Aus?
Paano kayo nakahanap ng accommodation & job?
For single person, mga magkano ang pocket money ang dapat kong dalhin?
Do I need to resign from my current work right away & start preparing for my big move or it can be done simultaneously? Ano po ginawa nyo?
Thank you!

Just moved in here in AU from PH last month, and yes no other documents needed at PH immigration, just boarding pass, passport, departure card. And visa grant/VEVO to prove your visa type.
EricTC:
My visa was granted Nov 2021, so it took me 7 months to prepare. The pandemic hit finances hard so I needed quite a bit longer to save up. And I didn’t want to risk traveling in the midst of the Covid surge... and at that time, Au was still requiring 14 days quarantine upon arrival at your expense. Also I was giving myself time to mentally and psychologically prepare to leave my comfort zone and venture into the unknown as had no friends or relatives there. And to really ponder if this is really what I wanted and reevaluate my life choices and direction.
Upon receiving my visa grant, I made a checklist and a timeline for things to do before leaving and what to bring.
Finding a job in AU is quite challenging honestly. I tried applying while I was still in PH but they don’t seem to be interested while you are offshore. Once in Au, you have to compete against a lot of applicants and naturally those with local experience and local education have the edge. The interview though is really the clincher. Take the time to research on the job and the company, and really showcase your knowledge and skills. It would be helpful to have enrolled in or completed even at least a certificate-level course in the field you are interested in to show you have some level of local education and that you have a background of how it is in the local setting. When you apply, it is usually an employment agency you are in contact with and it may take a few days for your application to be decided on by the actual employer. It is also helpful if you already have the basic paperwork needed for employment, like national police check, working with children check (if applicable), etc.
Looking for accommodations is also quite hard. Because there is currently a housing crisis here, renting is very competitive with few rentals available and high demand. Thus rent is expensive. It’s like applying for a job, literally. Before renting a place, you need to visit it and talk to the landlord personally. It’s like a job interview for the landlord to evaluate you and you to inspect the premises, it’s a legal requirement. You have to prove that you’d be a good renter when you ask to rent the place, one flat I wanted to get into asked me for employment certificate, bank account statements and referrals from previous landlords! Sharehouses are usually the way to go, with 2 or 3 other flatmates. You’ll have a room for yourself, but usually with a shared toilet. Check out Flatmates.com, Gumtree and FB Marketplace. Shop around, look at a few places before deciding on one. Get one at the city center or near your workplace if possible. The rent may be a little more than those at the suburbs but the having less hassle is worth it. After a tiring day at work, commuting for more than an hour is hardly what you’ll need. By the way, when I arrived, I stayed for a week at a hostel and another week an airbnb before I found a flat.
It’s best to bring pocket money good for 2 months’ expenses. Assume that it will take you 2 months to find a job. A rough estimate, in my experience is: Average rent: $250-300/week, average food expense: $100/wk; average transport expense: $20/wk. So about $1,500 a month minimum should be fine.
Prepare for your big move several months in advance, but don’t resign from your job just yet. Buy your ticket and arrange accommodations good for at least two weeks (to allow time to find a flat) at least 3 months before your intended departure. Two months before departure, try to dispose of your car etc. One month before, arrange for SPA’s, call your banks to inform them of your travel, resign and serve notice to your employer. Allow at least a week from last day of work and your travel date for last-minute preparation.
I hope this helps! Good luck on your journey and welcome to Australia!
Thank you for your detailed answer!
May gusto lang po ako iverify as follows:
"Also I was giving myself time to mentally and psychologically prepare to leave my comfort zone and venture into the unknown as had no friends or relatives there. And to really ponder if this is really what I wanted and reevaluate my life choices and direction."
Currently journeying this kind of emotion/feeling with God. It's really a big leap of faith for everyone of us, but no matter how clueless I am right now, I will remain grateful for this BOG blessing & privilege
"Once in Au, you have to compete against a lot of applicants and naturally those with local experience and local education have the edge. "
"When you apply, it is usually an employment agency you are in contact with and it may take a few days for your application to be decided on by the actual employer. "
May I know po ilang months ang inabot bago po kayo na-employ and how many rejections? Also, saang portals po kayo nag-apply and was able to meet employment agency?
"By the way, when I arrived, I stayed for a week at a hostel and another week an airbnb before I found a flat."
Thank you for sharing this reality, kasi di ko to naisip ngayon. Akala ko I can already find/secure a place to stay while I am still here in the PH. Just to have an idea, mga magkano po ang rent sa hostel/airbnb?

While in PH, from more than 5 applications I sent, only one responded. I think I nearly got the job as they took time to interview me, but I guess they were ultimately turned off because I was still offshore. When I arrived in AU, I tried applying immediately, this time updating my resume and cover letters to reflect that I already have a local address and a local contact number (I brought a spare open-line phone and bought a prepaid SIM). I was blessed and fortunate enough that I was interviewed by my employer on my second week in AU and was hired that same week. For this job, I was in communication directly with the hiring manager of the company. I had tried applying via Seek, Indeed and LinkIn.
You can’t arrange for a rental while in PH because it is a requirement that you inspect the place first. When you’re interested in a flat, you message the lessor asking for a date and time when to inspect the place. During the inspection, you’ll talk about the housemates, if any, what you do for a living, the payment schedule, rental duration, expectations like cleaning duties etc. Then you wait for the lessor to hopefully contact you to say that they’ve chosen you to rent the place.
The hostel I stayed in cost A$400 (~P16,000) for a week’s stay and the airBnb was roughly about A$330 (~P13,500) for a week.
Better bring your own laptop, sayang pera to buy a new one haha no restrictions naman with laptops and mobile phones. I brought two phones, one spare for AU SIM and the other with my Globe postpaid SIM.
Hopefully, makapag settle rin ako in Aus in a span of 2 months. Thank you po for these infos.

hello sir,
ang OEC requirements is hindi nka mention sa Visa grant since sa PH immigration lang cya na requirement. you can check on this blog for the steps on how to acquire OEC for direct hire Filipinos.
https://www.liezlasis.com/post/how-to-get-oec-from-poea-direct-hire
actually hindi rin ako sure if need ng OEC ang visa 186 since PR visa cya. but on the safer side try to contact poea nlang po

Thank you so much po sa reply.

Currently journeying this kind of emotion/feeling with God. It's really a big leap of faith for everyone of us, but no matter how clueless I am right now, I will remain grateful for this BOG blessing & privilege
May I know po ilang months ang inabot bago po kayo na-employ and how many rejections? Also, saang portals po kayo nag-apply and was able to meet employment agency?
