So eto mga nangyari sa amin the past 5yrs. Ngayon we are working on another baby :).

    Hi everyone!

Just a question. Sorry, this is already 46 page long and not sure if this was already asked before. After the citizenship ceremony, can I still use my old PH passport to travel to PH with a valid PR visa? Kasi technically, you are an Australian citizen na, but you'll still be using your PH passport. And anong citizenship ilalagay sa mga declaration forms?

If you check yung letter of citizenship approval mo, eto nakalagay dun.
"Once you have attended your ceremony and become an Australian citizen, your permanent
visa will cease and must not be used for re-entry into Australia. If you intend to travel outside
Australia, you will need to apply for an Australian passport"

I think hindi ka makakabalik if PH passport gamit mo at wala kang visa. Kailangan mo ire-claim yun

Hello @xiaolico. Thanks for your quick reply! I'm still in the process of applying for citizenship. I'll have my interview and test in December. I have a scheduled travel in March next year. You can move/delay naman your ceremony po diba in case the timelines don't match?

    Thank you!

Yes, alam ko puwede. And before ng test, yung Case Officer will ask you if you have any travel plans. Puwede mo din sabihin dun para they can schedule your ceremony invite after ng trip mo.

Hi Everyone, just new here po and nasa process kme to start applying for our citizenship. Question lang po we had a free consultation sa Agent and they said we will need to get some Police clearance sa mga Country na pinagstayan nmen for a year in the last 10 years is that right ba ? kce before I think may nabasa ako na once you received your Resident visa if you stay somewhere outside australia for for more than 90 days thats when they require you for a police clearance sa country na yun. It just doesn’t make sense na we have to get new Police clearance sa ibang country when we already submit that police clearance nung nagapply kme for residence visa and since we had a Residence visa approve we went straight sa Australia without staying in any other country for more than 90days. If anyone can Advice me po. Salamat.

According to the documents requirement online you only need it with below condition:
"If you have spent a total of 12 months or more outside Australia since we granted you a permanent visa, you need to give us overseas police certificates from every country, including your home country, where you have spent a total of more than 90 days since you turned 18."

From your post sabi nyo po hindi naman kayo nag stay elsewhere since visa grant. How long did it take you po to move from your base country to Australia after the visa grant? Moved to Australia within 12 months of visa grant?

Another condition where it will be required is if you are holidng a subclass 444 visa.

Hi po, Thank you sa pagreply, un dn nga nakita ko before if you stay somewhere more than 12months you will need to provide the police clearance from that country.

Actually when we received our visa grant sa base country nmen we stayed there less than 90 days kce nagvisit kme sa UK for 2weeks then we returned sa base country nmen for 3 weeks tas pumnta na kme sa Australia. Kaya I’m not sure why the Agent is requiring us to get a pcc sa base country nmen before and other countries na we stayed in for the last 10yrs before we even received our grant. Is it because the Agents are just making sure that we have it incase irequire but getting a police clearance sa ibang country can take up to 3months. Do you think po we can just provide our old police clearance na we submitted nung nagaapply kme for residence visa just for reference? Not sure nga if worth it ba mag Agent kce they are quoting us $1800 and seems like here sa forum everyone is doing it by themselves.

Kasi if you check yung DOHA, suggested to use an agent pag immigration assistance lang. Hindi citizenship application. I did mine this year, hindi ako nag agent. hindi din ako hiningan ng NBI clearance. pag kulang naman kasi yung documents, hihingin naman nila sa yo yung kulang. I am not sure sa agent, but just check if registered sila. eto yung site to check if registered yung agent. pero pang immigration lang ata to. not sure eh.

As far as I know for police clearances, there might be a validity period so baka po kung ginamit nyo for PR visa before e hindi na valid? Highly possible that the agents are just trying to cover all the bases, pero baka nga po hindi nyo na kailangan.

I can't really comment on agency kasi I think this is a matter of preference. My partner and I always apply by ourselves po kasi (visitor visa, PR visa, and now citizenship). Mas kampante lang ako na I know all the requirements, fields that have been answered, and the documents I have uploaded in relation to what is required.

If you ever want to do it by yourself, this forum has been really helpful. Aside from that, all information are online and are itemised almost always very clearly.

Hi po Good morning, tanong lang po ulet incase someone knows po kce we are now doubting if we are eligible to actually apply for citizenship now. Case po kce nmen we visited Aus nung 2018 Nov with 1yr validity and then we got our PR grant while we have our tourist visa still valid. Would that count po ba as initial entry nung pumasok kme nung 2018 Nov with Tourist Visa or should we start on the Initial entry nmen with PR visa? Maraming salamat po sa mkakasagot

@ArchLab1 Hindi ma-count yung visitor visa entry nyo sa residency because the PR visa was granted when you are not in Australia. So yung count for residency requirement will start on your May 2019 entry.

Eto po yung residence calculator. Para ma-meet yung 4 years residency you should apply on May 2023. Your permanent residence date and your lawful residence date parehas po na May 2019.

Time consuming talaga siya.

Agree. Base sa experience ko though the calculator is most of the time accurate, pero ang application parin ang last checker, kasi di nga mag proceed kung di pa satisfied ang years of residence.

Baka may same case dito. Tinatanong ang wife ko kung she want her middle name included during interview. She chooses no, kasi ang immiaccount walang middle name.

Kami, well citizen na kami now. Wala ata difference if PR or citizen. I think same lang, license, passport (PH or AU), pag PR ka, of course visa. Yung right to vote lang.

    Happy new year guys!

Nakapagsubmit na din kame ng partner ko ng application after almost 2 months process na pagkuha lang ng sg coc, from when we scheduled our fingerprints here in our local police to receiving the certificates today from SPF .. hindi na ko makakahintay ng another day para lang ma-attach uli lahat ng docs namen and ma-submit.. :D We're hoping na magkaron ng movement within the next 9-12 months ang application. Anyone na kakasubmit lang or about to submit anytime soon?

a year from now, you will wish you had started today
