Results of IELTS last February 2, 2013 are finally out!

I got L-7.5 R-7.5 S-8.0 W-6.5

Should I ask for a remark? How long would it take to get results? And how much? I took my IELTS with IDP.

@islaman I think you should try out remarking, isang module na lang sayo, it cost 7k and waiting period of 8 weeks.

I got a heartbreaker also:
L-8.0 R-7.0 S-6.5 W-6.0

I already knew medyo sabit ako sa writing but speaking hmm... Anyway! Charge to experience

May sinuwerte ba sa batch natin? Almost made it but not quite

L-9.0 R-8.5 W/S-6.5 OBS:7.5

I would like to take IELTS again but since tax season namin, I probably wouldn't have enough time to review/practice for the writing and speaking component. Siguro by May or June na lang ulit ako take. I thought I did well on writing portion pero hindi pala. I'm considering having my scores remarked since no plans to take din naman in the next 2-3 months.

Writing:
Task 1- Write a letter informing your neighbor that you're going away for a week (atleast 150 words)
Task 2 - Cultures are becoming more and more similar (Discuss reasons why and Do you think it has positive negative effect.)(atleast 250 words)

Speaking:
Discuss something about yourself, job etc..
Some questions about Bags
2 min free speaking topic (Most memorable travel experience)
Some questions/Discussion about living in the city and countryside (Which do you prefer, reasons etc..)

Ok naman po nakuha kong score ksa IELTS sa awa ng Diyos, kaso I am eyeing sana for 20points kse ung ACS ko baka 3 yrs lng maapprove sakin since my ex-company (where i worked for 3 yrs) did not give me a detailed COE.

I am now praying hard na sana lumabas na today yung ACS results that I lodged last December 18th para umabot sa Feb 18 round of invites..

Try ko nga magparemark. I was surprised dun sa result ng writing ko kasi medyo confident ako. Medyo sumobra pa nga ata sa required words ung saken eh. Hopefully, tumaas xa after ng remarking.

hi guys... i took the IELTS exam twice... first in january and then yesterday.

here's my two cents on how to prepare for the IELTS exam...

1. Cambridge reviewer is THE ANSWER.

I did not enroll to any review classes. I studied on my own, using only this reviewer.

2. Prepare. I got 6 in writing the first time I took the exam because I had difficulty managing my time. I made the mistake of over thinking everything which caused me to erase a lot of what I had written. I researched tips online on how to manage my thoughts to not repeat this.

3. Practice the modules that you know you are weak at. It is good to do self assessment. This would help you focus on the modules that might give you the low score. Avoid the heartbreaking result of getting 6 in just one module!

4. Make time to learn how to organize your thoughts and time.

5. Psych yourself to think positive! Optimism never hurt anyone. If you think you'll get the score you need, your body will respond.

6. PRAYERS! Only God can grant the wishes of our hearts.

I took the exam for the second time yesterday and I walked out happy. I was prepared and now I'm looking forward to getting the results on the 27th.

@burberry Nagpa remark kc ako nung speaking, bka sakali ma adjust. If not take ulit as soon as possible. Regarding COE, kumpleto na yung skin. Fortunately, nkahingi ako sa dati kong boss ng may detailed duties. Nag IELTS kna?

Over-all band score: 9.0

Wow!!! Ang taas! Nakaka inspire naman tong score mo. ( nag back read ako at nakita ko to sa page 6 hehe)

@jaggedsoul Hi! Just to inspire you na mag pa-remark... i saw from previous posts that @mark_y applied for remarking before and his band on Writing was adjusted from 6.5 to 7.0. While, @icebreaker1928 also had successful remarking result on Speaking, from 6.0 to 7.0

useful po ang mga techniques sa Ace the IELTS, napakalaking tulong. kaya mejo ok din results ng exam ko, mejo sumablay lng ako sa writing, kulang sa oras at masakit na din kamay ko

OBS does not matter.. it should be the score in each band..

There are several considerations:
a) 6 in each band is the minimum requirement... but you wont get any score for EOI points..
b) minimum score required by your assessing authority
c) minimum score by your State if you require State Sponsorhip..

so what ever is the highest requirement among these factors, that is what you need to satisfy..

Aim for 7 in all bands but don't be disheartened if you don't get that score. There are many ways to secure a visa
