    Hi everyone,

I took the PTE APEUni mock test and in two runs, I got the following scores:

Enough na ba to get 79+ in each band in the real PTE exam or did you still took the official PTE mock test para ma-gauge yung real scores? I'm still anxious about my borderline score in the speaking exam, probably due to the quality of my headset recording or the algorithm ni APEUni. Thanks a lot sa sasagot.

@JMDEJESUS88 may i know po what template ang ginamit nyo for DI and RL? Thank you!

Not sure if may nagbago na po sa rules pero iyong nag exam po ako last year you're not allowed to take off the mask po during the exam kahit speaking section.

    Halo guys,

Share ko lang my experience on my recent PTE Academic exam last friday. I have prepared for around one week intensive self-study, yung goal ko is to get at least proficient 65+, Thank God, I was able to achieved it on fist take only. I'm so happy with my result and I'm very grateful on this thread coz dito ko lang nalaman si APE UNI App. Initially, nag purchase lang ako ng Scored Practice Test sa Pearson site mismo then I took those mock up test there twice. I also purchased Exam Bank Questions sa Person site and then eventually dito ko nalaman si APE UNI App, I immediately purchased yung one month VIP nila.

First mock up exam, Scored Pratice Test A, no study preparations I got 60 over all :D
Second mock up exam, Scored Pratice Test B, slight study preparations I got 62 over all exam
Then, everyday intensive study for around 1 week including Sat/Sun
Third mock up exam two days before the actual exam, sa APE Uni overall score 69, yung Writing ko dito 64 lang.

Then actual examm, I was so surprised and super happy that I made it, I couldn't even believe my result.
Ito yung na achieve ko na scores sa PTE Exam overall score 78, Speaking 90 / Writing 66 / Listening 78 / Reading 69. Thank you Lord. o:)

    Expenses:
    PTE Academic Exam Booking 12,359
Pearson Scored Practice Tests Reviewer 3, 235
    Pearson Questions Bank Reviewer 1,105
APE Uni 1 month VIP 749
    Total PHP 17, 448

I'm so glad that I was able to achieve my desired score on first take only and I don't have to take multiple exam, and it saves time for me talaga, especially if meron kang full time work. Medyo challenging din yung actual exam, kasi on the test date madami pala kami, so nung sa Speaking na part, maririnig mo ibang mga examinees sa ibang cubicle at medyo makaka lost focus especially sa Read Aloud :D then nakamask pa kayo, challenge din sakin yung sa typing, sa macbook ako ng self-study very soft lng yung keys mag type dito tsaka kabisado nako dito kay for how many years na ako nka macbook hehe then, yung sa keyboard ng actual exam, parang di ako comfortable kasi everytime mag type ako slow ng response niya hehe parang late yung typing response niya pero na kaya naman. :D I just made sure na saktong yung mga spelling/grammar etc, super na challenge talaga ako sa Keyboard hehehe.

Just sharing my experience, that you guys can do it as well. God Bless.

Kamusta po? Need din ba magpractice with background noise included?

To be honest, medyo bothered ako nung unang part ng exam (RA/RS/DI/RL)... kase magkakasabay-sabay na nagsasalita. mukang maganda naman yung headset provided sa testing center at ndi naman masyado naririnig nung nag-audio check. try to ignore the noise na lang po kase medyo nakakawala din ng focus kapag nasanay ka na magreview at mock exams na walang ingay sa paligid. Additional challenge na din cguro yan hehehe. Waiting pa din ako sa result, hopefully today or tomorrow. Goodluck!

Yas, finally may result na! Laking tulong ng ApeUni for practice... wag lang magrely sa scoring ni ApeUni kase medyo strict talaga AI nila... Just focus on practicing each types of questions...
Happy at nakuha ko ang target score :)

Congratulations po! FOr PR po ba ito or for study?

Thanks, this is for PR po.

You can do it too. Just prepare well enough for the different types of test. Check which parts of the exam has the highest % in terms of points, make sure you ace them.

Study how to Summarize written text and how to write essays. (There are tips from APEUNI to ace them).

You still have alot of time.

I tried chopping ung sentence into phrases but minsan, nawawala ung ibang words pero ung thought andun pa rin. I also tried writing ung first letter ng every word para I have reference when repeating them na, pero pag mabilis na ung speaker, di ko na narerecord ung last 2-3 words. Huhu.

Hi, for repeat sentence have enough practice kahit di graded. Muscle memory lang yan at talagang nangyayari yung nalilimutan yung ibang parts.

For exam preps, nothing beats a relaxed mind with enough sleep. Eat healthy once the exam is few days away. (Para sa brain yan ika nga).

Now for the mindset, focus lang. I have tried writing the first letter. Di effective sakin as in una mahirap mag alala ano pinagsusulat tpos malilimutan mo entire thought.

What worked for me is to listen lang and repeat sa utak yung mga sinabi. Just pray that you will get not so so long sentences. Sabi nila if may malimutan ka, damay mk yung last 3 4 words sa dulo heheh. Nag kamali din ako few words sa repeat sentence kasi mahaba, 90 din naman nakuha ko.

Mahirap talaga yung susubukan mong alalahanin bawat word. Two things could be helpful:

    1) Memorising flow of concepts, if mas visual learner ka lalo, as if they're scenes in a movie or show. That might help you remember yung nangyayari sa sentence, then put them to words, instead of just reciting yung words robotically. For example, if the sentence is "The teacher told the class to submit their assignments by Friday" then it might help you to have an image in your head nang teacher na nasa harap ng class.

    2) Translate into Tagalog (or kung anumang dialect/language that comes most naturally to you) in real time. I did this both for PTE and my CCL exam, and it helped me a lot. Pero I would just take keywords and do shortcuts. For example, for "The teacher told the class to submit their assignments by Friday" ang magiging mental note ko ay "Teacher sabi class assignment Friday". Then fill in na lang yung blanks.

If you get what's happening in the sentence, I think that makes it so much easier to remember. Writing it per word will slow you down kasi ipprocess mo pa sya as something you hear + written form, whereas visual mental models like the two above are quicker.

    Sana naka/makahelp!

required po face mask during exam sa pearson makati?

just took the exam yesterday, March 13th, sa Makati PTE testing center and yes po mandatory pa din ang facemask. medyo awkward lang pero try to practice din sa bahay with facemask on para lang mafeel mo.

Kamusta po? Need din ba magpractice with background noise included?

To be honest, medyo bothered ako nung unang part ng exam (RA/RS/DI/RL)... kase magkakasabay-sabay na nagsasalita. mukang maganda naman yung headset provided sa testing center at ndi naman masyado naririnig nung nag-audio check. try to ignore the noise na lang po kase medyo nakakawala din ng focus kapag nasanay ka na magreview at mock exams na walang ingay sa paligid. Additional challenge na din cguro yan hehehe. Waiting pa din ako sa result, hopefully today or tomorrow. Goodluck!

Yas, finally may result na! Laking tulong ng ApeUni for practice... wag lang magrely sa scoring ni ApeUni kase medyo strict talaga AI nila... Just focus on practicing each types of questions...
Happy at nakuha ko ang target score :)

Wow! Congratulations po. :) Hoping I could have these scores too. I will be taking mine po on the 4th of April. Any tips po before taking the exam?

You can do it too. Just prepare well enough for the different types of test. Check which parts of the exam has the highest % in terms of points, make sure you ace them.

Study how to Summarize written text and how to write essays. (There are tips from APEUNI to ace them).

You still have alot of time.

    __

Thank you for this po! Also, may I know your technique po for Repeat Sentence? I tried chopping ung sentence into phrases but minsan, nawawala ung ibang words pero ung thought andun pa rin. I also tried writing ung first letter ng every word para I have reference when repeating them na, pero pag mabilis na ung speaker, di ko na narerecord ung last 2-3 words. Huhu.

Hope other peeps here can also share their techniques. Thank youu!

    __

Ohh! These techniques can be helpful. I have tried the first one, although nawawala po minsan ung mga adjectives or conjunctions. Huhu. I think I might try the second or try both of these techniques simultaneously.

Yep, I agree! Then I noticed rin po na it took me longer time to process ung mga corresponding words dun sa first letter of every word before I even speak them.

Thank you po for these technique tips! <3

If you have APEUNI, there is a part there where there are practice lessons for RS. Listen to the available recordings of each students, tapos madidinig mo yung mga tipong mumble lang ng mumble sa gitna sabay sa dulo buo yung last few words. (Not really 90/80/ 70 pero makikita mo parang yung AI is medyo forgiving kahit madaming mali).

    Check Jimmysem also for RS.

Thanks po! Since medyo matagal pa naman ang exam mo, i suggest daily practice lang sa ApeUni is more than enough. Be sure to cover sa practice yung lahat ng types of questions. ApeUni lang po ang ginamit ko, cguro nakarami din akong take ng Mock Exams. don't be bothered sa AI scoring ni ApeUni, medyo strict ang scoring nila meaning mas mababa ang scoring nila compared sa actual PTE exam.
