@lock_code2004, thanks sa response. for us who graduated from the phils, what is the assessment being given by EA?

for my case it will be similar to bachelor of science in engineering graduates in the philippines which is 10 years of primary/secondary education, followed by 5 years of university studies (no masteral units).

marami pong factor to consider.. but one main factor is your school, they have a classification/sectioning of schools in the philippines... for example if your degree is from a section 1 school (UP/UST/DLSU/Ateneo), it is most like be assessed as comparable to AU degree, therefore you can claim 15 pts..

again. that is only one of the many factors, marami pong considerations, like course content, your grades, professional registration (prc)....

but based on experience of most of us here, for example my degree is from Section 1, so I got an assessment equivalent to AU degree..

@lock_code2004, thanks again sa response, i'm actually from PLM. saan ko pala pwede makita yung "sectioning" ng schools, may reference doc ba that i could view from EA?

Share ko lang din yung sa case ng isang friend ko....She's a graduate of Meralco Foundation (BSECE) which i assume is not a section 1 school. And she did not take the board. She was assessed as equivalent to Professional Engineer.

She worked as a technician for 4 years sa same company where i worked, and then got promoted as engineer, that is when she submitted the CDR.

Mukhang marami ngang factors at sa case nung friend ko na yun mukhang very considerate yung EA sa mga naging credentials nya. Although she did not pursue Oz anymore, after she got married and moved to the US

@aussiestotle - you can be assessed as Prof Engineer, regardless of your school...
but their education qualification might be assessed as AU degree/diploma .. this will matter in claiming your EOI points..

there is a link on the top/header of this site "Accredited Schools"..
you can check the section/classification of your school..

Another question, EA requires the "Original TRF" of the IELTS to be sent directly from the Test Center... I will be taking the GT exam this March at the British Council here in Bangkok... According to the BC website, they will issue only one Original TRF to the examinee (either by pick-up or they will send it through express mail, after 13 days).... Could I request BC to send the Original TRF to EA instead?

Also, if I get invited to apply, what proof of IELTS examination is required by DIAC.... do they also require the "Original TRF"... or can I provide them the TRF "copies" the BC will issue?

@aussiestotle - yes meron naman pong mga from section 2 schools na na-assessed as AU degree..

regarding IELTS:
- yes you will ask your testing center to send original copy to EA. check with them (BC bangkok), malamang may additional fee yung pag send sa EA..
- you will need the original TRF as well for your own record.. keep it
- sa pag-apply ng EOI/SS/DIAC, you will just need soft copy.. so scan it (colored), and you will just submit it online..

@lock_code2004 sir question ulit..

Scenario: experience ko po is more than 3 years related sa nominated skill ko.....sa CV included lahat ng experiences ko with another 5months related work experience pero sa CDR report ang ginawa ko lang is from the 2 latest employment ko po. tapos yung 2nd COE ko is dated Oct 2012, so less than 3 years lang sya technically. iaassess po ba nila up to present or hanggang sa date lang po ng COE? Si DIAC po ba magdedecide sa years para makuha ko yung 5points para sa work experience?

In case po ba lumipat ako ng company eh makuha ko na yung 5 points if ang included dates ay from August 2009-Feb 2013 ?

ang bagal ng EA pala...currently September 27, 2012 pa lang...pero oks na rin, October 15, 2012 kame nagpasa...sana maging smooth na by next week... :-)

Current assessment turnaround time

Regularly updated advice on the dates of applications under current process may be sought by sending a blank email to [email protected] with the sole word 'Status' in the email subject line. You will receive an automatic response.

Generally, for:

Non-accredited qualifications – turnaround is currently about 19 weeks from the date of receipt. Note this time can be highly variable depending on numbers of incoming applications

Wala naman po nakalagay sa email nila kundi yung "Current Turnaround Time ng Assessment" Kaya ko po naman nalaman na April yung akin is binilang ko yung weeks ng assessment from the date dun sa EA Receipt (Kung kailan nila natanggap). Ang binigay nila is 16weeks. So for my case po that is approximately 3rd week to the last week of April. Automated generic yung reply nila.

By the way ngayon ko lang nabasa mayroon nakasulat na ganito sa huli nung email.

"Please make due allowance for delivery times per Australian Post, etc"

So medyo hindi ko na ieexpect na mag-eemail sila ng scanned copy bago ko makuha yung tunay na copy. Well kung may dumating man na email e di oks din. hehe!

@lock_code2004 Bro bale nung nagsend ka ng IELTS TRF sa EA... yung mismong "Original" na TRF ang pinadala mo? Meaning wala ka nung Original... Copy lang ang nasayo?

Nakausap ko kasi yung BC Bangkok, and they confirmed na they could send the "Original" TRF to EA.... plus kung may gusto pa daw ako padalhan ng "Copy of the Original" TRF, pwede rin daw up to 5 different Institutions... for Free.

By the way, would you suggest na mag-take muna ako ng IELTS before completing the draft of my CDR.. currently ginagawa ko pa sya, which means baka mauna pang dumating sa EA yung IELTS results ko, before ko maipasa yung CDR application ko... may kaso ba yun?

1. yes, BC should send directly to EA. (i dont know though if its a copy or original)
2. But, I have an original copy as well for my record.

walang problema kung mauna ang Ielts results..
ganyan din ginawa ko.. ielts sept 2011, pero i submitted my CDR after 3 months.

first, OBS score is useless.. so you need to give the score in each band..
2nd, your question is so vauge "kung may chance or not"... if you can just look at the EOI points system, you will now ang total points mo...

or if you can share your details, (age, work exp, degree, ielts score in each band), we can give you more inputs..

lol. oo nga. i was wondering if i still have a chance of getting a visa kahit ganun yung score ko. anyway L-8.5; R-8.0; W-7.0; S-7.0 are my score for each band. i'm 33, licensed CE, have been working since 2003. i have a higher diploma in urban and regional planning, di ko napractice. puro engineering yung work ko.

now, i'm preparing my CDR. nalilito na ako what to do next eh. i'll be sending this to EA for sure, but di ko alam kung which engineering ako. like tehcnologist, associate or the professional.

@piglet24 - good.. mataas na ang score mo.. given na IELTS 6.5 lang ang requirement ng EA..
at IELTS 7.0 in each band naman para maka-score gn 10 pts sa EOI..

so im assuming with your details you can get atleast 65pts (which is more than the passmark 60pts)
Age - 25 pts
IELTS - 10pts
Work - 15pts (assuming you'll get all work exp assessed by EA)
Educ Qual - 15 pts (assuming your educ qualification is assessed as equivalent to the standards of an AU degree, otherwise its 10pts for AU diploma)

my suggestions:
1. read EA migration booklet.. that is all you need for your CDR
2. prepare all required docs: COE+ Job Description, Payslips
3. read this thread to get insights about EA assessment..

question naman po sa mga ECE jan...nakapagparenew na ba kayo license nyo?need na kasi ng CPE points....kung sakali kakailanganin ba sa DIAC na renewed ang license or ok na yung certificate na galing sa PRC? Salamat po

@lock_code2004 - thanks a bunch. i feel better already. i hope i get a good educ qual. i had my BS at AdDU and my higher diploma from UP-Mindanao. about that payslip. ati kasi akong nag work sa dpwh. and wala kaming payslip. i asked for a salary cert instead, ok lang ba yun? thanks.

Hello sa lahat, I'm curretly working on the draft of the CDR. Luckily dun sa previously company ko, documented namin through Memo System yung mga analyses and reports namin sa mga projects... Regarding CDR, is it necessary na mag-include ng mga illustration, graphs, and drawings? Karamihan kasi nung mga ginagawa ko dati was semiconductor transistor-level analysis, saka mga device characterization kaya may mga graphs... medyo challenging sya i-describe through words ata.....

Although may mga nakita akong CDRs na purely words lang ang ginamit...

Sir I am not an ECE pero ako din po expired ang PRC license. I don't know about ECE po pero sa amin parang wala din bearing kung expired na since PRC Certificate lang po yung pinasa ko and nung isang tropa na nagpasa dati. ME po pala ako.

According po sa mga thread dito na advices ng mga idol, anything na magpapatunay po ng inyong pagiging empleyado sa isang institusyon na inyong pina-"assess" ay pwede na po. Kumbaga ay ilabas niyo na po lahat ng baraha niyo, yung iba po ay Bank Statement nung payroll account nila to prove yung pumapasok na pera, yung iba naman po ay yung mga payslips, mayroon ding nagpapasa nung mga ITR for each year of employment, yung iba naman ay signed yearly appraisal slips from the company, etc.

Anything na magpoprove po will do as to what I have read here.

is that Ateneo de Davao U?.. if yes, then thats a Section 1 School, plus you MS from UP..
most definitely you will get an assessment comparable to an AU degree (which you can claim 15 pts)..

regarding payslip;
- kung may salary cert, that is fine, but you can have other proof kung kaya mo pang makuha
- ITR per year..
- or bank statement showing your salary remittances monthly

if you really think na necessary yung illustrations.. why not..
wala namang specific requirements ang EA about how you write your CDR..

the objective is to show how you demonstrate your engineering skills/competencies..
make sure lang na tama ang mga diagrams mo... hehe..

Palagay ko naman po there is no problem to put graphs in the CDR kasi sa pagkakaalam ko wala naman sila binanggit sa Migration Skills Assessment booklet ng EA. Although take note lang sir na sabi din dun na "Do not present large amounts of technical material". So basta maiintindihan ng assessor yung graphs, I don't think it will be a problem.
