Good day, ako po nag susupervised practice na dito po sa aus, kung hindi po accredited ng AHPRA yung school niyo is pag boboard eexamin po kayo. Bali english exam po muna tapos air and ahpra pwede po pagsabayin

    Sir Good afternoon.
I'm working as Radtech for 11 years local and abroad then this coming December po flight ko pa Sydney under provisional permanent. May mga question lang po ako kasi nabasa ko na mostly mga responses mo sir and kindly correct me if I'm wrong.

1st step is - English exam (kailangan po ba IELTS ?)

    2ND - AIR and AHPRA?

Hi dumaan po ako sa ASMRIT and got the outcome lastweek. It didn't went well 🥺 due to grounds like subjects di daw po align sa curriculum nila. I had more than 3years of experience as xray and mostly ct tech. Still and pinaka basis nila yung curriculum. Gusto ko mag appeal pero baka di worth it dahil pandemic i know ma push lang ako magaral.

How did your skills assessment with ASMIRT go po? Ano po result nun? Successful po ba?

Temporary Resident sir. By the way sir approved na yung application ko sa Ahpra. May upcoming exam this coming October pero baka next year na ako mag take. Review muna ng maayos. Hehe! Bu the way sir @noyskie17, baka may mga alam kang website or kung ano man magandang review materials.

Got here in AU December last year as (temporary resident) then nag take ng PTE academic nung March. I submitted my application (using AGOS91 form na downloadable sa site ng Ahpra) sa Ahpra last June and ngayong September lang natapos yung assessment sakin. Though marami kasi hiningi like Good standing certificate from PRC and SCFHS (Saudi commission)
Required ng Ahpra na direct isesend sakanila yung Good standing certificate galing PRC and kung saan man na country ka may experience and registered like Saudi, dubai etc.
SCFHS - kailangan mo mag create ng account and apply for classification.

Hi po, asking for a friend.

Eto po ba ang usual steps for Medical Radiographer Application to Aus?

    1. English Test - PTE/IELTS
    2. Skills Assessment - ASMIRT
    3. Professional Registration - APHRA
    4. Apply EOI
    5. Apply for Visa once invited

    My other questions:

    1. At which stage do we start APHRA? Is it while ASMIRT assessment is on-going as they are separate assessing bodies?

    2. Is Professional exam for radiographer taken from overseas or onshore after arriving to Australia?

Happy to hear all of your experiences and insights.

    Thanks heaps!

Hi sir @D29 ok po ba exam niyo nun April?

Di po ako pinalad nung April sir. So nag re-take ako ng October. Supposedly July yung 2nd take ko pero nag request ako sa Aphra through my case officer na October mag take. Bali yung first attempt ko sir, di ako totally umasa na makukuha or papasa agad. Pumasa po ako sa 4 na domain pero nadali ako sa 1 domain which is I think ct scan. Bright side naman sir mas naging aware ako pano i-manage yung time sa exam and panong preparation for 2nd attempt.

hello po! fresh graduate po ako ng radtech ng SLU and i recently passed the board exams po last december 2023. i spent my time reading the comments and suggestions here po sa forum na ito. and sana po may makatulong. hindi ko po kasi alam kung ano po magandang pathway so i can work as a radiographer in australia, kasi ang hirap po i weigh yung pros and cons for each pathway. gusto ko po sana yung makakasave po ng time and yung mas makakamura po sana sa part namin.

i have no spouse in australia, only relatives. i have no work experiences yet. only yung 1 year clinical internship na kasama po sa curriculum namin.

option 1: should i study a masteral degree? or hindi po siya worth it? since cinoconsider din po namin yung tuition for 2 years. ang nasabi po kasi saakin na pro dito is madali nalang po kumuha ng PR after studying. inisip ko po kasi na mas maganda po ata yung school for 2 years [kesa sa experience na 3 years] kasi may advantage po ako sa APHRA exam and di ko na po need mag apply for ASMIRT

option 2: should i gain experience here in the ph first? if so, strict po ba sila sa mga hospitals na pinasukan niyo? [i.e., should i have experience sa CT, UTS and other modalities other than xray? or should i be employed in hospitals sa NCR since mas kilala po sila?] i am consideing these factors kasi kinakabahan po ako baka kulangan sa skills assessment ng ASMIRT.

also po, baka makabigay po kayo ng estimate costs and tagal po sa mga nagastos niyo during your application.

hoping na may makasagot po sa queries ko, especially sir @noyskie17 and ma'am @thesarahvee since kayo po yung pinaka active dito. thank yous in advance po!

Hello @numbbug! Congratulations po sa pag pasa sa board! Hmmmm if I'm not mistaken sir, at least 2 or 3 years work experience ang Kino-consider ng Ahpra. (not 100% sure) although most countries naman po usually required or preferred nila may work experience. I would suggest po na gain work experience muna especially with other modalities such as CT or MRI. In regards po sa masteral, ang advantage mo sir mag gain ka ng better knowledge "theoretical" but on the other side, like what you've mentioned matagal and magastos. Also, pag dating mo dito sa AU usually you would start po sa level 1 ( supervised practice) or level 2 (depending po sa years of work experience mo)
So, kung ako po nasa situation mo, I would just focus gaining clinical hands on experience.
When it comes naman po sa kung ano hospital, wala naman pong naka indicate na dapat private or public. But better po yung papasukan mo is medyo advanced or modern ang machines.
But again, opinion ko lang po ito and again congrats po! Good luck po🙏☺️

hi po @D29! thank you po for responding to my query. super helpful po nito! baka nga po gawin ko nalang po yung option 2, which is to gain clinical experience. employed na din po ako as of now, so, will update here nalang after 2-3 years HAHAHA. anyway, thank you po ulit and ingat din po kayo lahat jan!
