Hi everyone, I am currently waiting for an update in Visa 189. I was invited on 06Oct22 with 65 points (actually 60 points). EA only assessed my Bachelor's Degree as Associate Degree (which I can claim only 10 points) due to No PRC License. Civil Engineer ako btw, I lodged my application and claimed Bachelors Degree in order to get the 15 points. I read in the bottom of my EA assessment na DHA pa din yun magdedecide sa pag award ng points kaya nag claim pa din ako ng Bachelors and nag attached ng some relevant documents para ma prove yun Bachelors degree ko.

25Mar23 - I received S56, i was expecting that it will be about my degree, but No, they only asked me for the medical of my 3 years old daughter na nag change ng passport. (My status immediately changed into Initial Assessment)

02May23 - I found out that they already corrected the spelling of my name sa IMMI Account but still the status is Further Assessment.

Worried lang ako if may marereceived pa ba ako 2nd CO contact after this. Over claimed po ako ng 5 points if based sa documents.

    Points Breakdown:
Age: 25 points (I'm turning 39yo in few more days)
Study: 15 points (As per EA assessment, I can only claim 10 points as Associate Degree)
Exp: 15 points (In my RSEA they counted all my experience at that time which is 14yrs+)
English: 10 points (barely gets proficient)
Spouse: 0 points (I didn't claim for this, we just attached his CEMI)

    We are Family of 4.

Wow this is interesting. First time ko maka rinig (well basa) ng ganitong case na 60 points, pero nag self-claim ng 65 hoping to get through and got invited. Hopefully it works out for you, pero ang risky.

1 more year bababa na ng 10 points yun age ko.

Worst case scenario is ma-grant visa niyo, then DHA finds out na overclaimed points pala, baka madeport pa kayo.

Did you try raising it to EA in the first place why they assessed it as Associate degree?

Like the others said, sobrang risky nung situation. I can only imagine, ma-grant man yung visa, you should always be on your toes thereafter because the DHA/whoever might come after you for that. Worse, baka umabot pa ng court trial because for sure you will try to fight them in case they come after you since in the first place they granted your visa.

But see, all that trouble and unease for that one risk that you took.

Here's to hoping it will end well for you. Crossing fingers.

EA said I need the PRC License in order to be assessed as Bachelors. (During skills assessment period)

In between during EOI (I did assessment in other institution and they certified my degree as equivalent to four years bachelors degree)

    (After Invitation)
I also explained that in my letter when I lodged my application in my IMMI account. I never hide anything, i will accept whatever the DHA decision. I posted my case hoping to know if someone already been in the same situation like me.

I see so wala kang PRC license? Thing is EA kasi ang recognised assessing body ng DHA for Engineering and related disciplines. So, I guess no one knows whether they will accept any 'second opinion'.

But yeah, best of luck to you. Hopefully it ends well. :)

Last comment, kung may chance kayo mas ok kung mag consult ka with a migration lawyer. To have more peace of mind.

Question po pala sa mga waiting for Visa Grants - how are you currently preparing for your future home/place to stay in AU?

Do you already have an apartment there waiting for you?

If yes, how did you arrange it while overseas?
If not, saan po kayo mag sstay once you land?

Worst case scenario is ma-grant visa niyo, then DHA finds out na overclaimed points pala, baka madeport pa kayo.

I don't know if it's too late, kasi waiting for Visa Grant ka na, pero if you are only lacking is 5 points sana mag attempt ka nalang ng NAATI CCL instead of overclaiming? May peace of mind ka pa diyan, if ever.

To add to this, a Competent Score for your Spouse in PTE (At least 50 in each) is enough to get you +5 points. Baka po hindi pa too late since mag 39 ka palang po - you still have a year?

Did you try to raising it to EA in the first place why they assessed it as Associate degree?

Like the others said, sobrang risky nung situation. I can only imagine, ma-grant man yung visa, you should always be on your feet thereafter because the DHA/whoever might come after you for that.

Baka meron same CO sainyo..

Actually, I consulted an agent after I lodged (late consultation kc feeling ko baka pwd maconsider) but the agent clearly told me, my case has no chance at all. At that moment, I was thinking to withdraw my application but then she added that, anyway, they will not reject it straightaway and u will still received S56 to clarify your details. Since nag bayad na ako ng $8.5K for the Family Visa and this is non refundable, hinintay ko muna yun S56 before ko iwithdraw (sana). But when I got my S56, they didn't asked anything about my degree and only my daughter's medical lang yun hiningi nila. The agent I consulted with says it looks positive that they didn't question my claim for my degree. If magkakaron ako ng 2nd CO contact this July, I will withdraw my application if they raise the issue on my degree.

Yes.

Waiting for 190, last status provided by migration lawyer was 'Health clearance provided - no action required' as of 25-May. Today I received an email from '[email protected] via surveymonkey' - Skilled Migration Survey 2023 - Skilled Nominated visa (Subclass 190) --- i wonder if this means anything??

The purpose of that is in the email itself, I believe. It's a survey that the State Govts conduct apparently when the FY ends.

I received the same from VIC. They want to know my feedback on the nomination process and all that. It's legit. :)

Oh and btw, for those who received grants for VIC 190, VIC is very much true to their word that they will touch base with (read: track/monitor LOL) the people they nominated and successfully been granted a visa.

I recently received another survey from them asking me to provide information on my big move (which again, have not planned when hahahaha). So yeah, dont be surprised if ever you received one. :)

Naniningil na agad, di pa nakaka move. LOL. Joke lang. Well, part naman kasi ng nomination condition nila yan. So no biggie. Heads up lang.

Question po pala sa mga waiting for Visa Grants - how are you currently preparing for your future home/place to stay in AU?

Do you already have an apartment there waiting for you?

If yes, how did you arrange it while overseas?
If not, saan po kayo mag sstay once you land?

My cousin and his family already reserved a room for me in their house. HAHAHAHA!

Haha. Lapit na yan!

I'm curious what others do though, yung wala talaga kamag anak sa State na pupuntahan - may mga apartment na ba kayo?

Is it possible to find an apartment in AU while outside AU or mag hohotel lang until mayroon nang place? Haha

plan namin to book airbnb muna while looking for a place.

Worst case scenario is ma-grant visa niyo, then DHA finds out na overclaimed points pala, baka madeport pa kayo.

Did you try to raising it to EA in the first place why they assessed it as Associate degree?

Like the others said, sobrang risky nung situation. I can only imagine, ma-grant man yung visa, you should always be on your feet thereafter because the DHA/whoever might come after you for that.

Baka meron same CO sainyo..

If magkakaron ako ng 2nd CO contact this July, I will withdraw my application if they raise the issue on my degree.

read some cases here before na nadeny ang Citizenship nila kasi natrace na may wrong details nung nag apply ng PR. So in case ma grant man ang PR mo ngayon, baka that will haunt you later on. Kung alam mo na mali ang points mo and naglodge ka parin, I think it would be best to withdraw that.

Marami last year na nainvite pero expired ang docs so they didn't proceed with the invitation. Risky ang overclaiming kasi yan ang sureball grounds for refusal

I plan to do a mix of hostel (easier to network HAHA) + AirBnb for a month. Possible to find a place while offshore but not advisable. It's best na ma-inspect mo yung property in person, sometimes iba yung stated sa listing sa actual conditions. I believe requirement din talaga 'to, part of the formal process.

If gusto mo man makahanap while overseas, merong mga relocation agents who would do the scouting + viewing for you. But based on my research they're priced a bit steep.

Thanks.

    Hello, good morning po!
Ask ko lang po how do you prepare for your BIG move in terms of financials? Like how many months buffer do you prepare before doing your BIG move (given there’s no assurance when you’ll get a job in AU)?

Any idea po how much ang monthly cost of living in NSW for a single person?

    Thank you!
