Yep, this. Sa mga nagwwait ng invites, getting one this FY will be more competitive dahil sa onti ng allocations. Sa mga nagwwait ng grants, it’s hopefully a good sign na sila ang magiging focus to clear the backlog enough—DHA is playing catch-up. Don’t know if that means mas mapapabilis talaga ang processing, but fingers crossed na ganun nga. Hopefully it will be a good effort para for FY 24-25, marami na ulit ang allocations, decided na mga natirang applications from 2020-2023, and reasonable na ulit ang processing times for the new 24-25 applications.

Or possibly, a good set up for the overhaul they are planning. Haha. Although, that would require tons of laws to be passed for the overhaul to become a reality.

Nonetheless, this is just a solid proof, that anything could happen. No one has really anticipated this even when they published almost the same planning levels as last FY.

Kaya sa naghihintay ng invites, ilaban nyo na mataas na points hanggat kaya!!! Go go go~

Yes, as per recent news din po regarding student visa, they will plan to overhaul also para pwedeng maging rason ang pag migrate.. so maybe this year maraming laws na need i pass at in time for next FY.

30,400 nakalagay s planning level. so slashed in half ung nominations. kaya pala nagccomplain western australia na wag i-slash ng 70% ung sa kanila.
baka preparing for an overhaul of the system talaga.

Swerte yung mga nainvite last year from Aug - Dec. Super baba ng points needed back then. Ngayon for sure mas competitive na because everyone who missed out on an invite last year nagready na for sure, and less invites planned for this year as well.

hello sa mga naghihintay ng 189/190 grants since late 2022 and early 2023. ask ko lang, hindi talaga tayo pwede magpakasal or magkaanak hangga't walang grant ano? parang di ko na kasi kakayanin hahaha di ko alam hanggang kelan magtitiis maging legally single. :D

I thought ang restriction is sa pagpapakasal and entering into a de facto relationship lang. Pati ba paga-anak? Di naman nakakabawas ng points ang magka-anak.

Di ko sure if may restriction nga ba for giving birth while waiting for your grant, but ang perk ay if you give birth in Australia with PR status, citizen by default na anak mo :)

di naman siya bawal, pero maapektuhan yung current visa application especially kung mauna lumabas si baby kaysa sa visa grant. kelangan siya i-add sa current application and of course additional visa fee din siya. Whereas if you give birth sa AU and you're holding a PR visa, you can give birth for free sa AU and the child will be AU citizen na.

In our case, we want a 2nd baby narin but we are restraining until we get our PR visa and finally make our BM to AU.

I’m not an expert on this one but I’ll try to help. Afaik states send out some kind of survey to see how you’ve been settling/settled in the state. I’m not sure exactly what this is, and at what point they roll that out to you (if at all) naaalala ko lang namention here sa forum somewhere at one point. Hopefully that helps, at least man lang to give you something to go on for further research.

Are you offshore? You might want to try applying for jobs while overseas din, once you get your grant. That’s the best option IMO, unless inip ka na talaga.

Also, as an aside—what’s your occupation and lodgement date? Dami nating nagwwait!

The positive thing that I see if you enter SA first and stay with your siblings is you get to be with them and you'll have emotional support while looking for work because you are with your relatives. In other words, you won't feel alone in a new country you are trying to adjust in. And of course straight away, you have a place to stay and doesn't have the pressure yet to look for your own place while looking for a job. You'll also have someone to share the expenses of living in AU.

However, the disadvantage that I see is: what if you get a job interview and the employer wants to meet you right away? (I know there are video calls now but some still would prefer face to face). It would be a lot of hassle booking a flight and a place to stay as well in NSW for an interview for a job that you have no guarantee of getting, and then go back to SA again while waiting for the result.

If I were in your shoes, I would just go straight to NSW so that I can find a place to stay and settle in (but of course with enough funds at hand to get me through until I land a job). And once I find work, I don't have to think about looking for a place and settling in because I'm already there. Whereas if I land a job and just moved to NSW, I would still think about all those aforementioned. Just my 2 cents.

Hi guys. I am also waiting for a grant pero nag mumuni muni na ako ngayon since di naman busy sa work. :D So here goes, I have siblings kasi sa SA but what I got is Visa 190 for NSW. Syempre I grabbed it na kasi baka mahirapan na mainvite ulit since di ganun kataas points ko. Ngayon, I'm curious what would be better, pumasok ako sa SA and stay there for the meantime while job hunting then fly to NSW once I get a job or directly stay in NSW for who knows how long until I find a job?

Yep, I'm offshore. Ayun nga, I know I do have to stay and work sa NSW but was just hoping to spend time with my siblings in SA while looking for a job since libre naman sa kanila. :D

CE ako pero June 1 lang ako naglodge pero March pa ako nainvite. Sinagad ko kasi yung time na binigay sa akin for lodgement. . And I think I'm regretting it now after reading what's been happening. I was looking forward to Christmas in AU pero baka next year na pala visa ko. :D

Ngayon, I'm curious what would be better, pumasok ako sa SA and stay there for the meantime while job hunting then fly to NSW once I get a job or directly stay in NSW for who knows how long until I find a job?

This will be the likely scenario nga. Thank you for sharing your thoughts on this. I really think na better nga magland ng job while offshore para alam na rin agad saan area magsettle sa NSW. I do think they have better job opportunities din compared to other state.

June 9 naman ako naglodge haha. Feeling ko before dec naman cguro tau mabiyayaan since mukhang magfofocus na sila sa pagclear ng backlogs dahil mas maliit ngayon quota.

    MY ROAD TO AUSTRALIAN PR

Nominated Occupation: Architectural Draftsperson - ANZSCO 312111 (Offshore)

    2020

Jan 20: Since I’m DIYing it, I started researching and learning the whole process.
Feb 22: VETASSESS – I started gathering all required documents.
Apr 25: VETASSESS – I finished gathering all my documents. I created my account and started filling up the Skills Assessment for General Occupation Application.
Apr 29: VETASSESS – I double-checked my documents. I started uploading the required documents. I decided not to include my first work in the Philippines because I don’t have payment evidence of it. I didn’t include my 1st work in Singapore as well because I don’t have a Certificate of Employment from that job.
Apr 30: VETASSESS – I double-checked my documents for the last time.
May 01: VETASSESS – I successfully submitted my online assessment for Architectural Draftsperson. Total amount paid is AUD$ 880 (SGD$ 842.66) Crossing my fingers that the outcome will be positive.
May 05: VETASSESS – My application status was lodged.
Jul 12: VETASSESS – After 11 weeks, the results came out and it was Positive. Number of years assessed positively was 9.63 which is equivalent to 15 points in EOI.
Jul 25: IELTS – I finally booked my IELTS Computer-delivered Test for SGD$ 365. My test date was Aug 16, 2020.
Aug 16: IELTS – It was my test day. Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing were all taken on this day.
Aug 21: IELTS – My test results came out. L: 9.0 R: 7.5 W: 7.0 S: 7.5 which is Proficient English. It is equivalent to 10 points in EOI.
Aug 22: EOI – I finally submitted my Expression of Interest (EOI) in SkillSelect for NSW Visa 190.

    My points breakdown:
    Age: 25
    English Language Ability: 10
    Education: 15
    State Nomination: 5
    Years of Experience: 15
    Total: 70 points

*Invitation rounds for NSW nomination under the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) are currently closed. I’m expecting that this may take a while because of the pandemic and the current situation in Australia. I just have to wait for the federal government’s advice on when it will open again.

    2022

Jul 5: IELTS – Since my IELTS exam result was expiring on Aug 16, 2022, I booked my 2nd IELTS Computer-delivered Test for SGD$ 378. My test date was on Jul 17, 2022. I didn’t know at that time that Australia is accepting its validity for 3 years. But I was able to use it as well for my Canada PR application.
Jul 17: IELTS – It was my test day. Speaking, Listening, Reading, and Writing were all taken on this day.
Jul 20: IELTS – My test results came out. L: 8.0 R: 9.0 W: 7.0 S: 7.5 which is Proficient English. It is equivalent to 10 points in EOI.
Jul 25: EOI – I received a notice that my EOI is expiring on August 23, 2022, so I had to resubmit it.
Aug 23: EOI – My Expression of Interest (EOI) in SkillSelect expired after 2 years.
Aug 25: EOI – I submitted my new Expression of Interest (EOI) in SkillSelect.

    My points breakdown:
    Age: 25
    English Language Ability: 10
    Education: 15
    State Nomination: 5
    Years of Experience: 15
    Total: 70 points

*Invitation rounds for NSW nominations under the Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) were still closed. It’s expected to open in November 2022. I hope I get invited before my birthday because I will lose points during an age milestone on December.

Sep 09: EOI – After a long wait, NSW’s Skilled Visa Nomination Program finally opened. However, my skill points for my nominated occupation didn’t meet the minimum points required which is 90. I only had 70 points. I updated my EOI and changed my preferred state to Victoria, which only requires a minimum of 65 points. I then created an account in the Live In Melbourne portal and submitted my Registration of Interest (ROI).

Dec XX: EOI – My points went down to 60 points due to an age milestone and I am now not qualified for at EOI in the Australian Skillselect. My only hope is to get higher points in my English exam to get back in the pool. I withdrew my EOI and ROI in Victoria.
    Dec19: – I booked my PTE English Test for USD$ 260 (SGD$ 367.11). My exam date was on Dec 30, 2022.
Dec 30: PTE – I took the PTE Academic English Test. My test results came out the same day: L: 84 R:84 S: 90 W: 75. I didn’t get the scores that I needed to achieve Superior English.
