I read that the Skilled Occupations List has this points system but I don't understand it.

Do I need to accumulate a set number of points before I can work in Australia? How much points do I need? How do I get these points?

Do I need to accumulate a set number of points before I can work in Australia? How much points do I need? How do I get these points?

depends on what Visa you are applying, and yes you have to accumulate those points

How do I get these points?

    It depends on your
    Age
Your school + work experience ( depends on Australian demands )
    You English language ability
If you have worked/studied in Au
Your spouses school + work experience
    etc etc

    example only

you have graduated in La Salle as BSCOmSci and CUrrently working as a .NET Programmer for 5 year you get = 60 points
You English language ability IELTS total band is 8 = 25 Ppoints
You are 30 years old = 15 points
YOu have studied in AU = 5 points
    etc etc ...

    Google for Everything !!!

Hi. Nagsearch lang ako sa workaboad then pinass ko resume ko. tapos tumawag sa akin agency for interview sa mga employers. March 2010 ako nagpainterview. Di bale twice yung interview initial then final. The employers as in the owners of the hotel offered me a permanent visa the Visa 119. Regional Sponsored ba tawag dun. So inaccept ko ung offer. Pinag IELTS ako then VETASSES..
Placement fee: Ang sabi salary deduction. Starting offer sa akin is $47k/annum.

Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (Subclass 119/857)
The Regional Sponsored Migration Scheme (RSMS) allows employers in regional or low population growth areas of Australia, to sponsor employees who are foreign nationals for a permanent visa to work in Australia.

    My question lang ako sana...

shoulder ko ba ang fee sa visa na to? kase i received a letter or contract from my agency galing sa skilled migration services from australia na i have to pay $10k for 100 weeks para sa visa na to. akala ko kase shoulder na to ng employers ko and placement fee nlng babayran ko.. naguluhan tuloy ako..

    thank you po!

@Jenny_sg interest should start from your husband.. may chance pa naman kayo sa subclass 175 pero you need IELTS band 7 for all tests.. kaya yan basta review nga lang mabuti... subclass 475 only needs band score of 6.5
dennis_carlo is right :) you still have a chance for the 175. retake nya lang ung ielts siguro.

you can check for the rate here

    http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/990i/employer-sponsored-permanent.htm

@cheflyra : hi chef, i have read a lot of blogs bout OZ.I have encountered bout this settlement funds na $10K pag regional sponsored visa.

Mga Kabayan sa Australia, Im currently working here in SG for 3 years now. I'm an IT with 5 years experience. Thanks!

@yheon_17 ang best chance mo is to apply a visa. kasi dito satin sa sg, nakakalusot ung tourist then sa sg maghahanap ng work. iba sa AU, sobra bihira ung ganon, gusto kasi ng mga company may visa ka to work in AU.

@aolee congrats!

yup unlike dito satin sa SG, kung kumikita tayo ng mga 120k to 150k pero month, tax natin nasa 3k-5k pesos lang per month for 10months (GIRO), kasi ung IRAS nagsisimula magdeduct ng ika 3rd month due to filling process.

a friend of mine here, salary nya is SGD 4k+/month pero tax lang nya for the whole year is 700-800plus.

    sample computation:
    SGD 4,000x12months = SGD 48,000
TAX 800 (for the whole year)
