In Australia, a skills assessment for a Graduate Visa (subclass 485) is not directly acceptable for migration purposes. Here's why:

    Graduate Visa Skills Assessment:

For a Graduate Visa, the skills assessment focuses on verifying your qualifications and experience in relation to your nominated occupation. This assessment is typically done by:

    1. VETASSESS (Vocational Education and Training Assessment Services)
    2. Engineers Australia
    3. Australian Computer Society (ACS)
    4. Other assessing authorities relevant to your occupation

    Migration Skills Assessment:

For migration purposes (e.g., Skilled Independent Visa, subclass 189), a more comprehensive skills assessment is required. This assessment evaluates your qualifications, experience, and skills against the Australian standards for your nominated occupation.

    Key differences:

    1. Purpose: Graduate Visa assessment focuses on temporary residency, while migration assessment focuses on permanent residency.
    2. Scope: Migration assessment evaluates skills and experience in more depth.
    3. Requirements: Migration assessment may require additional documentation, such as:

    a. More detailed work experience
    b. Qualification certification
    c. Professional development records

    Acceptable Assessments for Migration:

For migration purposes, skills assessments from the following authorities are generally accepted:

    1. VETASSESS
    2. Engineers Australia
    3. ACS
    4. Australian Institute of Management (AIM)
    5. Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport (CILT)
    6. Other relevant assessing authorities

    Important Note:

If you've already had a skills assessment for a Graduate Visa, you may need to:

    1. Update your assessment to meet migration requirements.
    2. Provide additional documentation.
    3. Pay additional fees.

    Recommendation:

Consult the Australian Department of Home Affairs website or contact the relevant assessing authority to confirm specific requirements for your migration skills assessment.

Hi fellas, my husband is my secondary applicant. Antagal din namin maghintay for invitation since 2022.
He's graduating na soon in Australia and processing his skills assessment via VETASSESS for Civil Engineering Draftsman.

**Is it valid to claim partner's skill using his graduate visa skills assessment? **

    Thanks in advance :)

I believe is not valid is it for a 485? If yes then he needs to provide a SKILLS ASSESSMENT for Migration Purposes in order to claim points

Appreciate your insight po about this.
My wife has 9 yrs worth of relevant experience here in PH as Civil Engineer however, she is not a board passer. Now, she got this feedback from the EA Assessor:
Option A---No record Relevant Skilled Employment and the outcome will still be Civil Engineer
Option B---Record Relevant Skilled Employment but the outcome will be Engineering Technologist.

    1. Sa tingin nyo po ano ung mas ok sa dalawang options for her EOI process?
    2. Would it matter po ba either of the 2 options if ako naman ang mgcclaim ng +5 points for partner skills?

    Thank sa mga sasagot po.

You can't apply until your visa is granted and as far as I know, you need to be onshore.

Hello everyone, I’d like to ask about updating my wife’s name for the PTE. We’re planning to take the test by the end of this year, but we recently got married, and my wife hasn’t updated her IDs to reflect my surname yet.

Should we get her IDs updated before taking the exam, or is it fine to use her maiden name?
Will it cause any issues when lodging the EOI if her PTE results are under her maiden name, but her passport will eventually reflect my surname?

Personally, I'll update my IDs first then book PTE (if time is not of the essence).

She can prove change of name through your marriage contract in skillselect, visa lodgement etc, yun nga lang ang hassle kasi. I'd rather have my name and IDs synced from the start than provide other proof of identity in the midst of invite / lodgement.

Yung period counted for points is employment during the last 10 years, so likely na ang mai-include lang nya is from 2015.

    Hi. Good day dreamers!
While waiting for my miracle invite for GSM visas, my husband is going to lodge his graduate visa soon and include me in his application.

    However..
We just found out that I won't be able to join him in his visa and apply as secondary applicant because I am currently offshore as what stated in their website. However, I'll be coming to Australia next month for a holiday vacation for 2weeks (I'm holding Tourist Visa multiple entry expiring August '25). But I'll be returning back to Philippines for work after my vacation.

    1) Can he lodge the 485 visa (including me as secondary applicant) when I get there next month?
So just to fulfill the requirements and save waiting time. Any implications on that plan?

    or

    2) Just wait for his 485 visa to be granted, and apply myself for a subsequent visa?

Thanks in advance to whoever can help us with this.

Iba iba ang criteria I think depende sa assessing body. Check the one specific to your wife's occupation.

General practice din ng madami is mag create ng separate EOIs per State and subclass

Tama kaya yung ganun?

Hello. Regarding po sa pag create ng seperate EOIs, ang practice po ba ay gumagawa po ng maraming account to apply seperate EOIs? or okay na po yung i-check po both 189 and 190 sa options sa isang EOI?

Best is really create one of each. One for 189. Then one for each state for 190. You can use a single email address for easy tracking din.

Tama kaya yung ganun?

Twice tinanong ng ate ko about dun and same din sagot.

Is it okay to input the Digital National ID details from eGov? Wala pa kasi ako physical card na narereceive until now.

    Thank you po!!

Follow-up question lang po regarding ROI. Since some Australian state require to submit ROI on top of the EOI, nago-auto update din po ba ang points ng ROI tulad ng EOI? For example po, in 2 months po, magiging 5yrs na po ang experience ko and sayang din po yung points para doon. Do I check the 3-5yrs experience or 5-8 yrs sa mga ROIs? What do you advice po?

ROI for Victoria doesnt update. But if your concern is work experience, i think no need to worry. As far as I remember, hindi sya tinatanong sa ROI.

I got my engineering bachelor's degree from a Section 1 university in the Philippines. From what I understood sa pag research ko, only way I can get my qualifications assessed is through the CDR pathway.

Ask ko lang po if tama ba pagkaintindi ko na I can only claim 15 points for Qualifications if positive 'yung assessment, and for that I need to actually nominate an occupation that aligns with my degree? What if different field 'yung work experience ko, separate skills assessment pa siya?

Hi po! Silent reader here and recently got invited for 190 Visa. Dun po kasi sa drop down it's either 1 year in the past 10 years or 3 years in the past 10 years lang ang option, pero ang duration po ng employment ko is between that (2years & 10mos). Ano po ba ang need na piliin? Yung 1yr or 3 yrs? Pano po pag in between yung year dun sa options? Thanks you po sa makakasagot.

Less than 1 year to less than 3 years , as you will over claim points if you put 3 years and up, anyways pag nakaabot naman sa 3 years mag auto update na si Skill Select.

Ang options lang po sa drop down is either 1 year in the past 10 years / 3 years in the past 10 years / 5 years in the past 10 years / 8 years in the past 10 years. Not sure po kung ano pipiliin ko kasi kung less than yung pipiliin parang magiging kulang po yung expi in total ko
