Hi just wanna share the news, I got a job offer. It is from a not for profit agricultural research cooperative in Regional NSW. Hindi malaki offer, pero I think enough na to start and gain experience.

Kumbaga at least di ako pupunta ng Australia ng kinakabahan if I will land a job in my industry. Slowly but surely we can increase naman our salary just skill up and gain local experience.

Sa mga nagdadoubt na makakahanap ng work while offshore, it is possible, isa lang naman need natin despite sa hundreds ng in-applyan natin na work. And don’t be afraid to start over, yung pagtiwala nila sa skills and experience natin kahit di sya local is big enough of a risk sa kanila. Plus lahat naman nagsasabi na madali maghanap ng ibang work once onshore and you have local experience.

Mabibigay ko lang na tip sa paghahanap ng work is:

    1) Quality over Quantity. Piliin yung aapplyan and customize your CV and Cover Letter para makalusot sa filter ng seek or linkedin.

    2) If possible, send your application directly to the hiring manager or CEO of the company. I sent my application directly to the email address of the CEO, and they called me and praised my initiative and drive to present myself for the position.

    3) Be confident and be honest. Don’t overpromise, recognize your weakness and strength. If they are interested in your skills and experience, they will accommodate you. In my case, I was honest during the interview process that I’m still in the Philippines, that I already have a booked flight and that I put my friends’ address sa CV ko.

    4) Get an Australian SIM if possible. Sobrang laking tulong nito. I will give a shoutout dun sa nag offer but I do not want her to get flooded with requests to purchase a sim. So I will give a silent shoutout sa kanya. Why AU SIM is important? Because employers will schedule an “informal” interview first before scheduling a zoom or video interview. I got two such calls with my AU SIM, and they even ask you to return call so mahalaga you can also call or text with the sim (so roaming enabled)

    5) Improve your LinkedIN profile. Even though di sya vinisit ng nag offer sa akin ng job, there are a lot of recruiters who visited and viewed my LinkedIn profile to check if I am a suitable candidate.

    6) Also check out this video: https://youtu.be/0vTyJE9vQGI?si=RbogTgaWWDPiaHOc

    7) Tatagan mo loob mo. Be prepared to get rejection emails everyday. Kahit na sobrang pinagpaguran mo yung paggawa ng resume and CV mo. At the end of the day you are disadvantaged kasi offshore ka.

    8) Use AI. To analyze job listing, and create cover letter. Not saying na buong letter is chat gpt (though may mga sinend ako na ganito - sadly walang bumalik), but you can use it to better the wording of your cover letter.

Lastly, good luck! You’ll need a lot of it.

We’re one step closer sa dream natin. Laban lang.

Wow, this is really helpful. Thank you for this. I'm in the same boat myself, job hunting since Feb (I got my grant last November 2024). Sent a lot of CVs and Cover Letters, each one customised based on the job posting.

It’s really great to hear na nakatulong kahit papaano yung post ko. Yes, you are not alone. Lahat tayo nasa same boat and dilemma pero slowly but surely makakalampas tayo dito.

Have you looked at casual jobs po? You can do temp jobs.

Also, it would really help if your experience is directly related sa in-applyan niyo po na job. Also, disregard po muna yung current level ng position. As much as possible get an entry level position since managerial and supervisory is not usually given sa walang experience sa AU.

Exactly my thoughts po during the job hunt. Everything happens for a reason.

Also, as many others have said, isa lang pong employer ang need natin. And the rest will fall into place.

Good luck on the job hunt po :)

Hi! I just wanted to check— for those who already have their Victoria Driver’s License, was an LTO Certification or Authentication from the Philippines required?

I’m asking so we can prepare in case it’s needed.

    Thank you so much! ☺️

Hello po. Meron po ba may alam na service provider to find accommodation sa Aus while offshore pa? I read it before somewhere here dito sa forum, but I can't find it. We are planning to do our BM on Aug.

Here’s the link: https://rentalsearchaustralia.com.au/relocation-package

They guarantee approval for rent before arrival pero I cannot comment on this yet since sa May 19 pa ung call namin with the relocation manager and sa June pa po kami magBM. Balitaan ko po kayo how it goes :)

    hi,

They mentioned that their relocation manager only works with 1 or 2 clients at a time. So after payment, mageemail po sila na secured na ung slot with them and kung kelan ung schedule ng call with the relocation manager. They also mentioned po na they have 4-5 weeks lead time since dun po ung may greatest pool of properties na aligned sa arrival.

Hi! I just wanted to check— for those who already have their Victoria Driver’s License, was an LTO Certification or Authentication from the Philippines required?

I’m asking so we can prepare in case it’s needed.

    Thank you so much! ☺️

Not my personal experience but a friend of mine here told me he was just asked for his license, current and his old one, to prove years of driving experience.

Kasi un passport details un ginagamit nila to check your visa po.

If yes po, meron po ako follow-up questions. Nag reresearch kasi ako about Child Care system ni Australia, and un sinasabi nila subsidy. One of the requirements kasi doon is dapat ma-meet un immunization requirements. Salamat!

Hi! Then once ma-check, sasabihin nila 'yung mga kulang, if ever, then i-schedule for immunisation para updated na ang records based on Australian immunisation standards. Then submit to childcare provider :)

Bali papa-kita mo sakanila un baby book or child handbook, tama po ba? So after nila ma-update and future vaccines ni baby, makikita namin sa medicare?

Un po pala, any GP naman na malapit sa suburb or community centres pwde sila mg update ng AIR? 🙏

Yes, sa NSW, kailangan mag submit nung seller ng Notice of Disposal online. Once completed, pwede mo na din itransfer yung registration under your name. Sa case namin it only took 15mins to process sa ServiceNSW.

Hi po sa lahat :) g'day! tanong ko lang if I will buy a 2nd hand car from marketplace for example. Not from a dealer. kelangan din po ba mag process ng transfer of registration? or paano po yung process? Sana may makasagot. Gusto ko lang po magkaroon ng insight about it. Thank you po sa sasagot :#

Yes, sa NSW, kailangan mag submit nung seller ng Notice of Disposal online. Once completed, pwede mo na din itransfer yung registration under your name. Sa case namin it only took 15mins to process sa ServiceNSW.

i see.. thank you! so ang pagtransfer ng registration is online lang po tama ba? Sa PH kasi last time is nag process pako ng affidavit then nag punta pa kami sa LTO, and so on. :#

If yes po, meron po ako follow-up questions. Nag reresearch kasi ako about Child Care system ni Australia, and un sinasabi nila subsidy. One of the requirements kasi doon is dapat ma-meet un immunization requirements. Salamat!

Hi! Then once ma-check, sasabihin nila 'yung mga kulang, if ever, then i-schedule for immunisation para updated na ang records based on Australian immunisation standards. Then submit to childcare provider :)

Bali papa-kita mo sakanila un baby book or child handbook, tama po ba? So after nila ma-update and future vaccines ni baby, makikita namin sa medicare?

Un po pala, any GP naman na malapit sa suburb or community centres pwde sila mg update ng AIR? 🙏

Meron kaming certificate with a list ng mga current vaccines na meron si baby, 'yun ang pinasa namin sa GP. Though the child handbook should be okay. Yup i-input nila sa system ng Australia lahat ng current vaccines ni baby then mag-generate ng certificate/list na you can present sa childcare. But if may kulang na vaccines, they will schedule it para ma-complete asap.

Yup for future vaccines, maa-access niyo siya sa medicare, and makikita niyo rin mga next vaccines na kailangan including corresponding dates.

Yup pwede gawin online, as in habang nagtatransact na kayo ng seller, magagawa within 5 mins. Though default way is to go Service centres.

Then irereport mo sya sa tax return as income from business.
