hi guys, ask ko lng kung ok na AUD7,000 na baon...I'll be arriving in Adelaide on April 10 and not yet sure how much magiging expenses ko...I will initially find and rent a room while looking for job...My son and wife will be coming over mga august or sept depende pag medyo settled nako...thanks

Based sa nababasa ko mukhang kasya naman po. 3-4 months siguro po yan.

@wenzhel : just make sure lang po na meron kayong ways to get more money from pinas just in case kapusin na kayo in 3 to 4 months. mabuti nang handa.

yup, kasya na 1k per month. tipid tipid na lang. pag may interview ka at commute ka lang by train, ipa-sched mo na lang na pwede ka sumakay ng train after 9am para mas mura train ticket. kung bus naman, bili ka ng mga travel10 na tickets kung alam mong gagamitin mo lagi. mahal kasi ng bus dito e. hehe

Yung rent yung makain sa budget...habang wala pa kayo sa Australia tingin tingin na kayo sa gumtree para may idea kayo kung magkano itatabi niyo para sa renta...everything else, puwede na pagtipiran hehe

@wenzhel imagine usually room rent is 150-180 per week eto is flatting may kasama ka sa bahay so if 1 k per month lng budget mu with rent ... Half na yan. Food pa let's say ikaw lng at least 50- 80 per week na grocery. Bili ka pa ng load sa phone kasi job hunting.. Yung 30 aud na 1 month is not enough if may landline calls. Bus tickets pa also no calls to pinas muna kasi ubos load sa phone agad.

10 trip is around 30-40 aud for bus. How many bus transfers fir job interviews d mu ma compute agad yan so ung 10 trip pwding 3 days Lng. Ibang ticket for trains.

1k per month is good enough if you are not paying rent.

But with rent kahit flat sharing that is very very tight...unless you do not plan on contributing on buying food and someone will feed you for free. Someone will offer you free rides, free internet.. Etc 1 k for single / freeloader ok na talaga;)

For couple naman, 1-1.5k per person then set aside 500 per child per month just for good measure or back up. But 1k -1.5k per adult per month is ok on a very tight budget.

It cant be less than 1k kasi u would want a bit of freedom din. hindi naman pwding ung tinitirahan would shoulder everything.

Also bring extra baon, remember if you are appylyung for a rental that is 2 weeks bond and 1 week advance rent. So if 400 per week yung place.. 800 na ung bond plus 400 na advance rent.

Hay. Til now I still don't have a place to stay I mean room to rent in Adelaide...magbook muna ako s backpackers oz cguro at most e 1 wk while looking for a room to rent..

Hi nung nag stay kami ng wife ko sa sydney 10k aud lang ang pera namin. May narentan kaming murang unit. $190 a week kasama na ung water dun. Budget namin sa food is $40 a week or less pa nagluluto na lang kami sa bahay para tipid. Sa una lang medyo malaki kasi bibili ka ng mga condiments like toyo,patis etc... Dalawa lang naman kaming kumakain $100 one month na budget na namin yun. Electricity is $120 for three months. $96 sa pamasahe naming dalawa my multi 1&2 per week.

Maganda shopping dito!!!!! Kaya lng butas bulsa after;) hahaha!! I usually buy online sa american sites like gap kasi like this knitted shirt i saw sa westfield gap dito sa cbd in sydney it retailed for 89 aud but online it was only 50 aud sa gap u.s.website.

Same for hunter boots.. It was about 200 aud here but online it was 150 aud including fast shipping.

So window shopping lang dito but buy it elsewhere;)

So eto ang naresearch ko, if I read the requirements of these two benefits, walang nakalagay na residency requirements... but of course my mga other criteria, and these are income-tested.. so kung hindi nagwork ang isa, at kalilipat pa lang sa AU, malamang pasado nga sa income test..

These 2 types ng benefits na pwede ang new migrants na walang residency requirements..

1) RENT ASSISTANCE -
- $141.82 (max payment per fortnight) for Couple, one or two children (if your fortnightly rent is more than $398.39)
