sa experience ko from DBS (SG bank) to NAB here in oz...ang rate na ginamit ay yung selling rate ng DBS bank. tanong mo din sa BDO kung sino ang partner bank nila here. magandang mag-open ka na lang ng bank account sa bank na partner nila para maiwasan ang dagdag na charges.

All banks from Pinas can transfer money to AU banks...

Similarly, all banks in Australia can transfer to PH banks...

Kami Westpac at uBank. Madaming ATM. They also own St George kaya pwde rin mag withdraw w/o incurring any charges.

uBank for saving naman. Mataas interest around 4.9%.

If u have extra funds mag time deposit abroad..offshore accounts ala marcos! Hahahaha!!

Earn interest in dollars... Mas ok din banking stability here unlike sa pinas the small banks who offer higher rates may big chances of closing down like eastwest bank if i remember correctly.

This is not possible ata @meehmooh... Walang bangko kasi tatanggap ng AUD mo eh and have it transferred to Australia. :)

When you do wire transfer from PH/SG, kailangan ito sourced from the local currency where you maintain the account. Dito kasi sila kikita sa FX conversion eh (mga 2% give or take)

I really doubt if super laki ang difference between the rate sa FX counter and sa FX conversion when doing wire transfer.

    2. westpac kung gusto maraming ATM machines but meron tong monthly fee.

    3. Ubank for savings lang dahil may mataas na interest (4.9%)... pero does this have monthly/annual fee? dapat po ba may maintaining balance to?

as for opening a bank account (i.e. with NAB) while still in the Philippines, this can be done online (?) and money transferred from Philippine bank (i.e. BPI / BDO) will carry the Philippine exchange rate plus charges ... ?

di po ba 10kAUD lang ang pwedeng cash on hand na dalhin?...the rest dapat naka-transfer na sa bank account sa AUD...? or pwedeng magdala MORE than 10k AUD and DECLARE it nalang??

Yes pdeng wire transfer from ph to au. Hihingiin mo lng ung IBAN # ata un from the bank here tapos bigay mo lng sa bpi sa pinas. Need to call the bank in ph regarding the details, exchange rate and charges.

Yeah 10kaud lng max.

    http://www.bankwest.com.au/personal/everyday-accounts/everyday-transaction-accounts/zero-transaction-account

Kung meron kang work simply have it deposited to your bankwest account problem solved ...

    Google for Everything !!!

Maganda din ang westpac.. I have 2 accounts in Westpac, one is cheque account kung saan doon pumpasok ung sweldo q and other one is reward savings account.. Nung last month aq nag open nito at nlagyan q kaagad ng 2k AUD then after a month $6 ung interest nya..

Make sure lg na within a month malalagyan m ng 2k AUD ung account m..

which is the best para sa mga nakaexperience na.

    1. handcarry USD to OZ then convert to AUD
    2. convert USD to AUD in Phils. then handcarry to oz
    3. online bank transfer of USD (USD acct. in Phils.) to AUD in oz bank

let's just say the money is more than 10k USD. tia
