Would you recommend AirAsia to fly to OZ? Php10K lang

viannej08viannej08 Cebu CityPosts: 69Member
hello everyone,
i tried to book us flight from Clark to Mel of June 2013, sinubukan ko lang to check magkano babayarin namin at nagulat ako sa Airasia, Php37K lang namin tatlo - 2 adults + 1 child, yun nga lang from Clark. But malaki talaga ang savings namin pag Airasia. Try ko other airlines like Silkair, CX, PAL & Singapore Airlines more than Php100K of the same date.

Ang tanong ko, ok ba ang Airasia? Safe kaya ang mga eroplano nla? :)

@viannej08 - my vacation to Melbourne last June was via Air Asia. It is just like Cebu Pacific kasi lowcost, walang food (if you want, pwede ka bumili though), walang water, walang entertainment system. It is a bit uncomfortable if you compare versus legacy carrier like CX, PAL and SQ but if you say you can save more than 20K per pax then I would say it is very much worth it na cguro. Worth na ang pagiging uncomfy over a long-distance flight. And 60K total mo na savings, pwede pandagdag baon na yun (approx AU1250 na rin yun).

In terms of ok ba ang Air Asia and safe? Yes, it is... I use it often in weekend travels from Singapore.

another thing to consider though is the luggage allowance..
because air asia is a budget airline, baka mas mahal ang check-in luggage fee..
especially if your are travelling to AU to finally settle in.. i can imagine you have heavy luggage..

If you buy the luggage allowance together with the ticket mejo reasonable naman - it will not eat up her 20K savings per pax... :D

yup, tama si @psychoboy. yung phones kelangan naka airplane mode (airplane mode din ba tawag sa ibang phones?). then lahat ng electronics pwede lang gamitin pag nasa taas na. bawal gamitin pag take off at landing. so same rules lang din ang budget airlines and mga legacy airlines. :)

@hotshot, depende rin sa airline e...Nakasakay ako isang beses sa Cebu Pacific, pinagbawalan buksan yung phone kahit naka flight mode...(or dahil ba kopong kopong yung eroplano hehe)

Although, in fairness sa Air Asia, I grant you that mura yung singil nila sa inflight entertainment hehe...$100+ singil ng Scoot sa ganyan e hehe

Malaki sana ang savings kung mag-AirAsia ang problema po wala ng available flights from Clark to KL to Aus starting June 15 to December 31, 2013 when I browsed their website. And when I called their Customer Service line, I was told by a female assistant that all flights from June 15 onwards are all fully-booked. But I am doubting what she said. I am afraid that there are other reasons why all those flights suddenly became unavailable.

I suggest get it unless money is not an issue. You will need every cents in settling as a new migrant in Australia. A few hours of sacrifice equals few weeks of rental fee payments

@abc27 I looked at the twitter account ng AirAsiaPH. the past few days, dami nagco-complain dahil puro na-cancel ang flights from Clark. at di alam kung kailan sila ma-reschedule. Mukhang may malaking pagbabago sa mga Clark flights to Kuala Lumpur. Will AirAsia discontinue flights to KL from Clark?
