Hello PinoyAU peeps here I am again starting on a new topic that I hope will interest you.

Have you experienced receiving racist remarks maybe in public or from your workplace?
Is racism really rampant in AUS? How true is this?

If you google "F*ck off we're full" you will know what i'm talking about.
Mejo cautious lang na baka mangyari sakin to pagdating namin jan. Well, it can happen to anybody here.

Kwento naman kayo. Thanks. :-)

My aunts would say that racism is subtly felt towards the bogans and the aborigines.

@PogingNoypi - actually mga Pinoy, I can say we are a bit racist actually... It is just that we don't really mean anything bad about it. :)

Pero on to the topic - racism is anywhere; in fact I have felt it as well here in Singapore. It is just a matter of how bad it can go. Very bad form of racism would involve some violence... I hope it won't happen to anyone here in the forum when they reach Australia.

Ayun natanggal sa work. hahahaha!!

This is discussed during orientation and sometimes may special session pa kasi the employers also want to cover their backside.

Actually, dapat maalam tayong lahat sa EEO para maingat tayo what to say and do sa workplace.

I totally agree with @psychoboy on this.

"I don't want speak to a filipino, I want to talk to your manager." racist ang dating diba? hehe. so ayun tinransfer nung support sa manager, which is yung pinsan ko.
pinsan: "Hi good morning! what seems to be the problem?"
customer: "I can't understand their f*** accent.. I just hate it. Don't you agree?"
pinsan: "Well, what do you think of me?"
customer: "I'm sorry? what do you mean?"
pinsan: "I was born in the Philippines, and I just migrated here since I was 15... so that makes me a filipino."
customer: "toot toot..." *binaba na yung phone.

hehehe. yun ang kwento ng pinsan ko. :)

Like what happened to the chinese people ung sa quirino standout and ung recently lng na nangyari na napatay ng holdaper ung amerikano sa 711 malapit sa harrison. Tsk tsk.. Nakakahiya talaga.

Sinisigawan yung driver. And sabi niya, "Didn't you see me? Do you want me to call the Indian call center?"

Parang ewan lang yung puti. Yung tram driver, malamang PR/citizen na dito pero feeling nung puting babae, binabayaran niya yung tao. Haler?!

Singaporean yong boss ko ngayon (I am still currently in Singapore). Sabi niya, meron daw talaga discrimation and racism sa AU, but we should cope and accept it nalang daw kasi nasa country ka nila.

To share another story, eto ung kwento nya. More or less the context is like the below.

Two years ago, she and her husband were working in Sydney. One Australian asked them in English: "How come you guys can speak very good English? I never thought that Asians can speak English well."

My boss answered: "In Singapore, English is one of our national languages and it is taught since primary years in school. We Asians can speak really good English. But I admit that there are some who cannot."

Australian: "Yeah. I never knew that really. And I thought that you are Chinese."

My Boss: "I am of Chinese descent. But I am Singaporean."

Australian: "I see. You just have to improve your accent because it is hard to understand Asians when they speak."

    End of story.

    Moral Lesson:

If hindi na bearable and too much na, report nalang and wag na makipag-argue o mkipag-away kasi baka saan pa aabot. Wala tayo sa Pinas and pag-butihin nalang ang trabaho natin.

    2. We should improve our English communication skills (especially speaking) and learn how to speak like Australians (accent nila).

In my opinion lang po ha, we should speak the way Filipinos speak English. Clear, enunciated, no accent. Heavily accented yung typical Aussie English.

There is a reason talaga bakit customer service ng Telstra, Optus, Amaysim, and almost everything else, Pinoy lagi.

~ Where do you think he went!??!! A walk in the woods!???!!?!?

Parang nakakaexperience ako nito sa work. Lahat sila local.Overly critical pa sya sa gawa ko. Laging parang may oral exam ako.
