whatever your sim is PH or AUS I would definitely discourage roaming as it is really expensive not unless you got money to burn ... alternatively buy a local sim instead ..

Let me share an experience we had for the whole duration (4yrs) we stayed in Singapore...

We maintained a prepaid overseas sim the whole time and we use it to RECEIVE txt messages from our loved ones. It is very practical as local txt lang ang binabayaran nila when they send us an SMS. There is no roaming coverage charge for us on this as hindi naman namin ginagamit pwera sa pag-receive ng SMS.

However, if you use that to txt, call and even receive call - ayan super mahal ito...

Same concept applies here in Australia.

I want to ask if there is a corresponding charge if I use Global Call outside the country when I travel?

Global Call surpasses other mobile VoIP application in terms of price and I don’t think they have roaming charge, cause it’s an mVoIP app it can function anywhere as long as you have internet. . It’s also a lot more cheaper because they only charge flat rate per minute call to anywhere. For calls to Philippines it’s only $0.09 per minute to landline and $0.12 per minute for mobile. I guess you can find more information here http://www.globalcallapp.com/wb/cmmn/UGLprice.aglobal

okay got it. Sadly it's too late for me to take advantage of this offer from Global Call, but I'm happy with the service so that's just fine. I have another question though, how do I convert my points into credits?

I'm sorry that you didn't made July 11th free bonus credit event.... I got my $10 free bonus last July 17th, don't worry I'm sure there'll be another event with Global Call in the coming months. I found this article from nanobyte about how to convert points into credits, send a gift, create contact list and speed dialing http://thenanobyte.com/2013/07/global-call-tips-and-tricks/
