Sobrang aga daw mag sara ng mga shops compared to Melb and Sydney. Galing kami Melbourne, but I have a job prospect sa Lonsdale. I have been to Adelaide but only for the final interview and didn't get to see much.

hope this helps! goodluck sa interview! wow lonsdale, never been there.. pero i think malayo sha? regional area na?

i dont think its THAT bad; dito ko lang nga iyan narinig.
    =))
    hindi sila taga-north.
    ...malay, baka taga torrensville?
wala naman ako inisip abt it because i think kahit san naman dito sa SA meron nun :)

i guess what i'm trying to say is.. to avoid generalizing. i'm aware na may mga areas sa north na may "reputation" and oo as per ur post above - yan ang mga suburbs na popular sa news... however just to clarify especially for those who havent arrived yet here in adelaide din na malaki ang northern area and the suburbs that @doubleduzi mentioned (e.g. pooraka, elizabeth) ay located far north. if im not mistaken, elizabeth is considered regional north na. yun lang naman po, peace!

Going back to @Santi's question - usually naman sa suburbs eh meron na groceries, schools, etc.. if ang concern mo tlg eh ung sa school ng anak mo.. what would probably help u is to check un atar ranking ng school. usually meron sila nipupublish na top schools.. may category jan na public/private/catholic. andun na rin un area/suburb kung san located school. u can research more about the suburb by asking here or pwede rin check mo if nababalita un sa news. i hope this helps u!

Hi! We lodged our visa last Thursday. Glad na naka habol before another increase for visa cost will take effect. God willing if our visa will be granted, we plan to go to Adelaide. Love the place by merely reading about it via Internet. But my concern is the employment. My husband is an Industrial engineer and I finished psychology but been working in a telco retail shop. Since we plan to go there without any employer yet, how long is the average waiting time to get a job? Others said that most jobs available for migrants are technical jobs and after gaining enough experiece you are able to work based on your profession. How true is this?

Ung place of work ko po somewhere sa Thebarton area. Wala po akong car so hopefully accessible ung public transpo. Sana ung mga 30 mins lang ang layo sa place of work ko. I'd appreciate any help or referrals finding a place to stay temporarily. Thank you po and God Bless.

    Hello everyone! newbie here :)

Meron po kming pending Visa application (waiting for SG PCC results next week!) and if all goes well sa Adelaide ang tungo nmen. My husband is the main applicant and we will be bringing our 1yo son along.

Meron bang waiting time before ma-accomodate ung son nmen sa Childcare sa Adelaide? Kng meron nman, how long ung waiting time? And how much ung usual fee? Wla kse kmeng relatives sa Adelaide and we are figuring out kng pano ung magiging arrangement para sa little one.

So in case he needs to go for an interview, we need someone to look after the little one.

    Thank you!

@lctan1 hello! mas maganda siguro if doon ka na malapit sa lonsdale kumuha ng bahay para hindi ka na mahirapan pagpunta ng work. to answer your question - kalat kalat ang mga asians, pero ang napapansin ko marami po nakatira sa northern suburbs/CBD area. i won't recommend getting a house in the northern/CBD area though dhil out of the way yan sa work mo :D

    thanks!

ok ba sa Adelaide? im yearning towards applying a state sponsorship here. Parang mas gugustihn ko sya kesa the busy NSW. Anyway, we are family or 3. Di ba problema dito ang school for kids? My baby will be 2 yrs old come January. :)

Hi there! Yup okay here in adelaide if you prefer quiet life. And also you can aim for PR State sponsored mas better, especially with a baby, so you can take advantage of the "no wait" centrelink benefits for the children. Good luck!

I use google maps on iphone and Adelaide Metro apps.

Depending on your situation (for example with kids or working on after office hours) then car is a must. But if your work is in the city or within the metropolitan area, then you will be fine. ;)

hi Ren, i lack 5 points for SS190. Is it that bad to go for RSMS? Is 1-2 years dreadful for provisional visa?
