Fuel Efficiency - post your car's ave kilometer for a litre of fuel...

TasBurrfootTasBurrfoot OsakaPosts: 4,336Member
edited September 2013 in General
How fuel efficient is the car that you are driving? It seems like the advertised fuel efficiency is a bit far from the actual reading from my car. Mine is:

Car Model: 2000 Honda Civic CXI
Transmission: Automatic
Mileage: 148,000 ++
Averaging 10.5 kilometers per litre...

In paper though, this should have been averaging 11.25 to 15 kilometers per litre!!

@JCsantos @barloval; these are automatic I reckon? Bihira naman kasi manual dito...

Am quiet surprised sa kia cerato is running at most 10km per litre @jcsantos; thanks for the insights on this, certainly what they claim in paper is definitely not true...

Yup automatic pare., iba talaga what they claimed on paper keysa actual kac iba rin yung driving conditions. Pero di naman cguro issue yung fuel expenses dito compare sa pinas., dun kasi almost half ng sahod ko sa fuel lang compare dito 2 hours of work lang may pang 1 wk fuel na.

If you put it this way, tamang tama ka... Fuel is very cheap relative to what you are earning! :)

Yeah, don't mention Pinas... Pamatay duon for car owners!!

@nfronda: The engine is very big... 3.0 kasi!! :) Ang akin 1.6 lang...

Deyns na mas mura ang diesel, in fact sometimes mas mahal pa ang cost per litre ng diesel dito as compared to unleaded.

Thanks TasBufoot, Yeah medyo mahal nga, Mahal pa ngayun ang hybrid but later on bababa din ang price kasi nagsisimula na rin gumawa halos lahat ng brand. I would not recommend hybrid car sa mahilig mag over speeding at mag over take na driver. Kasi mabagal mag accelerate at kapag up hill hirap ang makina. Thats my experience sa small car but i'm not sure sa malalaki na car dahil malaki ang engine. Ang car engine ko kasi is 1.5 maganda ang technology ng hybrid car walang ingay when your start the engine. Maganda gamitin na petrol at premium unleaded 95 or 98. Good luck and God bless.

@JCsantos @barloval; these are automatic I reckon? Bihira naman kasi manual dito...

Am quiet surprised sa kia cerato is running at most 10km per litre @jcsantos; thanks for the insights on this, certainly what they claim in paper is definitely not true...
Mga colleagues ko at kakilala puro manual. Puro automatic yata ngayon kasi mas madali pumasa sa driving exam pag automatic :D Less rules to think about. Pabago bago rin rules nila regarding kung pumasa ka sa automatic dapat automatic lang pwede mo drive to basta pasado ka kahit anong type of car pwede mo drive.

@TasBurrfoot..kaya nga ehh..malaki kasi, kaya cguro matakaw.. diesel pa nga sakn, sabi nla matipid dw ang diesel pro ganun pa rin ehh..
@nfronda: The engine is very big... 3.0 kasi!! :) Ang akin 1.6 lang...

Deyns na mas mura ang diesel, in fact sometimes mas mahal pa ang cost per litre ng diesel dito as compared to unleaded.
Regarding diesel, 80aud ako every 10 days vs sa equivalent gas engine na 80aud per week. Mas mahal rin mga diesel engine cars vs gasoline engine cars.
