totoo nga siguro ang tip na unahin ang essay 2 i dont why i did the letter task first i spent about 25-30 mins don

Un sinunod ko. Inuna ko task 2 sa writing. Tapos last 10 minutes ayun naihabol ko task 1.

Thanks @filipinacpa... Nung first few weeks pinapagalitan pa ko ng husband ko kasi hirap maging consistent pag self-study, kelangan disiplinado tlg at focused ka sa gnagawa mo. June me nag start magreview then Aug 24 ung exam ko. Tama ka, pag writing and speaking, very useful ang magbayad ng coach or review center. In my case, sariling sikap tlaga. Ako din nagchecheck ng writing piece ko. Pero maganda dun sa website na binigay ko, may model answers nmn for every task. Good luck.

If the graph covers past and future years. What tense will you use for overall/conclusion? I'm confused.

I went to BC Singapore kahapon, nakakuwentuhan ko yung isang staff, sabi niya kelangan ko daw ipa-remark yung writing kasi malaki ang chance na tumaas so that's what I did tapos nagregister ulit ako for another test that's on 12-Oct whew! 500 bucks meyn! #-o

Hello! The cambridge reviewer is already for the academic ielts din? Or may separate reviewer po para sa academic? Tanong ko din po kng ang mga reviewers uploaded dito sa forum are also for academic ielts or general po? Thank u!:)

combined modules na po yung cambridge reviewers.first section ng book consists of four practice tests having common listening, academic reading/writing, and common speaking exam. Second section consists of 2 practice tests for General reading and writing exam. Last section is where you will find tapescripts, answer key and sample answering sheet.

most resources uploaded dito is combination ng both..

Where are you reviewing @filipinacpa?

I enrolled in Niner since January but haven't really utilised it much. Self-study lang din po ako ngayon. Pero plan ko umattend ng coaching session with Dr. Heasley, mock exams and the 1-on-1 coaching for speaking and writing.

@filipinacpa hi! kailan ka huling pumunta sa niner? wala na daw si Dr. Heasley, bumalik na sa lugar nila sabi ni Sir Ervin. Nag attend kasi ako ng final coaching nong Aug 22 don sya sinabi. Pero meron yata syang online coaching..clarify mo pag pumunta ka don.

Nakapag pa coach ka na? Okay ba mga coaches sa q. ave?

@filipinacpa twice or thrice lang po me practice during weekdays, isang section lang practice q, so normally 1hr lang. Pag saturday and sunday un po ung mahaba haba kasi re-enact q tlga ung actual ielts so: listening-1hr, reading-1hr, writing-1hr so 3 hours plus checking of answers so haf day... Kadalasan after lunch me start. Effective tlg pag practice ka just like the real exam...

Yes, 10 weeks inabot for me. Tagal nga pero worth it naman. Buti nlang din at hindi muna ako nag-book ng 3rd exam. Hinintay ko muna talaga result ng re-mark.

@TinerBebi di ko pa po nagawa yung straight magpractice for all set ng exam. Pag dating sa writing, natitigil na po ako. Hehe. Tapos pag free time, nakikinig nalang ako youtube or podcast.

@filipinacpa based sa research ko bgo me mag-exam un po ang pinaka-effective way to prepare for the ielts...ung mag-take ng mag-take ng practice tests and while taking it, follow the time limit as if nasa totoong exam scenario ka. Dun mo din kasi malalaman saan ka section mejo kelangan mag-focus. Like for me, writing tlga ako nahihirapan during practice tests so before my actual exam, i used the last 3 consecutive days just taking practice test on writing section. Practice makes perfect ika nga... Good luck and and when you know you've prepared enough, just believe in yourself - un ang pinaka importante

Here are a few good tips for speaking which I got from my friends...

1. Forget that you know tagalog and any other languange - just use english...
- Don't listen to tagalog songs - only english
- Watch english show only - specially news, history shows/documentaries.
- Speak to anyone in english even though they don't...

2. Prepare for possible cue card topics wisely...
- Example: Think of your favorite song, research not only the song but the singer as well. you can use the singer if the question is "Talk about your favorite singer/famous person/artist"
- In my case, I prepare the song "We Are the World" by USA for Africa. (Just enumerating the singers who sang this song will take you more than 1 minute...)
- I planed to use this not only to answer "song" but also for "Charitable Institution", you can also put a twist to this if the question is "favorite part in history" -
- Then if asked who is your favorite historical figure, you can take it from this as well. Example - Michael Jackson, etc....
- Bottomline, you should be creative in your preparation... (look for recent ielts exam question in ielts-blog).

BTW, if you are not a fan of history, try to google the song "We didn't start the fire" and its meaning... its a fun way of studying recent history.... :-D

If you are lazy in practicing, prepare by having "opinions" on any possible topic. You can get the topics from Ielts-blog -recent ielts exams...

Try not to read other people's essay because this will cause you to panic. The most important thing is to:

1. Have an opinion on a multitude of topics.
2. Have a fixed essay structure for each essay type.
3. Know how to make SHORT introductions.
4. Practice making the correct structure of a single paragraph (do this before practicing making whole essays).
5. Know how to make SHORT summaries.

I learned all this from simon-ielts website....

My study habit is just like this:
1. I listen to BBC English Podcast when travelling to work and when I'm going home;
2. During my dinner, I watched ETC Channel since their tv shows are all in the english language;
3. After I took my bath, etc, etc, I would listen and watch a youtube show (IELTS tips);
4. Then I will talk to my bf for an hour or so before I get to sleep; then if I still have enough time and not yet feeling so sleepy, I would try to answer either one reading or one listening test.

*by the way, when I'm at work that's where I try to do writing test.

That's all. Lol I don't know if this will already suffice. Well anyway I'm still hoping to get a better score! *crossfingers*

@filipinacpa since meron ka pa naman 40 days (more or less) i strongly recommend na mag-answer ka ng one module under exam condition everyday. Sample:

Mon - listening (about 20-30 minutes lang to. kunwari actual exam. orasan mo sarili mo, makinig ka from speakers not from headphones. magprint out ka ng actual answer sheet meron niyan online and maupo ka as if nasa examination room. wag sa bed or wag nka slouch para masanay)
Tue - reading (1hr orasan dn ang sarili)
Wed - writing ( 1hr orasan ang sarili. ipa check ang ginawa sa friends or sa online teacher mo)
Thu - speaking (15 minutes lang to. hanap ka ng questions online, ask your bf or any friend or fam member to help you. irecord ang sarili)
Fri - kinig kinig lang like ng usual mo ginagawa
Sat - practicin mo 4 na modules. halimbawa ung Cambridge sagutin mo yung buong module na yon under exam condition. This will take about 3hrs lang of your time after nun chill ka na ulit.

para siyang nkakastress or hassle ung ganitong review strat pero mas nkakastress (1) mkakuha ng halos lahat 7 at may isang sumabit kasi hindi balanse ang pag-aaral mo (2) magretake ng exam (ulit nanaman) (3) magbayad nanaman ng halos 10k. keep that in mind sa tuwing tinatamad ka and i'm sure makukuha mo ang desired band score mo
