@TasBurrfoot I read before na kumuha ka ng certification from LTO. DId vicroads require you to submit it when you applied for a Victorian driver license?
Not me... Ehehehe!! :) Hindi ako kumuha and Vicroad did not look for it; may way naman sila ma verify as to when your drivers license was issued eh.

As far as i know, for PR visa holders, you only have 3 months to use your overseas license and convert to AU license.. Pagkatapos ng 3 mos di na pwde gamitin yan at back to L license kayo..

Please validate with your respective states.
Let us know if this is correct for all states.. Bow..

    Hi,

For the 3 month rule, that is right after your IED? Pag nag IED ka na then umalis ka agad for some reason, then your 3 months will not reset?

    Thanks,

Is this true also in other states? Kasi kung ganito mas ok sulitin mo iyun allowed driving mo kasi once bumagsak ka illegal ka na to drive in australia.

Confirm ko lang if nag IED ka say for example sa VIC for 1mo. Then babalik ka sa ibang state like NSW after 3months, nagrereset ba ang counting per state or tuloy tuloy lang?

For VIC this is not the case... Bagsak ako sa first driving test ko and I retake after 1 month; all those times, valid pa rin naman yung PH license for driving in VIC.

Yung arrival or first entry to Australia ang basis nila kung PR visa.

    NSW

"If you are an Australian permanent resident or hold a permanent visa under the Commonwealth Migration Act 1958 and you intend to stay in NSW, you are not considered to be a visitor. As such, you are allowed to drive in NSW on a current overseas licence for a maximum of three months after arriving in Australia. If you wish to continue driving, you must obtain a NSW driver licence."

    VIC

"If you have entered Victoria on a permanent visa issued under the Migration Act 1958, you may drive on your overseas driver licence for:
six months from the date you first entered Australia if the permanent visa was issued before you entered Australia; or,
six months from the date when the permanent visa was issued to you if the permanent visa was issued to you whilst in Australia.
If you want to continue driving in Victoria after this time you must change your overseas licence to a Victorian driver licence."

Wife is the primary visa applicant.

Need kasi mag adjust sa driving dun kasi right hand drive sila di ba?

My car is just second hand, 2000 model civic hatch...

When you break a traffic rule, a letter of infringement will be sent to the person who is currently registered sa car that you are using. Having said that, no di ma confiscate yung license mo.

to be very honest, mas natakot ako na mabigyan ng infringement notice as it carries a very heavy fine (at least more than $150 on the average)... :)

Tama ka. Mas matakot ka sa fine kaysa confiscation ng license kasi basta safe and masunurin na driver ka and (knock on wood) hindi ka na aaksidente, there is no way for them to differentiate you from a legal driver.

Diretcho naman ata ang conversion nito eh! Like punta ka lang sa LTO in your Aussie State and pay the fee and pa picture...

Check your local "LTO" website for more details as iba iba ang patakaran per state...

Yeah, you can use your license anywhere in Australia pero if you will stay permanently in Canberra, at some point you need to convert into an ACT license. This should be straight forward naman.
