ako 1 lang... it came around 1 month after we arrived and i started work sa same firm when i had my one and only interview 1 day before we had our second month in melbourne.

Ako 1 interview for my current job and 3 interviews for my potential next job hehe. And I also had uncountable rejection letters like your qualifications are impressive but we found someone else more qualified for the role. If you search google on racism in australia, there was one study wherein they passed CVs where everything was the same except the name. Those CVs with anglo-saxon sounding names had more requests for interview while for other races the % success rate was approximately 60% and below.

ako 5 weeks naka 4 interviews na ako.. is it a good sign?
sana hindi lang puro interviews sana may job offers din..

o siguro kasi at this time of the year they rush to fill in those vacancies before xmas holidays

Sana makahanap ka ng work bago mag end October kasi Nov-Feb ang "break" nila dito. Tapos sa Dec hahataw lang ang mga temp/casual workers for holidays.

NIL.

But after two months, naka-4 na yata ako to date. With one job offer. Fingers crossed di ako papahirapan mag transition to Queensland health.

No. Subjective lang talaga ang hiring process. Very picky na gusto nila sakto sa previous work experience mo ang ina-applyan mo.

Good ito kung gusto mo pasukan iyun pinasukan ng kakilala mo. Ang downside nito ay hindi ka parating may kakilala sa loob ng company if meron man, kung ano image nya bad/good apektado ka rin dun kasi you were hired based on his recomendation. Pero at least naka pasok ka and it is up to you to make your own name based on how you work and who you talk to.

Guys, job market is really weak in Australia... what paid-off in my case is hardwork, diversify your skill.. think outside of the box...

no official job offer yet but company asked for references then job offer... still keeping my fingers crossed.

@gori congrats! ikaw ba ung SAP Basis? naku ang bilis mo makakuha ng work. Sabi nga ng iba normal lang daw na 2-3 months bago makakuha... Tska ang hirap tlga sa umpisa, laging hanap nila local experience hehehe

skn mga 2 job interviews ata ako during my first 2 months. Yung iba hindi ko niconsider na interview kase recruiter lang ung kumakausap skn. Yung 3rd job interview ko na over the phone ang naging successful pa. hehehe Then lumipat ako sa next job (na skype interview naman). :-)

Thanks. Yes ako yung SAP Basis. pero walang SAP Basis jobs all over Australia. In-demand dito sa Sydney is Infrastructrure support (OS, AD, windows Microsoft etc)

i realized na kung mag aantay ako ng SAP basis job magugutom ako dito.. so i explored yung ibang capacity ko.. i'm SAP basis level 2/3 support pero i marketed my level 1 helpdesk knowledge too as entry level para ma penetrate ko ang Infra Support..

in other words, career change ako dito dahil alam ko walang future ang SAP basis.. i chose to start at entry level then maybe after a year pwede na ako mag senior role as infra support

with that i had once interview every week as in...

advice ko is diversity your skills..

Really? sure, thanks.. I am checking SEEK wala naman postings for SAP Basis isa lang which I already applied... i guess that position nasa "hidden" job market... please send me the details through PM...

although I now have entry level IT position, di kataasan ang sweldo but through this I will have long term gain dahil in demand sya.. pero i would like to try din SAP Basis since yan naman talaga ang skills ko...
