Hi guys, share ko lang.. nagsearch lang ako sa APP Store by typing "IELTS" and there were several free apps available. yun lang yung mga ginamit ko during my 1-month review. sobrang helpful. sorry, I deleted the specific a name of the apps pero what I can remember is I downloaded all the free ielts apps sa phone ko. may practice pa for speaking, may pre-recorded question, then when you answer, marerecord din voice mo sa after the speaking practice, you can assess your grammar. may mga videos din ng how to answer the interview etc. may recorded listening test din, reading and writing. sakto. you can review anytime, anywhere. it helped me. Regarding writing, do not under estimate task 1. Remember this is 1/3 of your score. You should master writing letters for GT as well.
agree ako dito. feeling ko sa fear sa test 2 ng writing lahat naka focus dun hindi nila narerealise that this part 1 can be their saving grace. Para sa aking tingin ko talaga etong task 1 nagsalba saken para kahit papano maka 7.0 ako kasi hindi talaga ko confident sa task 2 ko.

for me, part 1 is parang warm-up mo..getting urself into the pace..so I would recommend doing it first with the right amount of time.

I'm really having a hard time in reading long passages. I get tired and bored in the end. Sigh. How did you guys overcome it?

Anyway, I would suggest watching all the episodes of IELTS Australian Network. I think they have 3 series with more than 20 episodes each. You can pick up ideas from a wide variety of topics. I always listen to this whenever i'm travelling.

skimming and scanning is commonly recommended for long articles..and you also need to brush up your skills with synonyms

im so disappointed tonight about my listening practise. I need to get at least band 8 but my practices can hardly hit it! I sometimes cant hear the word exactly like the 290 from 280, places from spaces, sometimes the word is when u know the conversation is over! Whaaatt!!!?? Then I get discouraged to continue further down to 15-20 or 21 to 30 or 31 to 40. Gusto ko xang ulitin ulit para makuha ko pero im not confident that i have improved coz inulit. Nakakawala ng gana to move on in the next part coz theres something i've missed earlier!

checking again with the next ielts schedule..ay salamat my sched na here in cebu for january ( gen.module)...problema nito na taon pa sa sinulog,ang busy ng mga streets at mga tao dito.
ay sana patnubayan tayo ni senyor santo ninyo,,.magnonovena tlga ako!,,hehehe...

but need na mg move on,,..huwag pa daig sa frustrations and disappointments,

If you missed an answer, move on and don't think about it or else you will suffer. To get 8.0, you often only need to have 4 to 5 wrong answer. So if you missed 1, move on or just write the possible answer on the answer sheet. Balikan mo nalang ulit during the "pause" sa end ng section. If di mo talaga ma remember, hulaan mo nalang ng best possible answer at the end of the test where you transfer yung answer mo sa answer sheet.

In the listening section, you need read the questions in advance. Encircle all key words while you read the questions.

When the audio starts, listen carefully. It helps if you know shorthand or invent your own. This will help you write faster in order to concentrate on listening. It is hard to concentrate on listening when you are busy writing. So writing fast is the key. Check spelling only during the 10 mins you are given to transfer your answers to the answer sheet. (Except for proper nouns. But most of the time, uncommon proper nouns are spelled in the audio.)

If you missed the current question, forget about it and concentrate on the next question. When you write an answer down, forget about it and move on. Don't correct spelling or even look at your answers. You will have time to review your answers after the audio.

During your 10 mins to transfer your answers, try to use common sense in answering any blank items in your answer sheet.

i think you need to relax a bit..watch an english movie without subtitles...have u tried LOTR or harry potter? try to understand all conversations...listen to podcasts while on the streets..

distraction is the worst enemy of listening exam, so practice more on controlling your focus.
if you missed out an answer move on, for an 8 band i think you can afford to miss out 5 so
don't worry about it

@markier87 been working in the lab of manufacturing companies for more than 5 years na. Recently, I visited Melbourne (business trip), I audited our affiliate doon. so prolly, Melbourne ako then transfer lang ako sa affiliate naming don.

@btarroja213 yup naubos ko na pero sa bandang huli puro GT nalang ginamit ko. siguro nga dapat Acad module gamitin ko this time. nagstop din ako magpractice 2 weeks before ng exam so eto ngayon, lesson learned. hays! i-take advantage ko yung review materials provided ng BC sa Ortigas. Andami nila review materials dun e..

@filipinacpa, grabe andaming materials na inaral mo...parang kinakabahan tuloy ako sa mga naging results nyo. So far gamit ko Cambridge 7 to 9 hindi ko pa tapos yung 9 with 3 days remaining prior to exam, hay.

Nung isang araw ko lang nalaman nung magregister ako na same day pala ang lahat ng exam dito sa dubai. Unlike sa pinas na puwede ibang araw yung speaking test.

Haha 2 reading test per book lang naman yun so parang 18 practice tests ng GT Reading.

Natapos ko yata to in 1 month then 2 to 3 weeks before ng exam ko nag li-low na ako ulit magpractice. Consistency and discipline are the key.

Then ika nga ni Simon, don't just test yourself because you will not learn from that. Internalize the practice tests you're doing which I believe I didn't. I'm more after on what scores will I get right after taking those practice exams.

@filipinacpa - dadgadagan ko lang ng tip, yung tipong enjoy ka sa mga sub-tests at magaan at relax ka kapag nag pa practice hindi yung pilit. factor din kasi yung pagod ka galing trabaho pero no choice kelangan mag review so time managment din.

Hindi ko pa sinisimulan ulit ang listening at reading review dahil pabalik naman ang strategy ko sa pag aaral, nag alot ako ng 1-2 weeks sa writing task 1 and task 2 tapos tuwing weekends mag Listening at Reading naman ako.

Vetassess doesn't require IELTS as a requirement for their assessment. So, I'm taking IELTS for DIBP purposes. Unfortunately, assessing body of Accountants and External Auditor requires Acad IELTS.

I'm 23 years old (25 pts) with only 3 years working experience lang (5 pts) plus my educational churvaness (15 pts). So I opted to take GT since our fellas here have advised me that it's more possible to get an 8 in all bands (which I think is true, hirap nga lang talaga lol). So, if maka-8 ako sa Ielts, then i'll get another 20 pts, in total 65 pts. If only 10, pwede na rin apply nalang ng SS sa ACT.

So, bakit ko pa nga ba pahirapan sarili ko. Mag-GT nalang ako, easier as they said. Lol

@ImB korek! Imagine. I enrolled in Niner since January 2013 but I think I have only attended 3 or 4 classes. My full self-review started on mid-September (if I can remember it right) but somehow got bored and became more lax as my exam dates became closer. I've written only five writing task 1 and three task 2. I practice speaking tests a night before my exam. Reading and listening practice materials ko paulit ulit, as in familiar na nga mga sagot. Hehe. Of course, when checking my own answers, somehow biased. Lol for example plural ang nakalagay sa answer sheet at singular lang sagot ko, I will still consider it correct.

Nasanay ako siguro kaya ayan, 7.50 lang listening ko. Haha sa reading, test lang a ko ng test without reviewing my mistakes.

This IELTS would really need a lot of patience, discipline, determination and perseverance. Also, don't be so overconfident. Since I've experience to sit and take the actual exam myself, I can say that it's really possible to get high bands. Really high bands. If you want 9, you'll get 9. Hard work lang talaga. Pero so totoo lang, minsan nakakatamad talaga. Hehe

For the head start, i'm listening nonstop to the audio book of 50 shades of grey trilogy. Haha! Non-stop. Oozing and i'm loving it! Lol
