Thanks for this... Apparently I saw in my bill that the "previous" meter reading is just an estimate. I worked out the total consumption over the period where I was billed and it came out at around 2.5 (whatever unit of measurement it is...) per day...

However when I worked out the unbilled meter reading (actual reading in my statement versus the current reading sa meter ko), it turns out na less than 1 ang consumption ko.

I will definitely ask about this... :)

There is no correct answer for this question as I believe iba iba ang rate per area... So I guess it depends on your area.

But your bill is really expensive... I reckon this is basic use cguro diba?

Sa meter, ma check mo naman if what they charged you is reasonable or not...

work out your unbilled usage on a daily basis - compare mo sa daily usage mo in your billing statement; if super layo ang daily usage mo... then ask for a recomputation

@TasBurrfoot meaning the first billing youve received is just an estimate based on the previous billing trends? Mejo same sa SG billing na estimated and every other month then computed ung every other month.

@jengrata - I am not sure where they got that previous reading estimate... Ahahaha!! :)

Yeah I know sa Singapore, may estimates pero at least naman yung start ng readings (meaning when you first occupied the house) ACTUAL naman...

Ang hirap kasi sa case namin is that, estimated yung start... Ahahah!! :) I definitely was paying more than we consumed!! :D

@TasBurrfoot good thing you've posted your experience here because others may also experience same. So now we have to watch out for our billing as well.
not sure sa ibang states pero kasi quarterly ang singilan sa nsw. kaya kung nagstart siguro ang kontrata na patapos na ung 3 month cycle eh dun papasok ung estimate. next quarterly statement more or less normal na ang consumption.
@Jaero - i think i know where you are coming from BUT IN MY CASE KASI - ang estimate was on the previous meter reading (otherwise known as the meter reading when you started your contract)... Hindi mo na po iyan pwede mabalikan, eheheeh!! :)

If you get an accurate reading from the start of contract and the current reading will just be an estimate based on the average, okey lang iyan... The next time they will get the actual reading, it will eventually average out and you will pay more (or even less) depending on your actual consumption.

Ganito yung usual cases sa Singapore eh; every month ang billing but they don't get the reading every month but rather every other month. But they always ensure na at the start of our contract, the actual reading was measured.

how much po rent nyo sa 2 BR dyan s hurstville? - 315/wk pero wag mo aasahan na maganda ha :D

another question about s electricity and gas... pag pu ba mag re rent ng apartment ikaw mag aarange ng connection for the gas and electricity? - opo
and gano katagal..

Here are our cost for electricity, gas and water for the past 6 months; what I did was to get the daily rate from previous bills and annualise it then divide monthly.

Gas: $35.67 per month (Origin Energy)
Electricity: $56.47 per month (Origin Energy)
Water: $33.47 per month (Yarra Valley Water)

    All in $125.61/month sya...

    2 bedroom
    uses TV
    uses stove
10 min hot shower per pax daily
does not use heater and aircon
2 loads of washing machine use per week

Verdict? Mejo mahal sya compared to Singapore - doon kasi, we are paying the same amount more or less BUT we use the aircon everynight at least from 10PM until 7AM in the morning... we don't cook though but magkaano lang naman ang bawas noon diba?

    Revisitng...

As expected nagmahal ang kuryente ko during the summer season as we indulged ourselves with aircon usage every few days or so plus meron pa kami mga bisita dumating. Over a course of 3 months, may dagdag by approximately $50.

    Pwede na rin!

Our bill for 2mos is $260. We are renting a 3BR townhouse. 4 adults and 1kid. Centralized aircon, mga 7times nagamit for 2mos. Everyday heater sa pagligo. Once a week ang plantsa, 4times a week ang laba (kanya kanyang laba). Almost everyday ang oven at twice a day ang stove. With usage of microwave pag nagdedefrost. Once a week din ang vacuum. Then the normal appliances and gadgets like fridge, TV, fan, 2 rice cooker, laptop, iphones and lights. Kaming mag-ina whole day sa house so whole day nakabukas ang TV.

Yes, magastos kami sa kuryente. Hehehe.

considering 3BR townhouse kayo and 5 pax in the household kayo (plus whole day TV), okey na iyang $130...

Around $130 din kami monthly but we live in a 2-bed villa and kami dalawa lang ni misis. This $130 comprises of electricity, gas and water.
