Visa 475 - Things to do after visa grant until initial entry

edited June 2012 in Family Matters
Hi guys! I noticed sa mga threads na walang masyadong "things to do" for 475 visa holders. So I think it is a good idea to start a new thread.

I have few questions kase:

1. Since we are not entitled for medicare that the government provides, do you plan of getting health insurance upon arrival? And sa mga kumuha, please share nman how much and other details.
2. How can we register don sa State upon arrival? WA kase kami, should we register immediately upon arrival?
3. Any suggestions will be very welcome.

Thanks in advance!

    hello! we are 457 visa holders as well and arrived here in sydney last year. about medicare, yes po hindi tayo entitled kaya required ang private health insurance. sa application pa lang hahanapan ka na ng proof/letter from your chosen insurance provider. check out https://www.austhealth.com/basic-visitor-cover.php, we are under the family plan kasi tatlo kami dito with the kiddo. yung budget visitor cover, mas mura pero hindi covered yung out-patient services.

    about departure, need po ang PDOS and optional lang yung visa grant stamp.

    @annie23,

    Magkaiba po ang 475 sa 457. Sabi po sa CFO walang PDOS ang 475.

    medicare provider for 475 just applied for bupa (bupa.com.au) sila ang pinakamura,in case na magpacheck up kayo sa gp they will pay the 1/2 ba or 3/4 ng bayad mo..di ako sure either sa dalawa(1/2 or 3/4) pero ang sure you will be refunded.Pero walang kasama ang dental,pwede ninyo isama pero lalung mas mahal...ideally ang cost ay $40/forthnight ang mura pero may pagpipilian ka,however you should admit(in case) in a public hospital rather to private hospital..you can go to their site para malaman ninyo ang mga detalye,,in airport may nabasa ako b4 na hindi na nirerequire ang pdos just show your documents(visa,passport or if electronically) upon arriving just visit the regional migration office in where you belong and register there..if you are in WA go to the regional migration office.and takenote walang PDOS...for 475

    "god thank you for everything!!!!!1

    I think you can do away with attending the PDOS as mangagaling naman kayo sa Singapore... BUT, if babalik muna kayo sa Pinas then pupunta kayo sa Australia on a direct flight from Manila; for sure hahanapan kayo nyan sa immigration.

    Hope this helps!

    Annie had a good point but there are many other 457 visa health funds which can be compared on the comparison table I made at http://www.457visacompared.com.au/457-visa-health-insurance/

    Hello po fellow 475 visa holders. 5 months na kami ng family ko dito sa WA mandurah. Hanggang ngayon walang makuhang trabaho. ... since down talaga ang market mukhang malapit na kami maggive up at bumalik na lang ng dubai and find a job there. Ang hirap magdesisyon kc andito na kami kaso san naman kami pupulot ng trabaho e walang wala tlgang tumatawag af un maapplyan napakakonti ng para sa amin at madalas wala. Nakakafrustrate na dito. Kahit anong trbho inaapplyan namin kaso walang tawag pa rin. Husband ko casual lang ang take note every Wednesday lang ang duty nya. We cant survive the difficulties here. Baka may work kayo na alam na pwede kami tulungan... kc if wala na talaga uuwi na lang kami ng pinas ng anak ko at hanap na lang sa dubai husband ko ng work. Magkakahiwalay kami.... :(
