    Hello Good People,

As Promised, here is how my Test goes in Vienna today :

Listening- Inquiries on day care center, Whale watching dialogue and monologue about the famous photographer and its collections.

    * I think I did well with this test but the multiple choices are quite tricky!

Reading- Purchasing New and used cash registers, Company security systems, Bus Services informations and Long passages on Glaciers formation.

    * The most tricky part is the True/False/Not Given part but I think I managed it quite well.

Writing- Write a letter to your friend about an object you borrowed which you accidentally destroyed and Task 2 - Some people change careers at some point of their lives? Do you agree or disagree?

    * This is quite easy in my part especially on Task 2 because I myself is a career changer. I think that I nailed this test down because I still have enough time left to check my grammar and spelling.

Speaking- Personal questions about jobs, Asking me about how I like dancing, do people dance in the Philippines. Cue card- Talk about old people you love to talk to and why?.
Third round- What are the importance, contribution, things to do with, importance and working old people.

    * I did manage to answer all the questions but I think I dont like some of my answers on Dancing because Im not into it. On the cue card, I think I speak so fast that I had already spoke like 7 sentences but the interviewer still signaled me to talk more. I had some confusions with the old people questions. though I answered it spontaneously, I'm not sure if I answered the question well.

Overall I'm very satisfied with my general test performance but Im not sure about the speaking. What do you think @Lokijr and @itchan?
Hi Chefin, I did IELTS very recently. I am from UAE and we have exactly the same type of tests except for Speaking. I had a doubt also with that "Apron" which eventually I decided to write on as my answer. Was the answer to #1 "37.50" ; the listening part started just too quick that I missed it. By the way, If you don't mind me asking about, why do you consider going to AU when you are currently there in Austria which is part of Europe? Where do you intend to live & work in OZ? Thanks and God bless.

@chiffonscarf and @stolich18 - I work in Helsinki , Finland not in Austria.

To answer your question kung bakit gusto ko magmove to Australia while I'm already here in europe? For 2 reasons; Weather and Language. Why? Finland is so cold in the winter - nakakabaliw. Second, yong language - it's not easy to live in a place na hindi kayo pareho ng salita. That is why lilipat ako ng australia. I want to move to Melbourne or anywhere in Australia as long as meron trabaho.

One more reason why I want to leave Finland is that - i don't want to get stagnant here. You cannot get promoted in a higher position kung di ka magaral ng language nila. I would rather study french or german.

Based on my job performance here, I could be in a supervisory level now but my manager keeps telling me to go to Our company's Institute to study Finnish language before I get promoted. I said "thank you, but I wont waste my time studying your language". My point is, I already studied the basics bakit ayaw pa nila ako i promote.

@chiffonscarf - Good for you nakuha mo yong 'apron' na answer. Yes 37.50 yong answer ng number 1.

@chefin: That's really cool to sit for IELTS in Austria :) I understand, ganyan talaga minsan we really need to comply with their rules as when in Rome, do as the Romans do. Best of luck and successes in all your undertakings.

@stolich18 : Ayan sinagot na tayo ni chefin :)

thanks LokiJr for the info, magkaiba ng presyo ang BC and IDP and pati yung timeframe. hays gusto ko i try ang magparemark sa writing since medyo matatagalan kung kukuha ulit ako :( dahil sa CTS on my right hand. Btw, my IELTS Results (L:7.5 R:7.5 W: 6.5 S: 7.5 OB: 7.5).

@issa Hi! Yung sakin kasi yung score ko dati is L-8 R-7.5 W-6.5 S-7. Pero try mo rin po paremark if you think confident ka naman sa writing mo. :)

But i will push the remarking kahit parang kinahig ng manok ang sulat ko.:)

Gaano po ba ka-strict ang AU sa IELTS to score 7 in all bands? Wala bang consideration kapag may isa or dalawang 6.5? :D It means ba zero point sa English Pro?

@LokiJr Tama po. Iba pa rin yung practice na your writing on a sheet of paper while thinking ko the ideas that you need to write. This could give you the feel of the exam while you are still practicing your writing skills.
Imagine for GT, kaylangan mo ng 150 words in like 20 mins, and 250 words in 40 mins (that's how I budgeted my time) - tall order kung mabagal ka magsulat like me

But i will push the remarking kahit parang kinahig ng manok ang sulat ko.:)

I had common issues with you dun sa speaking (if you backread a little bit, namention ko din yun sa thread na to - pero isulat ko na lang dito to save time =D )

    1. mabilis ako magsalita non like you so nagkaron ako ng mahabang dead air na kahit anong piga ko, wala na akong masabi kasi nasabi ko na lahat

    2. di kami nagkaintindihan sa isang question that the interviewer had to clarify yung question while I was speaking kasi hindi aligned dun yung sinasabi ko

Pero yun, naging 8.0 naman ako sa awa ng diyos... feeling ko, they are more particular with yung technicalities ng speaking like how you organize your sentences, thoughts and express it effectively rather than correctness nung sagot...

kasi on a normal conversation setting naman, nngyayari yun madeadair ka, or di mo maintindihan yung tanong ng kasama mo then sagot ka na agad di ba, kahit tagalog pa ito...

@issa, I'm pretty sure may nagre-mark ng writing nila at na-approve naman...probably not here in the forum but IDP & BC claim that it's possible so might as well try it hehe :)

@itchan - i'll know my test result next week. Good to know we had the same experience sa speaking. I hope they will weigh more on sentence structure and delivery. I hope 8 din makukuha ko.
