Student Visa Question

Hi everyone. Is there any July student visa applicants here?

My papers are already lodged at the embassy last week of March, my uncle was my sponsor for the evidence of funds. All of a sudden, the Migration Agent called and said that the Embassy has a new legislation released last March 26, 2014 noting that an eligible family member who can support for the funds are only uncle or aunt who is an Australian citizen, and Australian permanent resident or an eligible New Zealand citizen and usually resident in Australia. Unfortunately my uncle does not fit with the requirement. Does anybody know if this was really true na last March pa ito na update? Baka kasi the Migration Agent wasn't able to inform us ahead or my lapse lang sila. What should we do?

Please I need your advice

Omg. Nabasa ko rin to and I asked some of my friends savi nla ok daw if aunt or uncle kaso nagbago na pala talaga... haissstttttt......

@netzkeenet yup, they did. kaya nga we are all puzzled with the new legislation coz everything was done and na lodge na yung papers. The migration agent isn't sure if it will be implemented to ALL or they'll have consideration with the applicants na ng lodge days after the release of the new rule. tsk. kasi it's not easy for the applicants to easily change specially on the financial aspect.

@netzkeenet Hi, they really applied their new guidelines

but they gave a little consideration. Binaba nila ng konte yung show money namin.

The DIBP sent an email:
April 15- schedule for medical exam
---Holy Week---
April 21- Medical Exam done
April 21- additional documents such as yung evidence of funds na dapat nka follow sa new guidelines nila, additional files for the sponsor and CoE from the school.

So far, yan palang po

@dreamprayhard84 hi. i really don't have any idea with the calculations sa show money eh. the embassy just sent an email with the figures i need, wala na yung calculations.

I went to IDP Cebu last Thursday, May 29, and the counsellor told me yes it is true, that only the applicant itself, the parents, grand parents, brothers/sisters can be the sponsor. and with the close relatives, it is only the aunt or uncle but must be an Australian Citizen. That's when I realized when I read the topic of this forum. I just didn't asked and confirmed about this new regulation if this is true or what :-( I'm so sad about this..

Hi everyone, just want to ask sa mga nakapag re-lodge po, meron po bang changes sa amount ng evidence of funds? or same amount lang yung need nila na show money from the 1st lodgement?

@lilsaint as far as I am aware you need to show funds for your first 12 months of stay in Australia. You can get more info sa Immi site, updated na po yan.
