From July 1, 2024, visa conditions for temporary workers in Australia are changing to prevent exploitation and boost productivity. Visa holders (subclass 457, 482, and 494) who lose their jobs will have: * Up to 180 days at a time (max 365 days total) to find a new sponsor, apply for a different visa, or leave Australia * The ability to work for other employers in any occupation during this time * The requirement to remain in their nominated occupation while working for their existing sponsor Sponsors must notify the department of any changes within 28 days.
