Hello guys, ask ko LNG kelangan ba valid yung passport for citizenship interview/test? Mag expire yung passport ko feb next year and not sure Kung kelan mareceive yung appointment for citizenship nagapply ako this July. Required ba na mag renew ng passport?

I think it doesnt matter pero to be sure call DHA anyway.. Its just a confirmation of identity kasi once maapproved application ko, you cannot update any of your info online until after ceremony. You will just update your passport details if you decided to become dual citizen.

Naguluhan din ako sa tanong mo :-), police clearance is only required for citizenship application if you have stayed 90 days or more in a country other than australia after your PR has granted.

Requirements for applications for Australian citizenship

The following requirements apply to the period of time you have held a permanent Australian visa.
You need penal clearance certificates from overseas countries if:
1. you lived or travelled overseas since the age of 18 years or over, and
2. the total time spent overseas added up to 12 months or more, and
3. the time spent in any one country was more than 90 days, or
4. you are requested to do so by the department.

Provide a penal clearance certificate from every country that you spent more than 90 days in.

Sorry. Now ko lang din binasa post ko. We are processing our citizenship now, and required kami ng police clearance kasi after namin nagentry nung 2014 bumalik pa kami ng Abu Dhabi for almost a year. Yung website ng UAE embassy dito sa Oz is really confusing. Pwede ng magapply ng police clearance thru their website but the thing is, once paid ka na, may matatanggap ka na email telling you two options of things to do. Nag upload ka na ng docs mo pero kailangan mo pa din isend yung original docs mo sa embassy. Kaya nakakalito. Anybody experienced this?

Hello guys, san po fastest way para mag req ng orig birth certificate? Pwede ba sa sydney embassy or consul? Di dw kasi original copy yung sakin pinakuha ko lng cya nag req sa local municipality sila may contact sa nso. Or dapat mag req sa nso direct?

Hi janine, sa akin nagpakuha lang ako sa munisipyo..from LCR tapos pinaLBC ko lang.. Wala kasi sa NSO record ko kahit 20years ago pa ako may pinacorrect sa entries. Wala naman problema, importante nandon pangalan ng both parents..di nga certified copy nong original birth certificate yong binigay. Yong parang cetification lang with your details, birthdate, place of birth and name of parents..

Just an update with the use of expired passport. Your application will go through if your passport is not expired yet upon the time of submission. There’s an option where you can choose “no current passport” but I’m not sure of its implication on the citizenship application.

Applied 30 January 2018. Still waiting. Pero misis ko approved na a week after the exam. Nag exam kami 17 & 19 July 2018.

Hi Applied Feb 15 2018..got test invite May 11..took the test May 21, immediate approval..Allocated ceremonyJuly 4...Applied in Brisbane ( Ipswich Council)

If no travel plans, i dont think you need to update your passport. No need to surrender ph passport when you apply for au passport but as per Philippine embassy Canberra, your Ph citizenship automatically cancels( dont know how it works kasi di naman maayos information database ng ph and i doubt kung matrace ba nila na Au citz ka na kung gamitim mo pa din ang valid ph passport mo when you travel). If you need to become a dual citizen, you need to apply and meron din ceremony of reacquiring your Ph citizenship.

Hello po. Questions lang po about citizenship.
Kelan po ba navovoid yung Philippine passport? Uuwi po kasi ako ng April 2019 and nakaschedule po ako ng citizenship sa 3rd week po ng February 2019. Ano po bang maadvise ninyo about sa ganitong situation. Wag na lang po muna akong mag oath if ever makapasa ng interview/test? Need ko po umuwi ng April 1st week. Salamat po.

@fgs thank you. Another question pano mag apply ng dual citizenship. Apply ba muna ng au citizenship? Then apply ph dual citizenship? Or pwede 1 form/application LNG dual citizenship. Sabi kasi ng friend ko yun ang gagawin Nya. Not sure na pwede yun?

You can only apply dual citizenship after gaining your australian citizenship..its a separate application because you have to reacquire you Philippine citizenship through the Philippine Embassy Canberra...upon gaining kasi ng australian citizenship, legally cancelled na philippine citizenship mo. Because of the Dual citizenship Act ng Pilipinas(2003 lang) we have not lost our citizenship under the conditions of this act. Ibig sabihin pwede kang saluhin ng pilipinas in case isuka ka ng australia( like sa may mga terrorism cases). Unlike kasi nong wala pa itong act, totally wala ka ng babalikan na Ph citizenship. But to reacquire( become a dual citizen), kailangan mo uli apply sa philippine embassy with matching ceremony din. Refer to the website for the requirements. Pag dual citizen ka and you used your Ph passport to enter P or other contries, Philippine govt ang responsible sayo(in case may mangyari) not the Australian govt.

@fgs Ask ko lang po, kelan po navovoid ang Ph passport? Once na makapasa sa citizzenship test or once na mag oath taking? Uuwi po kasi ako ng early April, eh ang exam ko po eh 3rd week ng February. I doubt naman po na makakuha agad ako ng Au passport (if ever pumasa) within that time frame.
