Guys, good morning! Meron pala kami 1BR apartment sa Prahran, VIC which is about 15mins (4.5km) to Melbourne CBD. It is just 150m (2mins) to the tram stop, 175m (2mins) to bus stop and about 600m (8mins) walk sa train station. Very accessible if you still don't have a car, near sa city or wanted to keep the costs down sa transport. I am under contract for this apartment up until November 2015 so if someone will move in between May to June, there will be 5-6 more months left sa contract with the option to renew. I think this will be a perfect arrangement sa mga bagong dating sa Melbourne who wanted their own place malapit sa city.

Yung major supermarkets Coles, Aldi, Woolworths, even the local Prahran market are all within walking distance lang. My child's daycare is also just 8 minutes or about 4 blocks away. We have about 4 parks within 5 minutes in all directions including Albert Lake Park.

Yung nakita ko pala na advantage sa pagpili ng area na ganito is when you start to account the transporation costs sa weekly expenses ninyo lalo na pagfamily. If malayo sa city or if your child goes to a day care na mag-cocommute, it will easily add up kasi 4 years old and up meron na kasi pamasahe didto. Each time punta ka grocery or market, added costs pa rin.

We just arrived here in Melbourne last November 2014 at find this place to be a very good and safe area for families. Me and my wife both has work na at ako naman, IT subcontractor so most of the week, home office yung work ko. My wife's mom is now working on her tourist visa para siya magbabantay sa child namin kaya we need a bigger place soon.

For the costs pa, eto yung usual na monthly namin
Rent - $1,260/week
Electricity - $75/month
Water - free / included sa rent
Gas - $35/month (malakas kami magluto ni misis)
Internet - $60/mo 15Mbps line at 100GB cap
TV - free Aerial Digital TV, meron din all kids na channel sa aerial

Tapos as a PR couple with 1 kid, we get from Centrelink about $800+/mo including Rental allowance.

I am aiming to move out dito between May and June 2015 so plenty of time sa mga nagbabalak. I can adjust my moveout date depende sa schedule sa papalit namin.

@cgm - Hello! My partner and I just moved here in Melb. We are currently staying with relatives in the suburbs. Pero ang layo sa CBD.
