I'm still waiting for my Vetassess Result and I will take PTE at around Mid May.

kailangan mo ng positive result from your assessment and English proficiency exam for your EOI to progress.

@Hendro tama si sir @kaidenMVH . Kailangan nga po positive assessment muna and may results na si PTE. Dun lang po kasi pwede ma-compute yung points nyo na gagamitin ni Skillselect na basis para ma-invite

@kaidenMVH thank you for your input. I got all the answers yesterday upon reading the 10/10 pages by AACA on how they do the assessment.

As how I've understood the guidelines (lets take this statement of mine as an example just to get a clear picture), its like the UAP in the Philippines as the assessing body, then if a non-filipino applicant tries to submit for assessment and found their education equivalent or higher, then they'll be allowed to take the licensure exam for architects by the PRC. I'm just not sure though if the above mentioned had a history in reality.

True. I also had a work colleague who is an architect back home in his country (white south african), and had an experience working in australia but his profession was not architect but a project builder/associate/architectural technologist/technician or something like that in nature who is someone in the construction field doing site supervision.

@engineer20 I am still undecided so i just left my vetassess still incomplete though I've move forward upon deleting all the post grad education short courses information and the related docs that I uploaded as a proof. Yun pala ang nag cause kung bakit nagpoprompt ng message for not allowing me to proceed in the payment. For now, while waiting for the IELTS exam report that I took few days ago, I'll just do my further research and seek which occupation is more in light to my overseas experience and in demand right now and open for 190 & 489 ss. I became a little bit suspicious, doubt and wondering upon knowing about having nec on 312199 anzsco. I got aware what nec stands for upon reading other forums that the (99) represents the nec which also applies for other occupation. I want to understand first and get a clear picture on what is the scope of a certain occupation having nec or how far can it hold a task & responsibilities as i'm pretty sure it affects the figures before getting offered. Basically I just want to see first which state whose got a big pond with giant tunas. I know it may take a while though, and by the time i can make up my decision on which nominated occupation to push thru for assessment hopefully within this month I hope i can finally make thru with payment for assessment. Then I'll be on the waiting time stage. I guess I'll just have to work on with the preparation of AACA assessment once i'm in AU if granted a visa. I'm projecting a 3-4years long of road to venture for this AACA accreditation.

True, yung AACA accreditation niyo pwedeng gawin once nasa OZ ka na as PR. I would still suggest sir you check either Project Builder or Archi Draftsperson, then just consider lang ang 189 or 190 kasi yun lang ang quicker way sa pagiging PR sa OZ. 489 kasi hindi sya PR, provisional visa lang sya for two years.

@Hendro in my case sir, gumawa ako ng skillselect account months prior to lodging my EOI, kasi pwede naman. Inabang ko lang pero i just lodged my EOI once completo na ang Skill Assessment ko at ang english test result ko.

@OZingwithOZomeness thank you for your suggestion. I appreciate it and I'll take note of that non-PR 489. I might still though consider 489 S/T visa given all the declared nominated occupation and grant to move in AU, I'll just have to make sure that whatever hiring position that I get contact and aligns with my declared occupation, can provide or offer a very attractive figures and benefits even if its a non PR job as long as it can make a whole lot of difference.

@Hendro welcome. if your wife will still be pregnant after lodging your EOI, di mo muna ideclare yung unborn baby mo kasi sa huli hihintayin parin nila mapanganak ang baby mo kasi need nila ang passport ng baby mo. Now, if you are invited, you and your wife will need to take a medical exam which includes X-Ray. Hindi allowed ang Xray sa mga preggy so your wife will have to wait after managnak at ma clear na pwede na sya Xxray. But all through out this process you need to update the department of any development sa situation mo kasi nirerequire nila ang transparency.

I have a collegue na preggy during EOI stage and also during lodgement of their visas. Ang nangyari is hinold muna ang assessment ng visa application nila until makapanganak ang misis nya kaya medyo natagalan sila. Then pagkanganak and after clearance nag medical na ang wife nya, then details about their new born baby sinubmit nila. And na grant naman sila ng PRship. Now they are in OZ na.

Somehow ganyan magiging situation niyo sir. Pero tuloy niyo lang importante makapag lodge kayo ng EOI at mainivite para nakapila na yung application niyo sir.

I know madami tayong mga kababayan dito na may parehong situation sa inyo sir. Let’s see kung ano naman ang mashashare nila, kasi ang mashare ko lang is yung about sa experience ng collegue ko kasi somehow parehas sa inyo.

In terms of benefits 489 will not have the same benefits of a PR or Australian Citizen like example Medicare and etc. You will also have to work in Regional Areas only not in the cities of any state. Example kung sa pinas, halimbawa instead of metro manila, you will only be allowed to work in Cavite or Batangas or the likes. Sayang din yung benefits of being a PR pagkadating na pagkadating niyo sa OZ. In visa 489 you have to wait for two years to apply for PR, which means another effort and time consuming although through pathway visa 887.

Processing time of visa 489 is also unavailable due to low volume of applications. I have a collegue who lodged his visa 3 months before my visa lodge date under visa 489 but until now wala pa ring balita ang kanyang application, samantalang yung visa ko was granted na last month. Goodluck sir and may you decide what’s best for you.

May clause ba ang 489 visa na yung parang may subject to special condition ang extension ng visa for a certain period lalo na kapag ang isang project ay hindi matapos tapos on time as per agreed signed contract ng client at developer/builder due to some valid reasons?

@Pinoy_Imphotep You can check dito sa link ang status ng mga occupation if kung saang state at kung saang visa type pwede ang certain occupation (consolidated na sya) Tapos detailed na rin sya kung ano ang job responsibilities ng isang occupation, so you don’t have to second guess kung ano ba dapat ang occupation ang para sa iyo. Then under a certain occupation nakalagay din dyan ang ibang related occupation nito. Example archi draftsperson under it may building associate, project builder and etc etc, Very helpful actually ang site na ito kasi updated sya lagi according to every state needs and sa DHA. Nakalagay na rin ang general major requirements ng every state.

@batman Salamat sa input mo bro. I'll keep that in mind...ireretest ko ulit sa visabureau kasi on my initial try ng project builder i got 489 thru family. Kaso i dont think my partner would be in favor sa 489 family sponsorship...we don't aim relying to relatives. If upon my retest and resulted to 489 state, then I might consider having the 489 state to be lodged and if got positive from vetassess. We'll see.

@Pinoy_Imphotep 489 family sponsored doesn't mean you have to rely sa relatives mo, still you on your own. kong saan ang best path doon ka. kasi migration rules are changing every now and then, I heard, they will soon remove PR visa and retain the temporary visa na lng. kaya kong this time may opportunity ka na na makapasok sa AU kahit anong type ng visa kunin mo na.

@batman Cge bro I'll keep that in mind. Maraming salamat sa input mo. But can you please enlighten me coz i'm having this notion based on my readings articles that even though the main sponsoring relative is already a PR, hindi ba't may chance na maderailed eto whoever is under it lalo na kapag ang main sponsoring relative ay nasubject into an unfortunate/uncalled situation that eventually will result to loosening the PRship privilege including everyone under it?

(kindly excuse my ignorance at this early stage regarding the above mentioned matter)

I'm wondering papano inaassess ni vetassess ang employment history. Will they only focus on doing the review on the absolute years nung employment background sa resume ng isang applicant kung saan yung related task/duties or occupation lang ang related or similar to the nominated occupation na pinapaassess? I've raised this question kasi I might have over weighted the years assignment sa employment on testing thru visabureau and i'm a bit confused if whats best number of years ang iaassign kung the whole history of employment ba since graduating the bachelor degree including PH work experience and iaasign or just the years from the beginning of overseas employment.

Although lets say if my nominated occupation is 133112 project builder, then having a degree and license in architecture back in PH with all the design and site supervision experience & tasks/duties, but when it comes to overseas naging purely focused na lang sa site supervision. icoconsider ba ni vetassess ang PH experience? Kasi if considered, it will boost and could attract more to achieve positive outcome and fattens the nominated occupation as qualified.

@Pinoy_Imphotep If I'm not mistaken po, last five years from the date of lodging your VETASSESS application lang ang ina-assess. Pero syempre it will be up to you kung ipapa-assess mo lahat.

vetassess will assess based on the last 10 years of employment from the date you submitted your documents sa vetassess. as long as you have the supporting documents, kahit san pa yun location ng work mo they will review it. they will take out your first 1 year of employment as a qualifying period to meet the skill level required for the nominated skill. meaning parang sa basketball rookie ka pa lang so hindi pa considered as "skilled' yun 1st year mo. that's will leave you with 9 years but still ok kasi it will still give you max points sa employment. our license won't have any bearing pagdating sa employment assessment kasi they will base it sa duties and responsibilities na ilalagay mo for each job/company na kasama sa employment history mo. maybe it will have bearing sa education qualification. That's why it is important na kapag nagpa assess you have to decide alin ba talaga yun gusto mo na ipa assess. proj builder?archi draftsperson?construction man? kasi kung sa isang company nilagay mo job responsibility mo as proj builder, then sa isang company nilagay mo architecture technician ka, they will count it as separate and you might not get the max points. but because as project builder you might have done drafting and preparation of drawings, you can change your designation to architectural coordinator and put you duties and responsibilities as that of architectural technician, then yu can get the max number of years and points sa employment.

Kung 5 years lang pala then that means over weighted pala yung generated points na makukuha kasi may mga answer selection sa free test ng AU visabureau website in knowing the points kung saan may option na pwede iassign or isagot ang "eight of the past ten years" tsaka 6years above working outside AU.

@kaidenMVH Maraming salamat sa input mo bro. Kasi in my case (overseas exp), i was more on project site administration (lead consultant ng project 3rd from the highest ranking staff sa mga nakita kong organization chart sa projects na naassigned ako). Madalang ako nagddrafting kc i was more on review and approval ng submittals ng main contractor prior to execution at site ensuring all containment are in accordance with the project specs. And I've been doing these tasks/duties for about 88 months or 7.3 years in abroad (112 months or 9.3 years kung kasali PH works minus the 1st year) and also liable whatever may be the outcome upon my review and approval especially dun sa mga companies na employed ako kung saan walang requirement for final approval of any colleague or supervisor higher than me kundi ako yung final approval and it goes straight to the main contractor for their implementation. If something really bad happened at site and proven that it was all due to my review & approval upon overlooking some points that must have been considered and incorporated, the client's gun barrel can automatically be pointed at me. hehehe basta parang ganun yung importance ng naging role ko. I doubt I would be given a positive outcome if i push an arch draftsman kasi madalang nga lang ang activity ko sa drafting kaya hesitant ako in assigning draftsman occupation.

@Pinoy_Imphotep in that case your best bet is being assessed as Project Builder, which unfortunately upon checking wala halos open ngayon na state. or you can try as Construction Proj Manager.
