This is what I have came up as our approximate budget in Melby for the first 3 months probably - please feel free to add comment.

    Approximate Budget in Melbourne
    Rent: 575.00
    Mobile: 70.00
    Grocery: 300.00
    Transportation: 275.00
    Electricity: 100.00
    Allowance: 675.00
    Total: 1,995.00/month

    Thanks guys!
    @psychoboy
Hmmm.. yun rent parang mababa, lalabas around A$140 / week. Yun grocery din medyo mababa, kami family of 3 around A$150-200 / week grocery. Combination ng bus and trains.. A$52 / week so around A$208 / month. Electricity naman, pwede na if matipid and hindi masyado nag h-heater and aircon. Kami kasi around A$400 / quarter. Anu sa tingin nyo boss?
@Bryann - this is budget for and my wife... :) Rent is actual, we have already secured the room for at least the 1st month. Eventually this will easily double.

Yung grocery ninyo, I am curius ano yung mga binibili for around A$150/wk? :)

Wow mura yun if ganun, dito kasi yun mga nakikita namin na for rents, pinakamura na siguro A$290-300/week. Yun grocery, meat, veggies, nappies, formula milk, juice, milk, bread, (the usual). Then ako naman lunch ko sa office normally canned Tuna, which on special is just $1. Minsan naman nagbabaon if madami naluto for dinner. Although lately meat na lang binibili namin and canned goods from groceries. Seafood and veggies sa mga fruit stand na lang and asian na seafood vendors. Magkaiba siguro talaga cost of living ng Syd and Melb.

Yun allowance @Bryann - misc expenses na iyon for everything; kasama na yung konting pasyal during weekend.

Please take note that this is just a forecast of what I think will be our expense - it may exceed this... :)

    Hi Guys

Me & hubby have recently been approved with AU PR. Right now even in SG, I have started applying for hubby trying to land him a job (just in case). With respect to salary expectation, what's your minimum base salary expectation to live comfortably in AU?

    Good luck and God bless...

For individual. Most naman dito either isa sa magasawa ay part time o casual job at isa nman full time lalo na kapag may mga anak na sila. Yung iba nag cli-cleaner pa or sa groceries nag wo-work part time para pang dag dag income.

    chears..

Feeling ko po kaya. Pero depende din kasi sa gastos mo. And in the first few months, andami start-up cost like gamit sa bahay, or kahit yung wifi modem bibilhin mo pa, car, rental bond sa apartment, etc. So, sa umpisa, hindi din masyado makakapag-ipon. But I think, with time and with Australian work experience, gaganda na ang sweldo. Makakapag-ipon eventually.

Andami ko na na-meet Pinoy dito who've been here for years, even decades. Relatively comfortable na po mga buhay nila. Ang iniisip nila mortgage na sa bahay. :)

You can do a vehicle history check online before buying a car. On my first year here in Sydney, I was able to buy a honda accord car, then after a year binenta ko ulit to buy another used car, honda crv naman. :-)

    budget 4K$ - 5k$.

@pyschoboy, i bought it two years ago 2011... it's a 1999 honda accord. Then binenta ko sya last year... then was able to get a 2000 honda CRV for the same price na pinagbentahan ko na accord.
