Hello guys,

A licensed chemist here planning to immigrate to Australia. I need infos and tips for the skills assessment guys. I've been working as a chemist since 2012. Kaso paiba iba ako ng employer. The longest that I've worked for the same employer was 4 years. But all in all, 6 years na ang experience ko. Never been to research and development. Analysis of envi samples ang focus ng work ko. Mejo doubtful kasi ako kung nameet ko ba yung requirements for a positive feedback ng VETASSESS. Share nyo naman insights nyo at what docs you prepared. Thank you po sa inyo! xoxo

Hello @rrj08 , are you sure you wanted to be assessed as chemist? Kasi tinanggal na ang chemist for skilled migration so for me no point na iyon ang ipapaasses mo..

Ay ganun po ba sir @Hendro? Mali palang info yung nakita ko. So if hindi na po xa kasali dun sa skilled migration eh hindi na rin ako pwede para dun sa skilled visa? So based po sa experiences ko as chemist dito sa PH, what's the best thing to do for me to be able to work there in Australia? Ano na pong visa yung dapat kong kunin?

Hello @rrj08 The closest occupation for you is chemistry technician or laboratory manager but you have to satisfy the requirements of Vetassess and you have to check whether the task outlined for that occupation matches your work experience.

Currently, the only state na open for chemistry technician is South Australia, pero ngclose na sya last Friday at napunta sya under special conditions, meaning to say the only way for you to apply is to have a total of 80 pts ( including state nomination ). Alternatively, you have to wait next fiscal year once they open again, but there is no guarantee that they will open that occupation next year.

Quick question sir, ung 489 path ba kailangan talaga mag-run sya for 2 years before makaapply for PR?

@herlynD that’s right. That’s why 489 Visa is called provisional. It’s usually easier to apply for an occupation lower than what you have rather than the other way around.
