PS3 Compatibility

Hello guys, checking on the gamers here: I have a PS3 from Singapore and I thought of bringing it over in Melbourne next month, my only concern here is that will it work? There is such a thing as region...

Forums from google said that there won't be any problem however I am skeptical bout it.

alam mo yan din worry ko, kasi nag-uwi ako ng DVD para sa anak ko from AU (while searching for work) at hindi ko sya na-play sa PS3 ko dito. Hintayin ko sagot dito.

guys...based on our experience we also bought the ps3 consoles and games here in SG...pro tingin q compatible nmn yn pag dinala nio sa Australia kc yng anak ko(from SG), ka swap ng games ung pinsan niya from Brisbane, when we all had our vacation in pinas...so far nagagamit nmn nila sa Oz like yng assasins creed

I'm not sure about region locks on the ps3 pero I ordered most of my games online in the UK and in play-asia kasi mas mura dun compared dito. Pero nung nag-order ako sa play asia ng god of war US region, wala namang compatibility problem sa ps3 ko.

Well, palabas na naman yung ps4 this coming xmas, though I don't think it will have 'ps3 disk' playback, it can pero yung download versions only.

nung dumating ako dito sa australia nagdala ko ng games na binili ko sa pinas, no problem naman.

Yung PS3 ko sa HK ko binili many years ago. Dito ako bumibili ng games sa Sydney at gumagana naman, wala pa kong nabili na hindi gumana. Ang hindi lang gagana sa PS3 mo yung mga DVDs and movie blu-ray disks kasi yun ang may region lock sa PS3, unless sa SG mo nabili of course.

Dalhin mo PS3 mo as it gets boring here sometimes. Kahit anong bigat pa nyan, it's a must that you bring it. :-)

NTSC naman pareho AU at SG hehe...nga pala bibili ka rin PS4 kung sakali? :P

Kung may trabaho na ako at may pambibili why not? then again, priorities may change by the time they release it...

oo nga pala.. just to add din dito. R Rated games recently lang inapprove na ng Australian government to be allowed na. (basta may proof of age lang pag bibili)
Pwede na ko makabili ng Mortal Kombat with Freddie Krueger and Kratos.
