may question me regarding driving. is it advisable to learn driving and get drivers license while still here in the Phils. Para medyo madali n mag driving lesson pagdating sa OZ? Kahit na wala ako car dito sa Phils so hindi ko mappractice. Sa Oz nman, bka it would take years bago ako mkbili ng car. I wasn't including this in my checklist but a friend (abroad but not in oz) told me na sana nag driving lesson daw sya sa Pinas.

@loudandclear, hindi ka ba talaga marunong magdrive or medyo marunong but den hindi ka nagdadrive? In my opinion, pag hindi ka talaga marunong magdrive much better get a driving lesson in Pinas. First it's quiet cheap compare here in OZ. Pag mkapagdriving lesson ka dyan malalaman mo ang lahat ng basic about driving, pagdating mo dito sa OZ madali na lg ang lahat. Road rules na lg ang dapat mong alamin. Pag dito ka talaga sa OZ magstart to learn to drive mauubos pera mo sa driving lesson, d bale na lg kng my kakilala kang magtatyaga sau sa pagturo.

But kng marunong kna mn lg magdrive ok na na hindi ka magdriving lesson jan.. Waste of money lg, dito kna lg maglearn ng proper driving and road rules.

In regards with license, much better kng merun ka galing sa Pinas. Kasi pag wla, pag dating mo dito ng OZ at pag kukuha ka ng driver's license back to #1 ka talaga.

@TasBurrfoot i applied thru migrant banking online. Meron option dun for online banking but it is only read-access so pwd makita kung na-credit na yung wire transfer mo. Mgfully activated lng sya once mgmeet-up na kyo ng assigned banker mo sa AU.

Tama ka... we can check online.. read access nga lng... that's why gustoko mag try muna if maka pasok ang money if through pay2home

@solidjeff, nag open din ako last weekend ng classic account with iSaver account but until now no confirmation or acknowledgment email from them, ganun ba katagal? sabi kasi sa website within 60s of receiving the application makakareceive ng email from them.
planning to wire transfer medyo malaki hbang mababa ang aud, sayang din laking tipid.

@nfronda, pag ba may driver's license sa pinas, start to 0 ka sa oz? i mean, need pa ba magtake ng BTT, FTT at kung anu pang exam? nag enroll kasi ako ng driving school sa SG, i already passed the BTT, at nasa practical lesson na ako. melbourne bound kasi kami ng family ko at nabasa ko na direct conversion ang sg driving license to au driving license. mahal kasi mag aral dito, my question is do you think it's worth it? but wala na din naman pala akong choice kasi nagstart na ako haha

@rooroo..pag wla ka DL from Pinas back to Zero ka, pag merun but less than 3 years you need to take theory test den practical test and when you pass the both test you will be issued Provisional license with few restrictions and can drive alone and waiting period of 2 years before you can get your full license. Pag more than 3 years, theory test and practical test and if pasado both full license kaagad.

And mas maganda sa sg kasi as what I have read from other comments convert kaagad into full Aus DL but I think that will depend how long you had your DL.

Yes it's really worth it. Mahirap pag wla kang DL from other countries pag pumunta ka ng OZ.

hi @nfronda. totally 0 knowledge talaga ako sa driving. my friend abroad regretted not learning how to drive while still in Pinas, mahal daw kase driving lesson, kaya yun din iniisip ko. thanks for the advice. isasama ko to sa checklist ko.

@loudandclear..Yes, it's better to enroll a driving lesson there in Pinas. Malaking tulong niyan kysa dito kpa mag-aral. Ung hubby ko nagsisisi din kasi 0 knowledge din sya sa driving at hndi xa nag driving lesson jan, mbuti na lg ang dad ko matyaga sa pagturo sa knya..

yes, migrant banking din. nagemail na yung customer service nila na ill be receiving the email in a while. salamat!

kakaemail lang kanina nagfollow up kasi ako kahapon kung nareceive ba nila application ko. kuha ko na yung account details ko. transfer ako funds this week. sakto may promo sila na may additional interest rates on top of the normal rate for 4 months. hehe pwede na.

hello guys,
I was planning to open na sana ng acct sa NAB but I just realized ngpa name change ako sa passport ko, next year end of Jan ko pa makukuha, baka mgka problema if andun na sa AU?

We were thinking under sa name nlng ni hubby since hindi nmn xa mg name change eh but then ng passport renewal din xa at next year Feb nya mkukuha, dba mgbabago ung passport number natin? Baka mgkaproblema din? Who had similar experiences here? Share nmn po.

dun po sa NAB account application, kailangan po ilagay ang passport details including validity date. So, I would suggest na hintayin nyo na lang muna ang bagong passports ninyo bago kayo mag-apply ng account.

bali yung total charges ng DBS ay S$30 plus may deduction na S$5.71, kasi ang sinelect ko na yung NAB charge ay ibill sakin not sa recepient (which is my account sa NAB). not bad! laking savings

@nfronda, dapat po ba makakuha ako ng certificate sa LTO dito saPinas na i have been driving for more than 3 years na para maka-diretso na ako ng full license after all the tests??

@staycool..I'm not sure if kailangan pa yan..Sa brother ko kasi hindi sya hinanapan, tinanong lg sya kng when did he start driving..Un lg at naging ok na.

Nope, di na kailangan yan... Makikita naman sa license mo as to when your license was first issued - here in VicRoad, they had a guidebook which contains details found in the various drivers license around the world; including Pinas...

Of course @meehmooh; they cannot credit your account without knowing your account number, BSB and SWIFT...

Super swerte ng timing ninyo; we transferred our life savings at around 1.3....

@meehmooh ang kailangan is account name, bsb and bank code lang. Ung swift ata is for bank wire transfer. Na-credit sya in 2days.
