Hi all! Im also an OT from manila. My wife is a speech therapist and we lodged our visa 190 application last sept 2019 and got granted just last month. Our first entry to SA will be on january 2021. Any tips from my fellow therapists?

Hello po hehe. I'm still in uni BS Speech-Language Pathology. Thank you!

Hello po, fellow OTs! :)) Would just like to ask if kamusta ang current practice ngayon diyan? May nageencourage kasi sa akin na magapply kaso pandemic pa kaya feeling ko mahihirapan pa if ever :( Practicing for 2 years pa lang po with experience in pediatrics, academe, and correctional centers. WFOT accredited din po ang univ ko pala 😊

Hi fellow OTs! May ask po sana ako about OT in Australia. I graduated from University of Perpetual Help- Las piñas. Sadly di pa kami WFOT accredited pero yung Biñan po is accredited. We went to our Dean po today and sabi po di po honored yung Doctor of OT and Masters sa UK, New Zealand and Australia. Tapos may tinawagan po Dean namin na student niya before from UPHSD-LP na nag try mag pasa ng application sa OTC, na decline since not WFOT accredited pero nag appeal po siya and then na accept po licensed OT na po siya sa Australia. We are thinking po na mag take ng risk mag pasa ng documents sa OTC ngayon. Any advice po for our situation? Yung curriculum naman daw po namin Batch 2018 is patterned na po sa US din. Also may 2 years experience na din po kami sa work. Thank you po! ❤️

To be assessed successfully, your qualification must be accredited by WFOT and equivalent to an Australian bachelor degree.

Are you talking about migration or employment. These are two separate things to deal with. You first have to be assessed to be able to migrate. That’s step 1 then step 2 is to get qualified so you can be employable.

If you want to work in the US, the entry-level requirement for OT is Masters, we are the last batch of OTs who took the NBCOT exam with a bachelor degree (we were grandfathered as what they called it in the states). For Australia, OTC only accepts graduates from WFOT accredited university, dapat din WFOT accredited din at the time of your graduation like sa UST 2010 onwards.

You may consider taking MSOT in UST or CDU, then take NBCOT in the states. UK is another option too.

This is noted Sir! Thank you! However, our Dean and also the head of perpetual Binan told us na Doctor of OT and MSOT is not yet recognized in Australia, UK and New Zealand po :( But will still consider this one po. Thank you po! ❤️

    Hi guys!

Another OT here. I'm planning to lodge my application this year. Will have my IELTS in a few weeks, and hopefully start applying by the time I get the results in April.

Tama ba intindi ko sa process?

    1. IELTS
    2. Apply for Stage 1 Desktop Audit
    3. EOI sa Visa (189 pa lang at the moment. Closed pa din 190. May employer kaya na nagssponsor for OTs sa Visa 186?)

At which point ko sisimulan yung Stage 2? Kasabay ba sa Visa? Or pag nakahanap na ako ng supervisor? Kumusta experience niyo looking for supervisors (aside from mga kakilala. Hehe.)

Meron mga employer na willing mag-sponsor for OTs, but mostly 481 visa. I think the hardest part is, applying for travel exemption due to COVID-19. if your employer can prove na OT is in need, they might let you in.

I started my Stage 2 noong nasa Australia na ako. First, you have to look for an employer na pwede magbigay ng supervision for at least 3 mos, most employers are not aware what is Stage 2 supervised practice, so you have to explain to them the process, konti lang kasi ang OT trained overseas and karamihan sa employers not familiar about the process pero in reality madali lang naman.

In my experience, halos wala rin naman pinagkaiba yun supervised practice sa fully registered OT, ang pinagkaiba lang meron ka goals na dapat i-attain when you are in supervised practice, and this can be easily achieved by the support of your supervisor. di ganon ka toxic, in three mos tapos mo na un.

    Hello po to all OTs.
Im a graduate of OT, WFOT accredited.
Im planning to apply for a student visa as an entry in Australia. Will that be possible po to apply sa AHPRA (for OT Registration) onshore while nasa student visa ako?

Im planning to take my Masters po sana.
But at the same time work as an OT. Will that be possible kaya?

Hello OT community! Ask ko lang, baka may mapadaan dito na nagregister ng license via OT Board of New Zealand? Ang plan ko is maging fully registered under them, then ipaconvert to AHPRA license. I'm currently awaiting results ng OTBNZ, nakakakaba, kasi wala pa ako nahanap na Pinoy na ganito ang pathway. I went this route kasi narinig ko na closed and OT Council ng Australia at the time of my application.

Hello! May OT community po pala dito! 🙂 I got my invite for 491 today. I hope to lodge my visa asap. Is stage 1 OTC okay na po skills assessment sa Visa or do I need AHPRA limited registration in applying for visa? Thanks po!
