go for it. maswerte kayo nainvite pa din. ung ida hirap. pagdadaanan tlga ang paghahanap ng Job. dumating ako dito sa SA june 15 then nagquarantine. mas mataas ang chance to get a job pag nandito na kasi pede kn agad magrequest ng police checks and etc.

Au mobile number and address din tinitignan nila. nung nasa SG/Pinas pa ako, apply ako ng apply pero wala man lng akong nakuhang invitation for interview pero nung nandito na ako kahit papano meron na. ang hirap lang kasi na walang local experience. yun lng tlga disadvantage. basta kelangan lng tlga ng mahabang patience. soon magiging normal din ang lahat.

Hello asking lang po if anyone here had their BM this year and still having a hard time looking for jobs? Thanks!

Was about to ask the same question.

Been here since Feb and still cant find a job. Kahit mga jobs na hinfi related we tried applying. Savings are starting to deplete narin 😥 #sadtruth

Hi @chabawamba, ask lang po namin ano pong line of work nyo?

Hi everyone, we just got invited via Visa 491 pero one of our biggest concerns is finding work in SA. My wife is a medical technologist and I'm in IT.

Ask po sana kami ng help and advice, should we stay and wait it out or should we go for it?

Thank you so much sa inyo :-)

Thank you ng madami sir sa advice! Kung may mga job opportunities for us naman po, need lang siguro sipagan talaga ng pag apply and paghahanap ng work pag nandyan na.

Noted po sa Au number. Hopefully maging okay na ang lahat. Thanks ulit!

Yes tama si johnnydapper. After 1 month of looking may job na din ako. A lot of interviews also. For me address and AU number importante talaga.

    Visa 489 Adelaide SA

Share ko lang experience ko so far.

Dumating ako dito last Feb 29. I think 1 or 2 weeks before nauso ang lockdown. For a month puro interview lang.

Still not an ideal work kasi minsan 2 weeks walang project so walang pera.

Nung June, may kakilala ang landlady ko na ni-refer ako to work as cleaner.

Training is 10 weeks. Sa mga nasa South Australia, merong funding ang government to some visa holders like 489. The original training cost is 2450AUD pero 350AUD na lang pag merong funding.

I really hope this goes well because I gave up my cleaning job kasi full time ang training. Now, I only have the casual local web developer job and a few thousands left.

I'm also planning to do food delivery later pag may budget na pambili ng bike.

@relaxhax I think depende sa job. May nakausap ako business analyst siya. After 3 months nakakuha siya ng work sa mismong SA government.

WordPress ang background ko kaya medyo mahirap. Madali kasi i-outsource yung ganung skill.

    Hi guys,

    Here's ours:

Mahirap kasi parang automatic na nafi-filter out pag wala ka pang Australian address and phone number.
    • Pero, nag reach out na ako to recruiters online.
    • Nung nag BM kami around 3 weeks ago, I got in touch with the recruiters and updated them with my Australian address and phone numbers. Sunod sunod narin yung tawag from them.
    • Sabi nila, yung job market, very tough nung around March, April, May. Pero it should pick up from now on moving forward, lalo na nag start na ang new financial year. So don't let your hopes down.
    • Paglapag namin dito sa Australia, inasikaso agad namin yung Centrelink namin. So nakatanggap kami ni misis ng JobSeeker payment. That's around $1,000 ($500 JobSeeker, $500 COVID ayuda) each per fortnight. Malaking tulong rin.
    • Ang original plan, yung $500 na ayuda fortnightly for COVID, hanggang September 2020 raw. Pero it might change. Di natin alam. Sana ma extend pa.
    • Luckily for me, nakahanap na ako ng trabaho last week. I'm in the IT industry.

Pag may tanong kayo, just reach out. I'd be glad to help. Thanks.

Hello Guys! Just a big update and that is, my wife and I are finally here!!!!
We just touched down around 8:45 PM Sydney Time, that's 4 hours ago, as of this writing - here in Sheraton Hotel.

I wanna make this update brief for everyone by writing down the realizations from embarking until we reached our destination airport, which is here in Sydney.

    1. Don't waste your money by reserving a seat since the plane has a lot of vacant seats due to the limitation of 50 passengers per plane. I was literally sleeping like a baby on 4 seats - all mine. :)
    2. If you think that you have excess baggage of 2 to 3 Kilos, don't worry and no need to pay extra for the extra baggage. They won't charge you for that since the flight is so empty.
    3. No need to wash and clean your shoes, unless there's an obvious mud or clay on it.
    4. Buy your duty-free stuff from your origin airport, Duty-Free here is closed, at least when we arrived. I was supposed to by something for my cousin to no avail.
    5. Disembarkation is so quick since there are only 50 passengers. we got out of the airport in just 15 to 20 minutes. Don't forget to declare the stuff or goods that you need to declare too.
    6. Find a seat that's close to the front seat of the bus or near to the door. You'll get out faster and check-in earlier than the rest.
    7. Pray, and don't forget to give thanks to our God! Enjoy!

That's all for now. Cheers to the next 14 days for me and my wife!
