Hello, Mag BM na din kami ng wife ko most likely end of April 2020.
Originally, plano pa namin mag PH. Purpose is to take driving lessons.
Anyway, mukhang straight to AU na kami from SG. Mahirap na at baka magka higpitan dahil sa COVID19.
Hope to meet you all in SA soon!

Same concerns po. Uwi sana kami ng Pinas ng partner ko to get her a driver's license and bakasyon before BM by June.

Yes, same here. planning to go through Manila muna sana para lang mag pa convert ng license to "Pro" pero mukhang derecho nlng ng AU this coming 1st week of May. Goodluck sa atin, hopefully yung virus is mawala na soon.

Before end of April 2020 sana. Naghahanap hanap na ba kayo ng matutuluyan? Possible ba na makakuha ng place (e.g. yung mga apartment type na hindi under Airbnb) even before arriving ?

Dito na lang kayo mag driving lessons. As per experience, iba ang driving dito kesa sa Pinas. Give way ang importante dito, hindi "right of way" tulad ng sa Pinas.

for me the biggest consideration is finding job, baka mahirapan tayo kasi nga meron paring outbreak and its still in its peak period. baka wala kumuha or mag interview sa atin.
pwede tayong makahanap ng matutuluyan(hotel ng last option) & 14 days quarantine is madali lang to stay @ home. yun nga lang yung job market.

I did my initial entry last Sunday, the day the gov't declared about 14 days self-isolation. I thought this self-isolation was a joke until I experienced it when I tried to open a bank account (long story). I am currently staying at hostel, and I think staying in AirBnB is not an issue too as long as you are alone.

Question po. One of my concerns with BM during this time is how to register for Medicare. Since 14 days kailangan self-isolation, that means we cannot make a personal appearance to enrol for medicare. God forbid we get sick during that interim period pero what if we do, and how can we get assistance if we’re not yet enrolled? Is there a way we can enrol without physically being at a Centrelink/Medicare service centre? Just throwing it out there to anyone who might have an idea.

Good luck, keep safe and healthy po satin.

Take note that visa 489/491 holders are not allowed to enter Australia during this COVID 19 pandemic. This classified as temp visa and you are included in the travel ban. You can see this in the homeaffairs website.

pwde nyo po i.email yung [email protected] para sa extension ng IED. most likely bibigyan kayo ng notice in pdf format na pwde pa rin kayo makapasok ng Aus beyond ng IED.

Oo pwede ka mag email sa [email protected] para extend of i-waive yung EID, just what @badblockz mentioned. nag email na din ako sa kanila and nag reply naman sila na hindi magiging ground for cancellation of visa if hindi mo na fullfill yung IED dahil me COVID pa nga.
