Hello, I'm new here. I decided to create an account kasi I'm kinda anxious na wala ako nakakausap na katulad ko rin na naglodge ng application for student visa. Details below.

    Lodgment Date: March 4, 2020
    Orientation Dates: April 8-9, 2020
    Intake Date: April 27, 2020

I'm just worried huhu the processing time kasi nagchange from 63 days to 88 days, naging 76 days to 4 months. I checked the website sa embassy, high demand daw kasi sa applications for visa subclass 500. Anyone here who has the same situation as me? :(

Current international students in Australia are mostly in precarious situations, especially since universities (I'm not sure about schools offering diplomas/cert) have moved all classes online. It's a struggle for everyone to get used to online learning, and having limited access to facilities and services (uni libraries are closed).

Another big impact is that many people (Australians and international students alike) have been asked to stand down or stop working, because of businesses temporarily closing down. Some have really lost their jobs, and are struggling to survive on savings. The Australian Prime Minister has emphasized that international students are expected to show 12 months' worth of funding for their first year as part of their visa conditions. The job outlook for the next few months will be very competitive, even for casual work, so that's something incoming students should consider.

I highly recommend contacting the school until you get ahold of someone (try calling), to get advice for new students. Right now, only Australian citizens and PR are allowed to travel to Australia, but they are subject to 14-day mandatory quarantine to an assigned location. Temporary visa holders are not allowed to enter Australia at this time, and there are no news how long this travel ban will last.

Hello. We're based here in Sydney. Ask ko lang nag apply po kami ng student visa ng partner ko nung Feb 2020 from 485 Visa then ang intake ay April 2020. Sabi nung agent kapag hindi pa daw na approve visa pwede ipa-defer sa June. So ngayon naka bridging visa kami, pero pina pa start na siya ng school kahit di pa approve yun student. Ganun po ba talaga?

I have a question po, if I apply for a student visa (2021 intake) and I have an existing EOI for 189 will this affect the granting of my student visa? Thank you.

Thanks. Really po? Kasi galing kami sa Temporary Graduate visa and unli work yun. Ang pagkakaalam ko kung ano working rights mo sa previous visa ayun din habang naka bridging visa and waiting sa decision ng next visa.

The best place to check your visa conditions and entitlements is Vevo. In case naman na walang working privileges ang bridging visa mo, you can always apply to have them reinstated by providing documents proving that the situation causes hardship on you and your family.

Last March 18 or 19, the Prime Minister also announced the lifting of the 40 hour per fortnight limit for student nurses although there was no follow up news about the matter.

Based on the news, travel ban for overseas will be lifted until next year. I'm not sure if that's only applicable for tourist visa. Pagkakaalam ko yong inaallow lang nila pumasok is yong naka PR visa. If you have agency, better ask them to make sure. The PM has given another 4 weeks of lockdown then gradually mababalik na ulit una muna yong schools.

So guys, I ended up deferring my class until July 2020. As of now wala pa rin update from my immiaccount except na ang processing time has been changed today. Naging 78 days to 5 months na siya. I have been checking my phone talaga everyday in case somebody calls pero wala. Also I've learned that Australia might consider adding international students as an exemption to travel by July. I've been closely watching sa mga updates din. My visa was lodged on 4 March 2020 and waiting parin until now. Really hoping na things will ease up soon.

Thanks in advance!

Hi @miyastart based on my experience hindi ako nagprovide ng details sa GTE kung bakit ko isasama ang partner ko. Pero nagsubmit kami ng Stat Dec/Affidavit as one of the 'Evidence of our relationship' and doon na namin inexplain kung bakit kasama si partner.
    Hope this helps.

Hello, as a student here in Sydney, save it until this all over. Classes are still online and they allow student to start their classes kahit nasa Pinas ka pa but binabayaran mo same fee. Lugi ka. Some school hindi nagbibigay ng discount to students. Besides, walang work dito companies are laying off employees. Companies hire citizen and prs only atm. And It is uncertain kase increasing ang cases dito. Just ready yourself for IELTS or other requirements so when this is all over, ready ka na sa documents mo.
