Request to change Surname in Visa 189 (from maiden to family name)

Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to check if someone has the same experience and how did you update it.

My wife has used her maiden name in out visa details when we applied, reason is that we wanted it to be consistent with her Ph passport during the application (3 years ago)
Now we are planning to update her Visa 189 surname to my family name. She already got the updated PH passport with my family name. I tried updating it through the ‘Immi account update passport details’ section, but somehow the available reason options are only the following: [Expired, Cancelled, Damaged, Stolen, Incorrectly Recorded, Lost]. How did you proceed or are there other items that I missed?

And follow up question is how did you link the new surname to Australian gov’t services like medicare, ATO, land title docs? Did you use ONLY the Philippine marriage certificate as a linking document or area there any other requirements like RDBM?

You need to fill up the Form 929... and just follow the instructions mentioned in 1st page of the form.
