Question on 3-Year Work Exp Condition (186)

Grumaduate po ako sa IT degree ko nung Nov 2020 in an Australian uni tapos before that may two years akong experience sa work, then ngayon may one year na ulit. Sa 186 po ba ang bibilangin lang ay yung work experience ko pagkagraduate in Australia? Or maaari nang isama yung two years ko pre-graduation? Salamat po, baka sakali lang

Timeline:
2018 Feb - Arrived in Australia (Student Visa)
2020 Nov - Finished degree (Bachelor's in IT)
2022 Jan - Skills Assessment Result, Suitable for Migration under ICT BA 261111
2022 Feb - EOI lodged with 85 points
2022 Jun - Passed NAATI
2022 Jul - Re-lodged EOI with 90 points
2022 Aug - Lodged ROI (VIC)
2022 Dec - ITA received - 189
2023 Dec - 189 GRANTED โ™ฅ

Thank you Lord!

I am not an expert on the subject but further reading here might help you.

For 186 visa you need a skills assessment, here your experience will be quantified. Since you're in IT, the assessing body is ACS.

You might want to do more reading into ACS assessment, there's a separate thread here on the site.
Quick note, based on ACS they're deducting at least 2 years (more if you're not from section 1 school) from your experience to equate you to your job role.

Since this is visa 186, a employer nominated visa. Haven't you tried contacting your employer if they have a migration agent? They might help you with the process and requirements, as they still need to nominate you before you can apply if not mistaken.

Yeah Iโ€™ve actually read it here pati on the ACS site itself tons of times over the past year, it wasnโ€™t like I just logged in yesterday and decided Iโ€™m going to lodge a skills assessment on the spot ๐Ÿ˜‚

Iโ€™ve read it and consulted with my agent, they recommended I go through with the assessment - since we were considering 189 before this. I wasnโ€™t sure about the 186 subclass requirements kaya I asked in this forum about it. Per ACS checklist so I just need one year of Australian work experience since I finished a bachelorโ€™s in an accredited Australian university last year :) so donโ€™t worry about whether Section 1 ang school ko or not lol.

Not sure if my employer has an agent but my line manager did offer to sponsor me, though yun nga pare parehas kaming unsure about the specifics of 186 subclass (like do they only count post grad experience) since our department hasnโ€™t sponsored anyone before. Iโ€™ve covered the bases but posted here to be sure! :)
