UZ Subclass 496: Visa Grant

Hi, Pinoyau.

I'm new here. We finally got our visa grant last July 2 after 6 years of waiting. Just wondering what preparations do we need ex. documents we need to bring to Aus, health records, etc. We are planning to leave April 2014. Hope to hear from other 496 holders who are already in Aus as well as those who are still here and are already Aus bound. Thanks in advance.

May i know when your case allocated? and what is your lodgement date? We have the same visa subclass and we still waiting for allocation.

@antbell Thanks antbell! We were contacted by our agent last May 30 same day they received an email from DIAC/CO requesting for health checks, passport bio-pages and police clearance. We lodged our application Aug. 2007.

Wow! we were contacted by our CO last May 27, medicals done by June 13. But up to now we're still waiting for their decision. Nakakainip na magantay,hehe!

We received email from our CO last July 29 informing us that the " only outstanding requirement is the finalisation of the medical of my son". But that was almost a month ago. I'm really hoping to hear from them soon.

@hard2handle thanks! Konting this na lang yan. Check also with the clinic on the status of the medical baka may additional test na kailangan.

@axln,ok na from local clinic's side e. My son was diagnosed with ptb complex last year but has been treated already.i believe yun ang reason kaya matagal.they even asked for certification from pedia,& we thought ok na un.

Anyway,team 6 din kme. Melbourne bound if ever.

@hard2handle ah ok! konting dasal na lang yan. Victoria bound din kami. Yup next year pa alis namin. May school pa kasi mga bata dito and kelangan din paghandaan. Good luck!

ung medical ng hubby is same scenario sa son mo. nag further medical test hubby ko pero sa pinas pa ito way back 2008. then only this year pinaulit kami ng medical kaya dito na kami sa SG inabot. since 2007 iba pa CO namin, parang naka 3 na nga kami. sa of this writing ung health undertaking form pina fill up then english language charge (ELC) na evidence na nakabayad. itong elc upon arrival sa aussie kelangan maka enroll.

as of this morning eto sagot ng CO ko sa ELC:
While the visa you applied for (UZ 496) on 09 July 2007 is no longer offered for new applications, reconciliation with published website information is not possible as content relating to English training and associated charges payable is no longer available on closed subclasses.

kaya no choice na, patulong na lng ako sa relative ko sa aussie for the payment.

Do we need to register with Centrelink o pang PR lang un? Alam ko we need to apply for private health insurance/Medicare. TFN we can apply online once we arrive in Australia not before since we need to submit orig documents such as passport.

Please advise po. Thank you!

we were able to apply for mygov and centrelink online. but medicare is not applicable to our sub-class. for the privatehealth insurance we have no idea yet on this.

@Shirlie musta naman po yung cost ng tuition fee for this sub class? may makukuha bang govt subsidy kahit pano or totally out of your own pocket talaga? thanks.

3kids ang samin kaya sa govt namin nai enroll. Walang tuition fee its free pero may books ang ipad rental na nag total s $200 un lng ung babayaran. Nag request din kami na I staggered ang payment and they agree. Bukod dun ung uniform na napaka mahal so we ended na maghanap ng second hand w/c is $5/ea. Kasi if you buy nasa $35 din each.
Kelan dating mo aussie? And san ka territory?

@Shirlie thanks sa information. under 489 visa ako, skilled regional sponsored. I was told once na hindi libre ang tuition ng mga bata for provisional visa, I don't know if we have the same type of visa. kinapos kasi kami ng points because of our age kaya we opted for regional sponsorship. 2 years lang naman magtitiis magstay sa regional area then pwede na apply ng PR.

anyway, sa June 20 ang dating namin sa Perth. dun muna kami stay for few days then saka kami punta sa regional area ng WA. plan namin sa mandurah since iyon ang closest sa Perth. 2 anak ko, 1 girl na college na at 1 boy na grade 8 na.... kung free na yung sa public school for grade schools, yung eldest ko na lang problema ko sa university.

San kayong regional area?

Seems yan ung sub class na ipinalit samin. Kasi 496 last aug2007 n stop na. Kami din we opted s skilled regional sponsored kasi kulang kami s points bec of our age.
Kung s schooling yang gr 8 mo contribution lng babayaran. Ung ns university ang no idea ako kasi unh eldest ko gr10 plng.
Tumawag kami s centrelink and they confirmed na provisional visa don't have support fr govt. Unless maging PR na. Tsaga lng muna tayo madali naman ang araw, ung 2yrs matatapos din.
Andito kami s Melbourne now.

@Shirlie buti naman kahit provisional visa lang tayo eh mura pa din yung babayaran natin sa govt school. malaking tulong na din yun sa mga mag sstart pa lang like us.

may tanong pala ako, musta ang situation ngayon dyan? I heard na recession ngayon sa Oz. wala kami mapagtanungan eh, di din naming alam kung ano ang dadatnan naming na condition dyan.

Korek, at least contribution n lng ang fees. Ung uniform and books may mga 2nd hand naman din. Higpit sintron lng muna sa umpisa.
Re sa situation na recession, dito Melbourne hindi naman kasi dami mga job post kung mag on line job hunt ka. may mga calls din ako sa agency so ung mga CV ko under review.

buti naman pala at hindi all over Oz yung situation ng recession. may nababasa kasi ako sa ibang threads ng mga tanggalan sa trabaho at yung hirap maghanap ng work.

pati mga friends naming ditto sa UAe dinidiscourage kami na pumunta Oz dahil sa situation. pero on the contrary, I am really looking forward na makapunta na dyan. 2 months na lang at fly na kami to WA.

@Shirlie, oo nga malapit na and yet wala pa din masyadong ipon. excited na scared yung feeling kasi we never know kung ano ang magiging sitwasyon naming dyan.

mas mataas nga daw ang cost of living dyan according dun sa bristish officemate ko ditto sa Dubai na nasa Sydney na ngayon. pero balance daw ang life and work kaya mas ok pa din. hope we can also settle like you.

Hi! Did any of you attend an interview after applying for TFN? or did you just apply online when you arrive in Aus? Also, what are the secondary documents you submitted? We just opened an account and we are not allowed Medicare (being non-permanent residents). So we only have our passports and visa grant as proof.

Hi Guys new here in the forum. ask ko lang kung ang secondary pwedeng lumabas ng aus after ng first entry nya and then puwedeng bumalik anytime sa aus
