Hi All!
Mukhang ok nga if ganon sa govt/state school. Ang difference lang din kasi na sabi ng cousin ko is walang "religion" subject kaya sa private Catholic school ang mga anak nya kahit a bit pricey than state schools. So we're thinking maybe during the first year i-enrol narin naming sa private ang anak namin (5yo) para kasama nya mga pinsan nya and help him cope with the new environment knowing cousins are with him.

Has any of you checked our visa and if tama ang na-realize ko that we only have 1year after we meet the 2-year residence requirement for the 887 Permanent Visa to be granted or else we need to be out of Australia when our 496 visa expires?

So after complying with the 2 years residence in the designated area that means saka ka palang makakapag apply for PR. Yun ay kung na-comply mo din ang 1yr full-time work. So lumalabas 1yr lang ang window para mag-apply and para ma-approve ang new visa (after the 2nd year residence up to the 3rd year validity of visa upon arrival).
What do you think po?

Re CFO sticker, we went there kanina. Paid our fees and attended the seminar. By the time the conductor was about to give our passports back, we were told that we should not have attended the seminar because ours is a provisional visa. We should attend daw once we're on a Permanent visa na. They returned our payment naman BUT kinda weird lang kasi we will stay in Australia for at least 2 years, live and work there tapos kung kelan alam na naman kahit pano buhay don (having actually lived there), saka ka palang a-attend ng "pre-departure seminar" for the sticker.
So ayun, FYI lang to the rest of the 496 hehe. No need na daw.

good day mate!
We're here at Melbourne since Friday. Medyi busy at groge pa nung weekend. Grabe sa lamig kaya nag a adjust padin.
Same case nangyari samin dyan s PDOS.
I hope may malapit sainyo.
BTW, do I need to inform may CO na dumating nako? Ung TFN naka apply nako on line.
Pls share po if may kelangan pa ako I inform upon arrival.
Thanks,

So no problem na sa immigration re CFO sticker? Di na talaga hinanap?
Alam ko no need na to inform anyone of our arrival in Australia, unlike mga state-sponsored. Just keep all evidence re residence and work para when we apply naman for PR (887).

1. Nag-punta ba kayo sa Centrelink?
2. Did you apply for private health insurance? Wala tayong Medicare benefits db.
3. TFN can only be applied AFTER arrival since they will be needing our original passports db?
Thank you.

i'm busy with jobhunting and looking for school sa 3 anakis namin. hopefully maging postive lahat :-)

Thank you sa answers. So tama, afterarrival pa pwede mag-online application for TFN, not before.
18mins/15kms naman from Caroline Springs to Maribyrnong. April 6 ang dating naman namin.

Good to hear... malamig na dito ngayon.
Yup ginawa namin yang TFN after arrival. On line naman kaya madali lang.
Regarding sa schooling, ung youngest daughter namin she's 8y/o pero nung nalaman ung birth year nya dapat daw sa primary3 sya. Tapos walang kahirap hirap sa pag accept, nag fill up lng kami enrollment form then submit lng BC, passport, immunisation rec. End na nga din ng term1 sa apr4 pero she can still join the class this coming Friday :-)
May mga kids ba kayo kasama?
Keep in touch :-)

Nag request din kami na I staggered ang payment and they agree. Bukod dun ung uniform na napaka mahal so we ended na maghanap ng second hand w/c is $5/ea. Kasi if you buy nasa $35 din each.
Term2 will resume on 22April kaya mga kids ko vacay mode pa uli.
